Company Matters, Finale [Open][NR]

The Loyal Butler would be waiting at the front gate to take care of any luggage he had. He'd have to have the usual meeting and go over the rules. Warn him about the dead zone, give him a pendant so he didn't make a mistake and off himself. Then maybe he could get to know this kid. See if he'd open up, at least while in the Tower. Alec didn't think he'd really walk around suited up all the time.

Behind the desk he sat smoking one of his "cigars." the office was foggy like usual. A holographic screen was in mid-air nearby, showing the footage from many camera angles of Vigilante and Cala's crazy chase through the streets. An ass ton of glass damage, streets with torn up pavement... Yeah. Will definitely have to get to work on some sort of matter manipulation machine to go out there and fix all this damage.

So while waiting to see if someone would come by the office to feed him the next meal of drama, or for V's and Cala's return, or just any reason at all, Alec opened the left hand bottom drawer on his desk to pull out a maintenance kit that had many parts, and the prototype of an RC bomb car.

Cala jumped down from the nearby roof top, having made it to Darkman Tower rather quickly. She landed in a crouch lightly on the pavement below and stood up, glancing about to see if V had made it here before her. She really hadn't been paying much attention: far too amused by her own running experience to be paying that much attention: free running was always awesome and relaxing and it also gave her a moment to think about all of the things going on in her head.

She'd wait for V, then lead him inside as she had before for the loyal butler to take his things if he allowed him to, and then to the elevator, figuring Alec probably had more to discuss with him. She slipped her leather jacket off as she walked down the hall that led to Mister Kane's office, and threw it over her arm. She opened up the office door, leaving it open for V to follow her in. She took the same chair she had as before, sprawling comfortably once more.

She looked to Mister Kane, curiously. "Is Demitria planning to hang around for a while? I think Devon could do with some social interaction with people her age." She figured if anyone would know if she was sticking around for a while or not it would be him.

The stares he got from some of the buildings he ran past were awesome. A kid in a robotic suit of armor running and hopping across the tops of buildings like something out of a comic book, carrying what looked like a coffin, along with a hot 400 year old Vampire girl. Living the comic book and the possible chance of making out with this girl was what made it so awesome.

He landed in front of the gate in a crouch, using his left arm to keep his balance by placing it out before him while he landed in the fashion that cracked the cement and caused the scenery to tremble. If the butler guy thought he could take the coffin capsule up into the building on his own? Fine. It was time for a meet with the Boss, to let him know the situation.

V followed Cala up through the huge Tower once again, to the office of the Boss Alec Kane. No one else was in the office this time. Already knowing what would eventually be asked of him, he pressed 2 different buttons and the mechanical way that his suit folded itself into tiny pieces and stored itself away in a special carrying case went underway. The suit took itself off to reveal his Alter Ego, dressed in a purple Pokemon Gengar hoodie, grey cargo pants and black kicks. An 'average looking kid' was what his gran once said;brown eyes and black messy hair.

"I should introduce myself properly Boss, my name is Matthew Black. When i'm not wearing that suit most just call me Matt," he said.

"Yeah... Demi is going to be here in the tower, from what I understand, she's going to dig in here for a while. I don't care. Amaranth is on the warpath behind all of this mess, so she asked them to leave. She has the water boiling so hardcore that it looks like it's snowing over there, but if I know Jr he's gonna say something silly to make her start laughing or something."

The video feed was still up from one of the satellites that showed the hurricane that was just waiting in the background of Sugure Island to rip it apart, and the massive amounts of steam from the boiling waters. Alec watched The Vigilante take off his armor suit in a strange fashion to show what he really looked like, and to tell him what his real name was. Did Cala do something to the kid to make him so open and trusting now? This was surely surprising, as Alec once thought that Cala would be even worse than Demi was, and it was proving to be exactly the opposite. He'd have to do something to reward her sooner or later.

Alec typed several commands into his computer and was soon looking at Matt's whole family. His parents were dead, killed somehow? It was a cold case. No leads, no suspects. Thomas and Martha Black, both in their late 80's, large house in the suburbs. A few..."adjustments" that took just a several few seconds would ensure that all of their utilities were mysteriously paid off and would stay on indefinitely. He'd also arrange for a monthly credit transfer into their accounts, and someone from the bank to go to their home and answer any questions.

"Matt...Alright. The butler is on his way up with your things, so I take it everything went well back home. I just wanted to go over a few rules, and give you something.

Alec opened the top drawer on his desk, pulling from it a necklace with a pendant in the shape of the letter "C." He slid it across the desk in the direction of Matt.

Necklace:

"I'm making you a Hitman, just like Cala. This entire city is under the effect of a phenomena created by my father called the "Dead Zone." Attempting to do certain things like teleport, manipulate reality, open gateways to other dimensions and cause widespread destruction are illegal, and will cause the Dead Zone to instantly vaporize you. Wearing that pendant will let you bypass those rules, but never try to teleport into or out of this building, even with the pendant. If you're able to teleport, that is."

