Another Threat? [Company members][NR]

Something was going on over there where that city his father blew up, New Vegas as it was once called, now known as Ground Zero. Something had come down through the atmosphere and caused another big boom, and now there was some sort of life form over there, moving around on that island whoever used to be there created. Other lesser life forces were disappearing one by one, due to the new arrival.

What if whoever or whatever that was came here next? Or to Sunset Island? There hadn't been a peep out of that place for years, and now this, added onto the fact that there was some underground cult lurking around in the shadows, and his father, niece, and Vigilante just barely managed to escape a city of zombies. He decided that he would send someone over there to investigate, at the very least. If no one wanted to go, then he'd have to undergo the task himself.

Jr pulled out his Cellphone and made a conference call. "Folks, we have ourselves a situation," he said. "It seems that something is going on over in Ground Zero. It's not exactly safe for any and everyone to be going over into that hell, so whoever's interested in a well paying job, come to the office and see me as soon as possible. I'll fill you in on the rest of the details..."

Big V expected to enter the office and it to be full of people, but there was no one but Jr. Ground Zero, huh? Maybe everyone wasn't equipped to go deal with a place as harsh as that. A job opportunity tho? He wasn't about to turn that down.

"I'm here, Boss," V said while pushing open the doors and walking into the office. He'd been out of action since that whole kidnapping fiasco and was itching for some action. If no one else was going? That was fine.

This sorta thing sounded right up his alley. Investigating something in a hell on earth like Ground Zero; it sounded like fun. V was all for it.

"...Really? A job up for grabs and nobody's reaching for it? Dez? Demi? With all that shit you two talk? You all really gonna be a bunch of lazy mother fu--"

His rage had started to get the best of him, before The Vigilante came walking in. Once again, if anyone was suited for this job, it would be this guy. But then again, Jr started to feel a little guilty. This guy busted his ass and could have died rescuing Cala, and here he was ready to go out on another job.

"...Nevermind," he said into the phone, before putting it on the desk. Jr sighed and brought up a screen of something glowing, resembling a comet, falling out of the sky. "Two days ago, this came out of the sky." The thing landed violently and created a big explosion, rocking that island hovering above Ground Zero. "Because of the radiation and unholy shit floating around because of the portal over there that goes to hell, I can't get a good shot of what's going on over there. But something came out of that thing, and now it's killing the mutants and freaks. There's like an army of those things over there, and whatever that alien thing is, it's killing them all single handed."

Jr rubbed his eyes, still unsure if whether or not he wanted to send Vigilante over there so soon after his latest episode. "I need to know what this thing is. Who knows if it'll come here or somewhere else and start repeating the process... If it's a threat, we need to access the situation and figure out how to deal with it... Now, I appreciate you volunteering for this, but you don't have to if you don't want. After that last episode... i'll understand totally if you wanna sit this one out. It could be dangerous..."

Ka'lara who had spent the previous day moving all of her stuff into Darkman Tower from the slum-hole she had lived in previously had been asleep when her phone had gone off. She caught the end of Junior's message though and was up and dressed within minutes. She raced up to the office, still pulling her long black hair into a ponytail as she walked into the room: dressed as she often was when not working at Zero Sum in her shinobi clothing: a red top with bandages wrapped around her arms and hands - leaving fingers free, a red hoodie around her waist, and deep reddish black pants that went just below her knees, followed by black shinobi sandals.

"Hey, I'm not too late am I? I heard action's going down.", she said, holding back her yawn until she was finished speaking. She rubbed at her eyes to remove the crustiness, already jumping from one foot to the other in excitement. There was nothing more that Ka'lara liked better than a good fight, and she hadn't had one of those in a long time.

Now that she was back to her ninja self she felt her blood pumping over the idea of getting into a fight even more than before.

An alien was in Ground Zero? Well. It wasn't any surprise really. Jr here could rewind and fast forward time, and Niala could create whatever came into her imagination. So why wouldn't there be aliens out there?

"Creepy cults and now aliens. What a world we live in," V said. He rubbed both the knuckles on each of his hands. To get into a fight with an alien, then...

