A family reunion long in the making [NR]

Demi felt her temper rising: she didn't like this situation one bit. She had no reason to trust the other Kane's, and the way things had started out she likely never would. No, all she wanted to do was leave Heaven before any other incidents occurred and try and return to a -somewhat- normal existence. She wasn't sure the toll this whole situation was going to have on her father, but she hoped whatever the side effects it didn't last long.

When Martha went to hug her father Demi felt herself tense up. She was sure this was going to be some kind of ploy or trick to get in close and attempt to attack him. But, watching the situation all Martha did was hug Alec, something Alec didn't return. Demi couldn't blame him, she wouldn't return a hug for someone like that either.

Demi glanced at Junior and Dez, both whom seemed ready to leave, and then to her father: she wasn't going to go anywhere either until he was coming with them. No, she didn't want to take any chances with a bunch of people she didn't trust hanging around. She could only wonder if the big man was watching this situation, or ignoring it... and if he was watching it, what was he thinking?

Martha Hugged Alec, saying she was wrong for letting this happen to him. She offered up her life as an apology, something Alec didn't seem interested in. It only made John feel worse than he already did. Martha didn't appear to be hurting him, but tranferring some of her vast knowledge into him, as well as letting him know how she really felt. John could feel some of the anger and rage in Alec dying off.

The earthly grandchildren however, all still looked defensive and untrusting, and kept looking back towards the portal to the mortal realm. The wanted to leave, and John couldn't blame them. This wasn't the kind of family reunion anyone imagined.

This battlefiled no longer had a place for John Kane. Suffering the biteer taste of defeat for the first time in centuries, he slowly pulled himself to his feet and vacated the scene...

-Exit-

Alec didn't do anything. He didn't hug back, which was a little disheartening, but he didn't resist her embrace. Alec's kids, her grandchildren essentially, all looked like they wanted to leave, which was further disheartening.

While John picked himself up and left the area, and John Jr also picking himself up, looking at her hugging Alec with a disgusted look on his face, soon leaving the area after his father, Alexis, Alexander and Harriet all took the opportunity to come over where she, Alec and his kids were. Alexis took the opportunity to join the hug with a big childish grin, kissing Alec several times on his cheek and forehead.  Alexander pat his brother on the back.

"Too bad things had to turn out like this," said Harriet, standing nearby Alec and Alec Jr. She gave a glance to each of Alec's kids, adjusting her glasses. "It's pretty entertaining to watch you all in action, you're pretty cool. But with the way things are looking, you'll probably never trust any of us, and with everything you all have been through, it's understandable."

"I wonder why Nevan didn't come with you guys," added Alexander. "I mean, you did meet him once. He's gotta still be down there somewhere..."

"That doesn't matter right now," said Alexis, still squeezed between Alec and herself. "Nevan left because he wanted to, while Alec didn't have a choice. And Alec is here now. I don't want this to end, I don't want you to go, brother." Her obessession with Alec still in full effect, Alexis stared at Alec as she would her crush. Alexander shook his head and Harriet huffed.

Martha remained silent and continued to embrace her child for as long as she would let him. She knew that she would be unable to convince him to stay here; he'd been on Earth far too long and had many connections. There was a woman, and another child that Martha knew she would probably never meet and only be able to watch from affar. Alec would surely leave soon, so she cherished every moment, because there was no telling if she'd ever see Alec again...

The high look on his face slowly began to melt back into a grim one. His mother was still hugging him, and his arms remained by his sides. John and John jr left, but his other siblings came over. Alexis was hugging him too, kissing him. Alexander patted him on the back. Harriet commented on how it was too bad things had to happen like this, and how she wished things could be different, but knowing Alec or the kids would never tust them. Alexander asked about Nevan, with Alexis saying he didn't matter since Alec was here.

Alec found himself not wanting to be here in this loby-dovy scene anymore. He didn't exactly know what his biological mother had done to him, but he didn't really care. He had no plans of coming back here, even with the nice things they were all saying.

Alec moved his mother's and Alexis' arms from around him, looking quite grim again, and started walking off, back towards the hole that turned him into a fallen angel known as The Psychotic Gunman. He knew his kids would be right with him, so without even looking back, once he reached the hole, he jumped into it, for the second and final time.

/Exit/

And cue more hugging and touching. Des was already beginning to feel the familiar sensation that meant her eye was likely about to start twitching. She had learned to control her temper: ask questions first, blow stuff up later. But that didn't mean that a hair's trigger couldn't end up setting her off anyway. She was still very much the explosive girl she was when she was little - she just had a tad bit more restraint.

If Des's own temper and urge to leave was reaching its max then she could only imagine what Junior and Demi were feeling: both seemed to have less control over their tempers then she did. No, if this situation didn't end soon something was likely going to happen to spark an all out war. No need for that.

Just as Destiny was beginning to open her mouth to say something though, to put into words what she had been thinking for several long minutes, her father pulled away from all of the hugs and affection and then started to move towards the exit. Destiny didn't hesitate to follow while knowing that Junior and Demi were going to be right behind her. Out of heaven she would follow after her father, still unable to help wonder if there would be further incidents due to this little get together.

Jr remained expressionless. He didn't even change how he looked when his aunt Harriet complimented them. Jr didn't like how they were all over his father at the moment, and the old him probably would have said or did something. Jr didn't like any of them. Now that he knew what happened to his father, he didn't feel anything towards these people, even if they were technically family.

It seemed like Dez was about to rage, and Jr was having a hard time keeping his own infamous temper in check, before their father pulled himself out of all the hugs and kisses and turned to leave. After one more nefarious glance towards the "family," Jr turned to leave with his father and sisters.

This was heaven, but Jr wasn't going to miss it here. When his father jumped down the hole, Jr followed right after.

Exit]

Some people left, while others seemed to flock to her father. A quick glance to her sister and she could already see the eye twitch starting. Demi knew that Dez had got a better hold on her temper in the past few years, strides above her own control. No, at that moment in time Demi wanted to smack the shit out of almost everyone for the shit that they had put Alec through.

But she wouldn't.

She knew doing so would only cause a bigger situation, and it was clear that everyone wanted to leave: Demi knew she certainly did. Sure enough it wasn't long until her father disentangled himself from all of the hugging and stepped to the exit. Junior and Des followed and with a backward glance to make sure that no one was trying anything funny Demi did too. She had a feeling she wouldn't be coming back here anytime soon: blood didn't always make a family after all and some serious screw ups had been made in her opinion - ones that likely wouldn't fully heal with time.

Leaving Heaven Demi found herself wondering what sort of repercussions would occur due to this entire situation. Would everyone come to blows eventually? Would the almighty finally make himself known and step in? Or would it be business like usual? She doubted the last thought, doubted it greatly indeed.
