Back home, new developments [Company Members,][NR]

Once Seraphina was put down she took hesitant steps deeper into the office. She kept herself close to Sicarius who seemed far more comfortable than she was. Of course, this wasn't anything to do with the people in the room who had obviously been in the middle of more of something. No, she was uncomfortable simply because Edge was even more technological advanced than Velo City and Seraphina was worried about touching the wrong thing.

She gave a nod of greeting and a wave to Junior and the other two females, before looking towards Alec as well, waiting for him to answer Sicarius' question. She, too, was curious as to what it was that Alec wanted to show them.

She had to stop jinxing herself. First she had said things couldn't get more embarrassing and they had when Hi No had coped a feel, but now Alec returned in the midst of said feel coping. Yeah, she was definitely going to watch what she said and how she jinxed herself from now on. When Hi No spoke of doing more of this later she simply shook her head, unable to form any words to respond with.

She simply blushed and ducked her head down, waiting for the redness to recede. After a few seconds she took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, calming herself so that she could focus on what was going on in the office. She looked between Alec, Seraphina, and Sicarius curiously as Sicarius asked Alec a question.

Niala had a feeling she might know what it was that Alec wanted to show them, and she wondered how they would react to seeing it... Given that Niala was psychic it wasn't a feeling she was going to ignore.

Niala pulled up a feed of Demi who was a floor down in the R&D department. Demi was examining Wolfenstein while Devon sat in the background laughing. Wolfenstein was likewise examining her back, seeming to mimic most of her actions perfectly. Niala was glad to see that Demi was far too distracted to know what was going on upstairs at the moment.

"Maxi... this isn't the first time he's ran out on someone close to him. The last time was with his own daughter. Rather than tell you about it, I think I should show you."

Alec reached over the desk and pressed several buttons on the digital keyboard, the keys lighting up to his touch. A large holographic screen appeared behind him and in front of Seraphina and Sicarius. A video began to play of that day on Sunset Isle, when Demi got into the fight with Cross. They would be able to see the whole thing. Demi pushing her daughter out of the way. The unfortunate moment where Demi was decapitated. Alec arriving and angrily avenging her. Ghost and Dez showing up soon after, with Dez screaming madly. Alec resurrecting Demi, and Ghost trying to have Demi come to grips with what she was.

There was another video of Maxi's half assed attempt at trying to help Demi recover her memory, in which it seemed that he wasn't even paying attention. Finally there was the video of Alec walking into Amaranth's lab, and the procedure in which Demi was reborn into a Kane.

"If you stay over there in that city, the same thing could happen to the both of you. I'm not saying it will, but it can. Since I was the one who took Demi in, while also knowing how Maxi is, i'm making the same offer to both of you. Here, you'd have all kinds of family members who would look after you, and no one would run off to leave you to fend for yourselves. I'm not going to force you though, you're both free to say no and take your own chances. I just thought i'd extend the offer before something bad happens. And something bad usually always happens..."

Jr didn't like watching this video. It made him mad. His body began to glow with an eerie red color when his sister was killed, and a nasty frown appeared on his face. He was glad that his father blew the asshole that did that to Demi into atoms, but he wanted to be the one to kill him. Seeing that it looked like Maxi didn't even care just made Jr more angry.

He promised that he wouldn't find that Vampire and rip open his rib cage with his bare hands. it seemed that even Hi No Seishin didn't like what she was seeing either, as the fire surrounding her form grew hotter all of a sudden.

If this happened, he'd have a new aunt and sister. The Kane family seemed to grow bigger and bigger daily now...

"....."

A look of pure horror covered Sicarius' face as her eyes took in the video in front of her. She had known that Demi had died, been brought back, and then later on had had her memories taken and turned into a member of the Kane family. But... she had never seen any of it. She had kept her distance because she was afraid that if she had come around Demi that maybe something bad would have happened, and she hadn't wanted to cause Demi anymore pain.

But seeing this? It caused the sadness and upset that Sicarius had suppressed to come rising up to the surface. She began to shake her head as tears poured down her cheeks. After several moments of watching she reached up and covered her eyes with her hands. "...!" And then she was simply hugging Seraphina and bawling her eyes out, soaking her Aunt Seraphina's coat where her face was buried into it.