A female came in, someone he'd never seen before. Was she another new hire in, after Yata? Seemed like Jr was doing some expanding. "Sit out? No way, i'm ready for this," said V, looking back at Jr. "I'll go over there and check it out, no problem. If it's too hairy i'll bail, no drama."

Would the girl be equipped enough to travel into a hell such as Ground Zero? There was probably more to her than met the eye, it was always the same with these characters that went in and out of here...

Vigilante said he wanted to go. He said he'd bail out if things became too troublesome. That was good, because he just wanted to know who or what that thing was. He didn't want any violence if it could be avoided.

Ka'lara came in next. It made Jr scratch his head when she asked if she were too late. He could almost feel her blood boiling from where he said. "No, you're not too late..." he answered. "It appears there some kind of alien over there, taking out whole armies of those mutants and freaks over there by itself. I need to get a clear picture of this situation before it moves to another populated area and begins the process all over again..."

"Ground Zero is a harsh environment, Ka'lara," Jr added. "It gets really hot, and there's endless fields of lava. Vigilante here has his suit to protect him, how exactly would you prepare for a place like that? It's literally hell on Earth over there..."

Ka'lara grinned at the sound of what was going on. She wasn't foolhardy to the point to where she would get into a situation that was over her head, and she knew her limits when she heard them, so if things got too dangerous she too was willing to bail out.

When Junior asked her how she would handle such a hot area such as Ground Zero she grinned a little more wickedly. "My fullbody clan tattoo is a little more than just decoration. I can use it to detect life forces as well as....", she paused, calling forth the dim white glow of her fullbody tattoo that normally was jet black on her flesh and stood out boldly "... use it to protect against the most dangerous of elemental attacks and environments. It also blunts physical attacks by half."

Fullbody Tattoo:

"Not as cool as a suit that can protect you from all that, but it's handy. It activates even when I'm unconscious by the way; so that's not a worry either.", she added, figuring someone might worry about what would happen if she got knocked unconscious. But, she was lucky she had such a characteristic that acted like this.

He knew there was something more to the girl, and he was right in his hunch. The girl had a crazy body tat that could glow. She claimed it protected her from the elements, and blunted physical damage. The pervert in V had him wondering exactly what parts of the skin the tat covered that he couldn't see...

"Alright then, we'll head out now, yeah?" he said, shaking off those thoughts for now. "We'll go check the place out and be back in time for Granny's meatloaf!"

Aliens now, huh? This was getting more exciting by the minute. V walked towards the window. He opened it and jumped out, sure Jr would close it behind him. As he fell, his jets engaged, beginning to push him faster towards the ground below. At around the 500th floor V changed directions and began heading towards Ground Zero, formerly New Vegas...

V went and jumped out of the window before he could ask him about a quick and easy way there, or to carry Ka'lara. With a grumble, Jr closed the window again, then sat back in the leather chair. [color=red]"Ka'lara, can you fly? Do you have a fast way to travel? If not, I can open a door that will take you directly there. I was about to make the same offer to Vigilante, but he's all in super hero mode..."

He'd send her directly there if she wanted, if she didn't have her own way of going about it. If she chose her own means of getting there, that was fine too. "I'll make sure you're well paid when this is over. Be sure to inform V too, when you see him next..."

Ka'lara looked to Junior and shook her head no, laughing. "Unfortunately not. Flight isn't something i'm handy with. I prefer my feet on the ground, to be honest. And I've yet to learn something awesome like Flying Thunder God..." She could jump high of course to make up for this; so it wasn't always that big of a deal. But, falling over a thousand stories? That'd likely hurt.

So, she would wait for Junior to open this door he mentioned; wondering what sort of door could take her to another area so quickly. "I'll make sure I tell him what you said.", she added, making it a mental note: she didn't personally care about the money, it was the fight that she was interested in - but she wasn't going to turn it down, she could use that money for something useful. She had all of her weapons on her, and her blood was still boiling because she was excited to get into her first fight in over seven years - she didn't count that Remiel thing since she technically hadn't been the one to actually end up kicking his ass and killing him.

So, she would simply wait for Junior to open this door before she left to Ground Zero, off to find that alien that Junior spoke off...

