Meeting Some More Family [Pyra, Junior, or Invite][NR]

Jr listened to everything she said and nodded his head, throwing away the bloody napkins to add to the others that were in the trash. "I'm not gonna fire you," he said, massaging both sides of his head, his eyes squinted shut. "And i don't blame you for not killing that kid... in fact, i'm glad you didn't kill him... because as crazy as this sounds, I think somebody like him might be pretty awesome to have on our side... but that kid, he doesn't seem like the type to be bent. Might take some serious convincing to get through to him. I mean, it's better than constantly going back and fourth like this..."

Jr had watched the little glowing dot that was Vigilante take off from old Edge through the windows, and from the direction he was headed, he knew where he was going and why. "Vigilante is going home, back in the suburbs. He probably doesn't want to come here in case that alien comes back..."

Jr pulled up a screen then, beginning to type. "I've been putting this off long enough. You and Vigilante will both find something nice waiting for you in your accounts. If the kid comes back, I won't blame you if you don't want to get involved... I'll handle this some other way. Since he's in Edge now, it's my problem. Go get yourself some rest, Ka'lara... For something like this to have been your first job joining up, I apologize... I should have taken care of this personally."

Having put a nice amount of money in both of their accounts, he knew it would do little to change things after the pain they'd gone through. His nose bleeds stopped, but the head aches continued...

Niala fixed all of the damages that had been made during the fight - those Junior hadn't got to already of course. When that was done she lifted her hands and rubbed at her face a bit, feeling the familiar tired feeling she always got when using far too much of her Imagination Manifestation ability far too quickly. She gave a shake of her head, attempting to brush the tired feeling off, as she turned back around in her chair and begin pulling up various video feeds of the fight that had happened.

She listened as Ka'lara explained what happened, and how she couldn't bring herself to kill the kid. From the feelings that Niala was picking up from her she could only guess the girl felt disgraced somehow. Niala wasn't going to pry into her mind and find out why, but she had a feeling that perhaps her shinobi upbringing was probably to blame. Did she feel like she hadn't done her job properly simply because she hadn't been able to bring herself to kill her enemy? Ka'lara's words definitely made Niala think as much.

Niala, using the video feeds of the area of Old Edge, looked through everything carefully - double checking that she had left no stone un-turned when it came to returning the place as good as new. While she did this she listened to Junior tell Ka'lara that she wasn't going to be fired, and that he was glad she hadn't ended up killing the kid, that if they could convince the kid it would be nice to have someone like that on their side. Niala couldn't argue with that logic - the kid was a beast even at such a young age - but the big question was would they be actually able to convince him? Would anyone be able to get through to him? Niala found herself doubting that... though, she could be wrong.

Ka'lara had been totally prepared for Junior to tell her to go pack her shit and get out of his tower but apparently that wasn't to be the case. Her jaw dropped slightly as she heard Junior tell her that he wasn't going to fire her and that he was glad she hadn't killed the kid. She forced her mouth shut as she listened as Junior went on to explain that he thought it was a good idea if they could get the kid on their side, but he thought it wasn't going to be easy, that a kid like that wasn't going to be presuaded right off the bat. She personally couldn't imagine how that was going to work: this kid had tried to kill The Vigilante and herself twice now, and both times they had narrowly escaped certain death and severe bodily injury. How were they expected to get along with someone like that? However, Ka'lara kept her opinions and comments to herself, choosing to just keep her mouth shut - she felt lucky to still have a job and she wasn't going to push Junior's buttons: besides, what were the odds that the kid was honestly going to join up with the Company? She personally didn't see it happening.

Junior went on to explain that The Vigilante was heading home to the suburbs instead of coming back to the tower, likely in case the alien did come back. Ka'lara couldn't help but ponder what would happen at that point if the alien did come back: were they all doomed? Or were there cards not yet laid out on the table? Things not yet discovered?

Then Junior began to type on his computer while explaining that both her and The Vigilante were going to find a nice bit of compensation for their troubles. At this point her phone made a soft ping - an e-mail notification saying that credits had been put into her account - and she pulled out her phone. A swipe of her thumb and the e-mail was up, the amount deposted into her account on the screen made her sway slightly where she stood. First Demi had handed her a hundred thousand credits just because of the good job she had done all of those years at Zero Sum, and now Junior had just given her and likely The Vigilante two hundred thousand credits... she was speechless.

She open and closed her mouth several times, at a lost for words. Finally she darkened her phone's screen and slipped it back into her pocket before speaking, "That's.. wow. Thanks." She scratched at the back of her head as she often did when nervous. "But, honestly? It's... not that big of a deal. There's nothing to apologize for. Honest. If it wasn't for this alien kid coming over here I likely would have continued to be lazy; not training, not trying to improve myself. So, if this kid did anything it was to put that old spark I lost back in me and get me motivated again."

She looked past Junior, out the window, and towards Konohagakure. "I'm alright, really. No need to rest, yet. I want to head back to Konoha and tell Spook sensei what happened - he wanted to hear about the next fight I got into. Maybe he'll even have some more neat stuff to teach me... or something else will present itself. Can someone send me the fight to my phone? I'm sure Spook sensei would get a kick out of watching it." Figuring that one of them would she would wait to see if either of them had anything else to say and if they didn't she would turn and walk back out of the office and down the hall, still a bit stunned at the turn of events that had taken place...
