An Unexpected Journey [Open to Company Members][NR]

Niala had spent the past several hours not only looking into her mother, Dawn's, past and learning everything she could about her, but also changing her own appearance. She still looked like Niala when it came to facial features but she now stood at five feet four inches tall, had more of an hourglass figure, had gone up a cup size, and looked about 17-18 years old instead of 15 like she had for the past several years. Her hair was black now, straight, and went down to her waist; just like her mother's originally was before her father had forced her to change it, and her skin was no longer dark tan but pale in color – though it still gave off heat as if she had a fever though she felt perfectly fine. Her eyes were still the same red as they always were. Niala had changed her choice of outfit too and now wore a black kimono with pink and blue flowers decorating it: the kimono itself went down to the floor and the tails of the sleeves went almost to the floor as well. Around her kimono was a gold decorative obi (belt) that was tied in a fancy bow in the back. She wore white tobi (split toed socks) on her feet with a pair of wooden gata. (wooden elevated sandals). Her Company pendant was worn over top of her kimono for now, hanging from her neck. She looked, all in all, much like her natural heritage: the heritage her father had forced her mother to change with the very same abilities that Niala herself had.

Niala walked into the office, pausing to see if Junior was at his desk, before she would walk towards her own. If Junior was there she would speak softly, “I took my mother's diary from the house and used my sight to look into her past so I could learn about her – apparently my father forced her to hide her true heritage. So, I removed his own from myself and changed my appearance to what I should have been born looking like.”

Once seated at her desk she would focus, as she so often did, and manifest a drink – though she had switched to now for an iced chai tea - with her change of appearance she had also apparently changed her tastes as well, matured them slightly. Once her drink appeared she sipped at it quietly, a frown on her face instead of the usual smile. Things were still weighing heavily on her mind, and there was something she had yet to really ponder over – were her grandparents still alive? If they were they were likely living in Velo City, and considering everything that had been going on she was weary about traveling there by herself.

Imagination Manifestation:

It seemed like both of them had underwent a few changes in the last few days, though his had more to do with his birthday, and her probably had to do with the encounter with her parents. Jr had to do a double take. He looked her over a while, but the kidly blushing and nervousness that he once displayed were over.

He nodded his head to what she'd said and turned his attention back to the screen before him. On the screen was the Saiyan. He was floating in mid-air, looking lost in thought about something. After a few moments, a white glow surrounded his body and he took off; his force so sheer that the water parted in his wake.

Jr moved the screen to an aerial view, and plotted his course. If he kept on his current trajectory, the Saiyan looked to be headed toward Shinkai Shigai, which was now known as Velo City. The place Maxi and Nova went and took over. "Looks like Nova is about to have some company," he said. He began to go through the cameras he had pointed in that direction.

For a city that was once the source of much misery and drama, and with everything that had gone on over there, things seemed to be quiet over there... for now. Jr could see nothing out of order besides a fight as a school between what looked like some sort of ninja and a girl in a sailor fuku school uniform that looked a little too small for her. She seemed faster than the man, but didn't seem strong enough to do any lasting damage. She also seemed embarrassed that the man was perving on her.

Was it because of them that the Saiyan was headed in that direction? Both of them seemed quite strong. The man seemed to be at his prime, but the female, there seemed to be more to her. It looked like she was holding back. Or could the Saiyan be after Nova? Maxi? He'd keep cameras pointed over there to watch for further developments...

Niala noticed Junior's double take and the way he seemed to take a while to look her over: she felt a pleasure at this rise through her. Just yesterday she would have turned as beat red as an apple in embarrassment, but now a smile spread across her face – her pleasure at his looking overshadowing the thoughts that had been going through her head at that moment.

That was, until she caught a glimpse of the Saiyan out of the corner of her eye. She turned her attention to the monitor as she placed her chai tea on her desk. She listened as Junior said it looked like Nova was about to have some company and this caused her frown to reappear and a slight look of shock, or fear, appear in her red eyes. “My father didn't like my grandparents due to prejudice so he forced my mother to move away and stop seeing them.” She looked then from the monitor to Junior. “The last my mother knew they were living in Shinkai Shigai where the family had lived for centuries.... “

Were they still alive? Would the Saiyan kill them as he had done people here in Edge? If they did die, would Nova bring them back to life? She didn't even want to think of the last question, she didn't even want to risk them dying in the first place. “I have a feeling my grandparents are still alive, something in my gut tells me. I need to go to Velo City.” Not just to see them though as she had originally planned... but to protect them now. “I'd never be able to forgive myself if something happened to them.” She had been willing to put this trip off for a few days to come to terms more with things, but now there seemed to be no time.