Jr stood up and came around to the other side of the desk and stood next to Ka'lara. He rubbed his hands together while his large wings moved and flapped several times. Like he'd done with Yata, he reached before him with both arms and pulled open a door in time and space.

Portal Creation:

The area beyond looked like something out of a bad nightmare. The sky was nearly black, with nasty looking clouds that struck lightning every few seconds. The landscape was jagged and rocky. The eerie orange glow of lava was everywhere. The silhouettes of creatures could be seen all around, as well as wreckage from buildings and houses from New Vegas.

"...Wasn't expecting the place to look like that," Jr said, turning up his nose from the horrible smell. "I in my right mind couldn't really send a girl into a hell like that. To think I was gonna ask my sisters to go there...You can back out if you want..."

He'd probably have to end up going to that place himself after all, if Ka'lara changed her mind. He was feeling like he needed to stretch his legs and get back into the game anyway...

Ka'lara watched as Junior made this door of his appear and the smell that came out of it was what Ka'lara had always thought that Hell itself probably smelled like. Her nose wrinkled but it did nothing to knock the grin off of her face: she was more than willing to go on with this despite what the place looked and smelled like. She shook her head when Junior told her that she could back out if she wanted.

"Not a chance boss man. Who knows when I'd get a chance to whoop some ass like I used to. Don't worry: if it gets too dangerous I'll bail out." She'd wait long enough to see if Junior said anything else, or changed his mind in actually allowing her to go, before she would step through the door and enter into Ground Zero where she could easily see and sense through her full body tattoo creatures moving about in the distance...

MAYBE 3 OR SO HOURS GO BY....

Jr was sitting behind the desk. What he could see on the video, it seemed like Vigilante and Ka'lara were fighting what looked to be a little kid. The kid looked like he was putting up a good fight, even with Vigilante's new suit, and with the fact that Ka'lara was once trained by Spook, but, he'd have to wait until they got back to get the full story.

It looked like Vigilante won, but looks could be deceiving. This was just something else to add onto the list of problems. Vigilante and Ka'lara would have to give him the whole story with all details...

Niala was seated in the office, having arrived a little late due to handling some personal business - the letter that her father had supposedly written her laying on her desk off to the side. She too had been keeping an eye on what was going on, a frown on her face. Things were definitely turning out strange around here - zombies and cults and aliens... what could possibly come next?

She didn't even want to think of it. She just hoped it wasn't anything worse than what was going on right now.

As usual Niala was in one of her usual 'summer' style comfortable dresses with a cup of frozen hot chocolate that had a lot of whipped cream on the top in her hand, sipping some of the delicious mostly frozen liquid through the straw as she waited for Ka'lara and V to return.

Opening the window, Vigilante entered the office and released Ka'lara. He'd then collapse to the floor while his suit came off of him and returned into the compression device. Matt's nose and mouth were bleeding, and he was heavily sweating. His whole body stung.

"Arrrhhh... stupid alien kid...geez..." he mumbled, nursing his ribs, his sides, his face. He hadn't been in a fight so rough since the days of training at the academy. After he recovered, he'd really have some work to do. He had to further improve the suit. He had to bring out the true potential of the nanoids.

He'd won, but it didn't really feel like a victory, since he was lying in the floor like this, in pain, beaten up by an alien of all things. If that kid ever showed up again, he'd be ready for him next time...

Cala had likewise made it to the office a bit too late: not that she could have honestly got in on that action anyway. She had no way to be protected against such an extreme environment, and she didn't think anyone would have let her go over there anyway considering what she had already gone through.

So, she had arrived in the office and took up a spot leaning on a nearby wall, watching the same thing as Junior and Niala. She could see that it looked like V had won and was carrying Ka'lara - the apparent new girl - out of Ground Zero. But, was this really the end? Or was this alien going to rise up like some undead creature and chase them down?

When Matt made it through the window and released Ka'lara before collapsing Cala moved across the room as fast as she could honestly go. She knelt down next to him, worried. "The hell kind of alien species has kids that can do that kind of shit?"