She didn't know what to say at first. She knew the point that Alec was trying to make by showing them the video, as it spoke louder than words could. But, watching that happen to Demi hurt, it hurt in places she didn't even know existed. It felt like a huge lump had settled into her stomach, and she was frightened it wouldn't go away anytime soon. Could that really happen to them? Demi, who was so strong and brave, had sacrificed herself so that her daughter could get away, could get somewhere safe. Would one day one of them have to make that choice?

After a moment of sniffling she lifted her head and looked at Alec with eyes that were red and bloodshot from her crying. "I miss Demi... I'd be okay with being Demi's sister again.", was her answer. She then tilted her head back and looked up at her Aunt Seraphina, wondering if she too would agree to become a member of the Kane family.

Seraphina watched the video in utter shock. She hadn't been told that Maxi had had a daughter who died. In fact, the majority of her time spent in Velo had been around Sicarius who had done everything in her power to keep her happy and laughing. It hadn't escaped her notice what Sicarius was attempting to do, and she had simply let her.

When her neice began to cry and hugged her she wrapped her arms tightly and protectively around the younger female and held her close. She couldn't really relate to how the girl was feeling; she personally had spent so much time away from her family, even when she was a young child, that such a shock didn't register for her. She was saddened though to see that she had had a niece who died in such a horrific manner.

She listened to Sicarius give her own yes and looked down at her for a moment. She looked into Sicarius eyes and then nodded too, looking over to Alec. "Alright... I... I think that's for the best."

The joking mood was gone, replaced by a far more serious and much sadder one. After several seconds of the video playing Niala looked away. She could feel the room heating up from the anger that seemed to come spilling out of both Hi No and Junior, and she knew that if her own emotions could come forth as fire she'd be causing the same reaction: she didn't like having to see Demi die again...

So she glanced back to the much happy Demi, who was currently being poked at by the giant Wolfenstein. Demi was currently laying on the floor now, laughing herself silly, red in the face.

Niala looked over to Sicarius and Seraphina as both girls agreed to become members of the Kane family. She hadn't bothered looking into the future, but if she had she was sure that she would have seen this coming; especially since she had even without looking.

Alec, his own eyes shrink wrapped in tears with a similar frown that made him and Jr look very nearly identical, reached over to turn the screen off. He used a thumb and index finger to wipe his eyes. Alec didn't intend on making Sicarius cry, but he had to show them what happened. He didn't want to have to go through something like this again.

"...I'm sorry... it was hard to watch, I know. Even worse having to be there that day. But you both had to know..."

Alec could sense Demi below. She seemed to be in a good mood. This is what calmed him down. He took a deep breath and tried to push painful past events back where they belonged: in the past. Amaranth wasn't here, which meant that the procedure would have to take place over on Sunset Isle.

"My grand daughter will be the one doing the procedure. She lives on that island over there. I can have us there in a few seconds, so if you'll step over here..."

They agreed to become part of the family. Aunt Seraphina, and Sicarius his cousin. Technically speaking, she already was, but now it was going to be official. He'd have to keep his eyes extra peeled on the cameras around the city just in case anyone got any funny ideas about retaliating.

"I'd like to visit Amaranth's island one day, do you think we could go?" asked Hi No, and Jr nodded.

"It's where I used to live before I came over to the other world. I was kinda looking forward to lounging around the beaches again, but I have to run things here now..." said Jr, the last part of the sentence said with slight irritation. "But sure, when there's time i'll take you over there and show you around."

Hi no smiled and clapped her hands. "Great! Maybe Niala can come with us! We'll get to see her sexy body in a bikini too!" Jr, embarrassed with how forward Hi No was showing that he was, could just scratch the top of his head again...

Sicarius wiped away her own tears on the sleeve of her shirt and sniffled once or twice more as she finished calming down. It was indeed a sad sight to see but Sicarius reminded herself that Demi was healthy, alive and well: she looked over to the computer monitor that Niala had pulled out and could see her being tickled so much that she was red in the face and rolling around on the floor. This made Sicarius smile and with that smile on her face she walked back over to Alec after releasing her hold on her Aunt.

"Mmkay, Mister Kane." She waved goodbye to Junior, Hi No, and Niala before looking up at Alec and waiting to be taken over to Sunset Island.