Niala had people over there. With every moment that passed, the Saiyan drew closer. If a fight broke out over there, innocent people were going to die, just as they had here. Nova ran that place, and it seemed like he'd taken a liking to threatening people with that weird sword of his. As he'd threaten his own family without asking any questions first, someone that wasn't related was open season.

"Yeah sure, but you're not going over there by yourself, that's out of the question. I'm going with," he said, pulling out his cellphone. He pressed something on the screen and put the phone to his ear. "...Misaki?...Yeah, you in or around the tower?... Good, could you come up to the office please?"

This was staring to look like a troublesome situation. An alien, a so-called family member who'd pointed a sword at another family member, and Niala's people caught up in the middle of it all. It probably wasn't going to end well.

He was on the streets, tricking around on some of the benches and rails. He was debating on going and putting in a bouncer job tonight at the club. His presence there had become somewhat of a legend, what with the amount of asses he'd already kicked over there.

None of his people had come looking for him, investigating, anything. Maybe he really was invisible. Maybe his mother really didn't keep track of what came out of that worn out vagina of hers. He shouldn't have been as aggravated as he was over the whole thing, seeing as he had money, something to eat, and new powers to work with. He just figured that SOMEONE would have come looking by now.

His phone vibrated and he skidded to a stop with the back of his board to pull it out. "Yo?" he said. "Boss Jr dude?... Yeah, i'm not far away... Alright, i'll be up in 1 sec." He put the phone back in his pocket and changed directions, heading for the tower. He rolled through the opening gates and headed into the lobby. Taking the elevator up, he hoped he hadn't done anything wrong. He knew he'd been lacking for the past week or so, but with some freaky alien running around, Yata wasn't ashamed to admit he wouldn't figure much.

The doors opened and he made his way down the hall and into the office, his board in his right hand. "Boss?... Wooah. Looking different nowadays. Both of you, why so dressed up and such? Off to a party or a meeting or something?"

Despite Niala's urge to go over to Velo City she really didn't want to go alone: when her emotions got the best of her she couldn't use her more potent powers – though she had not locked down the Phoenix powers within her and had no intentions of doing so – and that meant that if while she was upset she got into a fight she was a sitting duck. However, it would seem that Niala wasn't going to have to worry long about that: Junior said he wasn't letting her go alone to Velo City, that he was going to come with. It added a great deal of comfort for her over the situation to know that he was tagging along, especially as she considered not only the Saiyan that was on his way over there but the fact that Nova Kane had already pointed a weapon at a member of his own family – she felt that put her under the 'Game On!' category. "Sounds like a plan; I really didn't want to go over there by myself anyway, even before I saw that the Saiyan was headed in that direction. Not after what Nova pulled with Amaranth..."

Then Junior was getting on his cellphone and calling Misaki up to the office: Niala wondered why but figured her question would be answered relatively soon. She picked up her tea, sipping at it to keep her hands busy and distract herself while they waited to leave.

Misaki arrived not long after being called and commented about how they had changed, and the way they were nicely dressed. She didn't know where to begin with the story of why she looked the way she did so she said simply, “It's a very, very long story.” A story she wouldn't mind telling him, so long as they were on their way to Velo City while she did: she was anxious to see her grandparents, to ensure that they were safe and whole. She even found herself thinking of what she could possibly say to them to convince them to move to Edge City – she didn't want them so far away, and under the protection of someone else she didn't know or trust.

Her red colored gaze turned back to the monitor where she could see the cameras tracking the Saiyan... was he going to do to Velo what he had done to Edge and Neutral and Ground Zero? What he might have even done to Sunset had Amaranth not stepped in?

Jr got up to straighten his Armani jacket and tie. "A party... you could say that," he said while stepping around the desk and over near Yata. He hadn't really gotten the chance to know the guy since he'd joined, and he'd done well in helping out Demi, going to Sunset to deliver goods to his father, and basically not being a bully who preys on the weak like he was when he'd first met him.

"I see you haven't let your new powers get to your head, and that's cool. You helped out my sister and went to find my father too. I guess you cut ties with those other 2 morons you used to hang with, and you've been staying out of trouble too, that's real cool of you, Yata," said Jr with a nod, patting him on his shoulder. "Listen... Niala and I have to go to Japan, to a city called Velo. She found out some of her family lives there... thing is, the Saiyan - have you heard about that guy yet? The alien going around trashing cities and beating people up? - He's headed in that direction. Why don't you come with us, be my back-up in case something does jump off? I'll make sure a nice thank you is put into your account. I'll also help you unlock another one of those 'auras' of yours, if you wanted."