Ka'lara was flown out of Ground Zero and back to Darkman Tower where The Vigilante entered in through a window and released her before he collapsed on the ground. A girl with purple and black colored hair was across the room in no time at all to kneel down next to him and Ka'lara got out of her way. She figured the girl was probably his girlfriend or something, and she had no interest in getting between someone worried about a loved one.

She saw that Junior was still in the office as was a female she had seen around the tower but hadn't actually met officially - though she knew that the girl's name was Niala and she was basically the one that ran things when the boss man was out of the tower.

While she was sure that the purple haired female's question wasn't exactly directed towards her Ka'lara decided to answer anyway, "Not sure, but that kid meant business. If it wasn't for whatever it was that he did to cause himself to glow like that we probably wouldn't have made it out of there so easily." She scratched the back of her head, frowning. She knew she was likely going to have some bumps and bruises that would show up within a few hours but she didn't care about that - what she did care about was how easily a little kid was able to whoop their asses. "Even two on one didn't seem to bother this kid. I have a feeling, given all the shit that kid was talking, that this isn't the last we're going to see of him - not after he got his ass handed to him like that."

Matt came in and went down. So it appeared that whatever that person was over there was more trouble than he looked, if he was able to put Matt in this condition, even with that new suit on. He was only a kid to top that off?

He listened to Ka'lara's explanation. From what she was saying, Vigilante had to resort to his new Super Mode just to beat the kid. They were having trouble fighting him even though it was a handicap match. There was also the chance that this kid could come back looking for round 2.

Jr got up and came around the desk to look at them. Matt looked the worst - he was bleeding from his nose and mouth. From the way he was holding his body, he looked to be in extreme pain. How could a little kid get the strentgh to hurt him through that suit?

He looked at Ka'lara next. She didn't look as bad, but it seemed as if she'd taken a beating too. "Damn... I think I shoulda went over there myself after all," he said, feeling guilty now. "So this alien kid isn't above hitting females... What kind of info did you get from him? What all can he do that you were able to see?"

Niala saw V come in, release Ka'lara, and then drop. Before she could say anything Cala was kneeling down next to him and looking worried. Niala knew she wouldn't be able to imagine his wounds fixed, or anything along those lines, due to whatever stopped powers and abilities from working on him.

Niala's face took on a worried expression. This worried expression increased as she listened to Ka'lara begin to explain about this kid. How was such a kid so dangerous? Where there more where he came from? Niala kept quiet, wanting to give V and Ka'lara a chance to explain what they knew.

V didn't want Cala seeing him like this, so the situation turned embarrassing. He didn't want to look lame in front of her, so he quickly fought his way back to his feet, even though it hurt like hell. He used the desk to hold himself up while reaching into his pocket and sliding a small flash drive across it. "...Recorded the fight on there," he said, wiping the blood from his nose.

"The kid... he can fly... from the strength of his blows, he a seasoned martial artist... He can make himself glow, and it's my guess that while he's doing that, he's becoming faster and stronger... He could vanish into thin air... He could project some kind of force from his body that can blow away incoming attacks... Be-before I took him out, it looked like he was bringing energy into his hands... I donno what he was about to do, but it couldn't have been good..."

He just wanted to go lie down somewhere. Being all beaten up in front of girls, it wasn't an enjoyable experience. He kept having to wipe blood from his nose. If the kid came back, it wouldn't be the same thing the second time around. This much was for certain. He decided on this with a frown, looking out the window in the direction of Ground Zero...

Cala watched as Matt got to his feet, leaning on the desk before handing a flash drive over to Junior. She was curious to see the fight in detail but more worried about Matt. She stood back up and listened to Matt explain all that this alien kid could do. He was capable of doing something that caused his speed and strength to increase, and was capable of other things too. The kid definitely sounded like serious business.

Could this kid end up coming to Edge? Would he be stronger when he did? Cala folded her arms across her chest, shifting from one foot to another - this situation reminded her of the argument she had got into with Devon over the robotic suit that Devon wanted Cala to bring with her everywhere she went... maybe she should? She didn't have it on her now but if there was an alien who could whoop ass like that wandering around then maybe it was in her best interest to bring it with.

