Inquiring about Family [Open][NR]

Knowing that Riley was going to be occupied for a long while to come with her new 'toys' she headed upstairs and down the hall to Alec's office. She had some questions she was hoping he could answer: and she was wondering if her daughter had ever managed to come pester him with her one hundred and one questions about guns and how they worked. Nanalie had been very vocal about wanting to learn how to use them: and she was more than willing to allow her to do so.

She stopped outside of the office doors and knocked, before opening the door and walking in. She threw a quick glance around, halfway expecting her daughter to still be in the office: but she didn't see her.

"'Ello, 'ello."

She folded her arms across her chest as she normally did, going over the questions in her head that she figured Alec might have the answers to: where Nanalie was, had he taught her what she wanted to learn, had Flynn ever shown up in Edge since she had taken off with the girls without word four days previous, and what was going on on Amaranth's island that she had nicely booted Demi and the girls off of it for "their own safety".

Alec was sitting behind his desk, smoking a "cigar." The office was clouded and foggy. Earlier he was downstairs in the range with Nanalie, letting off some of the endless amounts of ammunition stored away. He managed to educate the girl on firearm safety and usage. Alec wanted the girl to be protected with everything that had happened, but he believed that he wasn't creating a monster...

Demi opened the office door and came in. She looked around and folded her arms. Alec was able to tell right away that she'd have questions. She'd probably want to know what was going on after the wake of all of this Vigilante madness at Murder Inc.

"Demi. What's up. What can I do for you?"

"Eh, I had a few questions I figured you might be able to answer.", she responded, taking a seat in one of the nearby chairs the office seemed to have, figuring she could very well be here for a while getting the answers she wanted for all of her questions.

"First and most importantly: did Nanalie come in here to pester you about guns and all of that fun stuff? She said she wanted to use guns instead of a bow or sling... and I figured you were the best person I knew to teach her. But, I haven't heard from her since I told her to come up here..." This was the most pressing matter, the most important question. Everything else paled in comparison. She knew what Riley was doing right now, and hoped to hear that Nanalie was off training somewhere, too, occupied, and safe.

She rested her elbows on the chair as she sat there, waiting for her answers. Hands folded together in front of her, fingers interlocking with one another.

Alec flicked ashes in the tray next to him. He pressed several buttons on the desk before him, bringing up a screen. It was linked to the room right below them, showing Nanalie at the booth expertly handling the Desert Eagle he'd given her while shooting at statues of various people Alec fought and killed throughout his life, or just someone who'd rubbed him the wrong way.

"I got her all squared away when it comes to guns. The main thing I taught her was about the safety, so there will be no accidents because she caught on very quick. This room is right below us, and only a few people know of it, and even less know how to get in. She's alright down there, but I can call her up if you wanted?..."

She watched the screen for a moment, a grin spread across her face as she watched her daughter fire at... was that a statue of Jason Sims? She laughed softly and just shook her head. "Alright, that's fine... and nah, I was just wondering where she had got to is all. She's fine where she is. I just got doing the same thing for Riley, only dealing with knives... she saw me with one and it fascinated her... so now she's off somewhere practicing throwing them and stuff."

She looked away from the screen and back to Alec. "Now that that important question is asked... here's my next one: has Flynn shown up at all, wondering where we are? I mean... it's kind of been four days since Amaranth booted us from the island - for whatever reason that was, she didn't go into much detail, all she said was that it was for our best interest to leave and come here for a while. Told me not to even tell anyone I was leaving, so I didn't. I didn't even tell Flynn. I just had the girls pack within five minutes and left..."

Now that she knew her daughter was safe, also training, though the weapon was far different than what she had given Riley, she had time to ponder on the other things that had been nagging at her at the back of her mind. Four days had passed without word. Without anyone coming to her and saying that anyone had shown up looking for her or for the girls. Hell, she hadn't seen her daughter in a short few hours, even though she had known where she was headed, and she had still come asking. But four days? Especially when she had died just a month ago, barely able to be brought back? She kind of expected to be... well... smothered, but she hadn't been, and her mind was in turmoil on how she should feel about that.

That was a good question. Where was Flynn? Was he somewhere "sleeping" again while all of this chaos was taking place on the island of Sugure? Was this guy really fucking up again after being sleep while Demi was beheaded, going emo and nearly killing himself in Ground Zero, and being outsmarted by a kid in a robot suit?

Scans indicated that he could not be found. Alec scratched his head, feeling the first frustrations of the day.
"I haven't seen the guy since he brought that big blue dude back here after they... how can I put this lightly..."fumbled" the Vigilante job at INC HQ. Look at this shit, you can't tell me he'd be able to sleep thought this chaos."

Alec brought up another holographic 3d screen that showed the satellite view of the raging hurricane near the island of Sugure, like a hungry monster looking at it's next meal. The island looked like it was smoking because of all the steam. Alec calculated 100 mph wind gusts and 150 degree temperatures.

"Demi, don't take this the wrong way, but what... what do you see in this guy? What kind of person dozes off and doesn't know where the fuck his family is? What kind of guy walks out on his family when a maniac points a gun at them? And the most important question would have to be, what the hell on god's green earth would you be doing for 4 days in that shit, that would keep you so occupied that you wouldn't go investigate and find out what the hell is going on??"