This trip could possibly become dangerous, but he didn't want the guy to come into something he wasn't ready for. Honestly Jr just wanted to see him in action again.

...Well. He wasn't expecting to be praised. He honestly came up here thinking he was about to be let go. "sorry kid, you don't match up" kind of thing. But it was true that he'd cut ties with Moose and Biff, and it was true that his powers didn't go to his head, since he knew there were others more powerful, and that he'd given up his bullying ways.

Jr said he and Niala, the female there who read his whole life out loud like a book that one time, were going to Japan to find her people because that alien dude was going in that direction. The alien was called a Saiyan. He was a kid, but he was strong and powerful. Rumor had it that he put a beat down on someone over on Sunset Island, on the beach. Skipped him across the waves like a rock.

While he was still somewhat sore about that girl putting all of his business out in the air like she did, it was an opportunity to see another country, earn some more bucks, and possibly unlock more to his aura. It was also a chance to see that alien up close and in person, even though there was a chance that they'd have to fight that guy. There wasn't really anything to worry about with the Jr dude on board.

"...I don't see why that godly chick there would need somebody else's help," he said with a slight frown. "But since it's you asking me to go, I got'cher back, Jr dude. And yeah, I saw the little alien dude, when he went to Neutral and was smackin heli's outta the air like flies. I dunno how we'd figure if we have to fight em, but... I got'cher back..."

Niala listened as Junior praised Yata for not allowing his power to go to his head, helping out his sister Demi with her club Zero Sum, and delivering something to Alec over in Sunset Island, along with cutting ties to the two other people who had been with him that day they had met, and keeping himself out of trouble. Niala was glad, as well, that things had worked out for Yata the way they did: he seemed like a good guy after all.

She wondered how all three of them would be traveling to Velo at the same time: could Yata fly? Or would Junior use something like one of those doors of his? Between the three of them they could surely figure out something.

“When we get to Velo City it shouldn't take me more than a minute or two to find them: I'll just follow the traces of my mother, like the one she left on her diary, and follow it back to them. Even after all of these years the essence of her coming and going back and forth will still exist.” The explanation reminded Niala of what she had heard about a lot of spirit creatures, at least those who were nothing more than a small memory of themselves – completely unable to communicate or know what's going on around them: it was how a lot of minor spirits existed.

She frowned at Yata's comment. “I'm far from godly.” She sighed, figuring she might as well explain, considering she had sort of outed the kid on his past in front of several people. “My powers don't work when I'm upset: at least not the majority of them.” She took another breath and admitted something that was still rather hard for her to do so. “And considering my father tried to shoot and kill me less than twenty-four hours ago, taking risks isn't a good idea.” Once the words were said it felt better, more like she had come to terms with it by stating it out loud - even if it proved just how shitty of a home life she had had. Still, she was in a much better place now thanks to Junior's father taking her in off of the streets, and so she wasn't going to dwell on the past too much.

Jr got the vibe that Yata didn't like Niala much. Maybe it was because of that first day, when she put him on the spot. If he were in his shoes, he'd have felt a bit of animosity too. Jr himself felt bad for exposing the guy, with the kind of life he led. Godly... well, Jr couldn't help but agree, she could yank whatever she wanted out of her imagination. Jr had the ability to mess with time, but that didn't really compare.

He didn't really respond since he knew where Yata was coming from. He agreed to go, so Jr figured it would be best to just get this over with. Keeping these 2 together probably wouldn't be a good idea. He reached in front of him and opened a "Door." It lead to the road just outside of Velo.

Portal Creation:

"We should get this over with if we want to avoid troublesome situations," he said, though he was mostly speaking for himself. He didn't know what he'd do if he saw Nova. Honestly, he didn't want to see him, period. He stepped through...

[Exit]

"Still godly, compared to me," Yata mumbled. "No matter how you look at it..."

He didn't want to argue with her, and turned his attention towards the door Jr was opening. It was the same kind of door he opened to send him over to find his father Alec Kane. Japan, huh? First time for everything.

Yata stepped through the door behind Jr...

Niala didn't feel like arguing: and now clearly wasn't the time if she wanted to get to her grandparents before that Saiyan started to do whatever it was over in Velo City to do. Besides, she really did want to see them... Junior made one of his doors and stepped through, Yata following behind him. With a sigh Niala got up and did the same, disappearing out of the office through this door to arrive in Velo City...

Would Nova seek them out? Or would he worry about the Saiyan who was all over the news because of the destruction and chaos he had caused in at least four separate locations?