Ka'lara kept quiet as The Vigilante got to his feet, leaned on the desk, and handed over a flash drive while saying that he recorded the fight. He then went into detail on what he had seen that the kid was capable of pulling off. When The Vigilante mentioned the last move that the kid had been trying to pull off when The Vigilante had gone super mode and whooped his ass.

Ka'lara tapped her chin thoughtfully. "It looked like the Aura Sphere I was making: that's when I pull a big amount of chakra - or chi - into my hands and then unleash it. It's... destructive, to say the least. It looked like he was trying to pull something like that off. The kid sure seemed capable of using chi - or whatever it was that he might call it."

"He definitely was a seasoned fighter." Ka'lara frowned, scratching her head again and feeling the sting of her own injuries but ignoring it. "You know, I've been kind of slacking for the past seven years I've been here. I never really had to worry about anything because the only people I had to worry about were ordinary people who got a little too drunk and rowdy. But... if people like this kid are lurking around perhaps it's time I go find my old sensei. I heard Spook was over in Konoha... maybe I should take a trip over there and do some training. I have a feeling this kid's going to do the same if he can recover from his injuries, and I want to be ready in case he comes seeking revenge."

Jr went and sat down again, inserting the flash drive into a slot on the side of the desk and bringing up a screen. He could see what the kid looked like in clear detail, and saw everything that Vigilante described it...

The kid could fly.

The kid was definitely a good fighter.

The kid could make his body glow, and from the looks of things, power himself up.

When Ka'lara tried kicking him, he seemed to vanish and appear behind her. He couldn't really see it in detail since this was a video, but it looked like a tremendous burst of speed.

When Vigilante tried to hit him with that sticky stuff, a force came from his body and blew it away.

Before Vigilante finished him off, he gathered a large amount of energy into his hands. It looked like he was about to unleash it.

It all made Jr take a look of shock. There are aliens out there like this? Where even the kids were this strong? Jr could only imagine how troublesome a full grown adult would be. "...Yeah... that might be a good idea, Ka'lara..." said Jr. "Hell...If I don't have to resort to dealing with this guy myself, I might have to call dad in... Man, what a bother. Here I was expecting some green man in foil pants going 'take me to your leader' or something... Listen, i'll make sure the both of you are well compensated for this. I'm really sorry for the trouble..."

Jr looked ashamed then. Vigilante looked hurt, and was probably struggling to stay on his feet so that he didn't look bad in front of all these girls. Ka'lara had to be feeling the pain too, but she was doing well to hide this fact.

Niala watched the video of the fight between the alien and Vigilante and Ka'lara. The fight looked insane, and even though the odds were definitely in their favor it was obvious to see that this kid wasn't put down so easily. Niala's frowned deepened and she turned her attention onto the computer in front of her.

She started pressing buttons and pulled up several video feeds of the area of Ground Zero. In the distance she could see a large circular ball rise up into the air and go shooting off. Frowning deeply now she switched feeds, tracking and following the ball. She watched as this ball, or whatever it was likely called, shot right over to Neutral City. "I do believe the alien is still alive and well...", she said as she hit the rewind button and pulled the video feed up on a screen for everyone in the office to see so that they too could watch as the ball left Ground Zero and traveled to Neutral.

Niala knew that Neutral City was a 'lawless' place, unprotected by any sort of laws that stunted what people could do over there, so she simply shook her head, wondering if that city would still be standing soon. "Training and bettering yourself does seem like a good idea.", Niala commented, wondering if Vigilante was going to end up doing the same thing.

Niala brought up a screen that showed the kid leaving in what he assumed to be a spaceship. Matt let out a growl-like sound. The kid was still alive... but why was he going to Neutral City?

He couldn't worry about that. That kid was going to want round 2. Vigilante would have to get ready for him. "No way, Jr," Matt said, not really caring about money or anything at the moment. "You and your pops, I don't want you to have to get involved. If anybody's gonna take that kid out, it's gonna be me...just you watch."

With that said, he was determined to improve his new suit and also the Nanoids to their fullest potential. Matt turned and walked out of the room then, without another word.