Seraphina gave Sicarius one last hug before releasing the girl. She followed Sicarius' gaze and saw what she was seeing: a little girl being tickled by a giant wolf-shaped robot that looked to have a life and mind of its own. The girl who was being tickled was rolling around on the floor and very red in the face. Seraphina smiled.

She crossed the room behind Sicarius and took up position next to Alec once again. She wondered what it would feel like being an angel: she was used to being a human with very limited powers. "It'll be weird having a bunch of powers though... I kind of like doing things the old fashioned way." She chuckled. "I drive Sicarius crazy because I even hunt my own food, instead of going to the store.", her nose wrinkled a bit at the idea of going to the store to get meat someone else killed and fixed - she was definitely old school.

Niala watched as both Sicarius and Seraphina walked over to Alec, prepared to head over to Sunset Island to have whatever procedure that Amaranth would do to them, done. Niala figured they'd come looking back like Kane's, with the light colored hair and everything. Niala pressed several buttons, going back to searching through news feeds.

At least... until Hi No made her next pervy comment about seeing her in a bikini if Niala joined them over on Sunset Island. Niala just shook her head slightly. She didn't think she could possibly blush anymore after everything that had been said and done tonight, but sure enough she felt her face heat up slightly as a pink tint covered her cheeks.

Alec opened the window. With both of the females near him again, he put his arms around the waists of his new little sister and what would likely become a female clone of himself. He could only believe that constantly doing this didn't bring something bad down upon Amaranth or himself. Before leaving again, he looked over toward Jr.

"Glad you're beginning to socialize again after that last episode. Just... try not to get too wild in the office, huh? You do have kids in and out of here. Do take care of him Niala, huh? Can't think of a better girlfriend for him to have than you."

He grinned some, then fell backwards out of the window with the girls before jr could respond. His wings engaged again, and he began carrying them in the direction of Sunset Island.

"You just LOVE to embarrass---UUUHHHHH!!" was Jr's response, stopping mid-way since he was sure that his father no longer could hear him. He rubbed his face roughly.

"Ohhhhhh. Cheer up, Jr! Maybe Alec and Darkman teased you some, but now you have a hot girlfriend after it's all said and done!" Hi No said.

"Uhhh... don't you think it's a bit early to be calling her that? We both only just found out how we feel about each other today. You haven't even asked her about all this..."

"Hodgepodge," said Hi No as she threw arms around Jr's neck. "We all know that it'll end up that way, so why not just skip through all that unnecessary stuff and make things official now."

"Can we just... chill out on all the embarrassing stuff for one day, i think i've had enough..."

Sicarius let out a "Weeeeeeeeeeeeee!", of a sound as they fell backwards out of the window. She was in a better mood already just by having had a chance to see a much happier Demi then the one that she had watched die. She could remember having been kind of angry, the sad kind of angry, when she first heard about Alec taking Demi away, but perhaps it really was for the best? Now it seemed they too would become Kane's. Did that mean her cat ears and tail would disappear? Would she miss them? Time to find out, she guessed as they headed off to the beautiful Sunset Island.

Seraphina was prepared this time around and found the experience of flying rather enjoyable. She wasn't one for using powers but flying was something she felt that with time she could definitely get used to, and enjoy immensely. She too took in the sight of Sunset Island as they sped towards it and she wondered how odd, if at all, it would feel to be anything but human.

Niala opened her mouth to respond to Alec's comment but he was gone before she could even begin to make one, so instead she just simply shook her head a little bit in disbelief. She didn't have family, but she assumed that if she did they'd likely tease her like this too, so she didn't mind it so much.

"Isn't that up to Junior and I though? I mean, I wouldn't mind being called his girlfriend, don't get me wrong. But isn't there a process to these things? Movies, dinner, that sort of thing?" She too figured she had had enough on the embarrassing stuff for one day and turned in her chair slightly to look out towards Sunset Island.

She knew she should likely get over there soon, she had told Amaranth she would help her when it came to expanding her island, and she didn't know how long the female would want to wait: she seemed to have a pretty good grasp of what she wanted after all. "Hmm. Suppose I should go run over to Sunset Island right fast. Don't want to keep Amaranth waiting. If you need me, Junior, that's where I'll be."