Cala listened carefully as Alec explained the situation with Amaranth and her island. She blinked a few times, head tilting to the side as she pondered exactly what was going to happen to Sugure no Shima if Mister Kane's son didn't get her to calm down. She also found herself making a mental note to do her best to never, ever, piss Amaranth off to that point. God knew what she could do if she was capable of making the sea boil and a hurricane rage just by being angry.

"Ah..." Well, at least Devon would have someone her own age to hang out with for a while at least, or maybe longer, depending on if Demitria decided to stay on a more permanent basis or not: she wouldn't put it past her Malkavian friend.

She then found herself being distracted from her own thoughts by Matt once more taking off his suit. Her grin grew slightly, still unhinged and crazed as it always was when she wasn't busy trying to hide her true nature. She still thought he was super handsome, and didn't refrain from giving him a once over now that she didn't have to worry about offending his grandparents.

She remained silent, however, as she listened to Mister Kane explain that he was making Matt a hitman like herself, and then explained about the "Dead Zone", the same speech she had been given when she was given her own pendant. She reached up, twirling her pendant on the chain it hung from, a sudden idea popping into her head. "Sweeeet. Maybe we can work together then.", she said with a grin. It was an excuse to spend more time together, and a good of one as any other.

"No sir, I can't do any of the above, except the part about widespread destruction...I'll try to keep it down, but I can't really make any guarantees, anything might happen."

Matt listened to him explain this Dead Zone. It sounded scary, but as long as he had this pendant he wouldn't have to worry about a thing. He took his hood off to put the pendant on and tuck it into his shirt, deciding to never take it off. He was now a Hitman in The Company; this made him nod with a grin. What Cala suggested next made this grin even wider, leaving him to wonder what his first mission or job would be.

He said there were some rules too, so he assumed those were coming next...

"...Remember these things...There will be times where i'll need you to travel, so respect other cities. If attacked first, then by all means defend yourself, but don't go starting trouble... Don't abuse the power i've given you. Don't use this to kill innocent people. Don't try to use this on me... If you ever get it in your head to ever try to betray me... Good luck. Keep your head above water and avoid trouble, and you stay on my good side."

There were other things he wanted to ask the kid, but, right now wouldn't be appropriate. It looked to Alec that he and Cala seemed to be getting a little closer already. He'd sit back and wait to see if she could ease his secret out of him, and pick up on this bit of info once extracted.

Next, Alec slid a key across the desk next; a key that would take shape in the lock that it was inserted into, making it a unique key that only Matt could use.

"Don't lose that. On the floor below are the suites. The rooms that have green locks are rooms that are taken, red means they're available. You'll find what you brought with you waiting on that floor. If you have any questions, don't be shy. Ask me anything. Otherwise, this meeting is adjourned..."

Cala giggled softly at the idea of widespread destruction: the only reason she hadn't caused a lot herself was because she didn't go back on her word easily, and she had told Mister Kane she would try not to break anything: and that promise still stood, even though things had worked out the way they had.

When Mister Kane said that the meeting was over she stood up from her chair and stretched. "Then I think I'll go see what Devon is up to... Then maybe go do something useful and helpful." She looked back to Matt and smiled. "You're welcome to join me if you want to, maybe we can go find some bad guys to beat up or something.."

She folded her coat back over her left arm and then walked out of the office, leaving the door open for Matt to follow her if he chose to, as she headed to the elevator, planning on heading down to her suite. She was definitely going to change into something else if she was going to go whoop some bad guy ass, or whatever it was that she might end up doing.

Matt scratched all of the rules into his memory. He wasn't going to break any of them: killing innocents was the number one thing he wouldn't do, nor would he abuse anything. Betraying Alec Kane had to be the best way he could think of to commit suicide. Trouble, well...there was no guarentee that he would keep out of that. He'd do his best at the very least.

He picked up the key next, looking it over before shoving it into his pocket. He found himself anxious to go and check out his new place, all to himself with no nagging grandparents. Stay up all night eating junkfood time? Yes, yes.

"No, no questions, sir. I'll do my best not to dissapoint. I'll go get settled in now... Oh yeah, before I forget." he reached into his jacket pocket and slid a microchip across the desk toward Alec. "That'll let you tune in to my personal frequency if you need to get a hold of me."

He gave a wave and turned to walk out of the Boss' office after Cala the sexy insane vampire. Down the hall, an elevator ride down a floor, to the suites. "Oh i'm up for going to beat up some thugs. There's been alot of them hanging around Old Edge recently. Gimmie a sec to get my stuff in."

Finding an unoccupied suite was easy enough, as was dragging in the coffin from the end of the hall. It was just as nice as he'd seen on that video upstairs. He felt like he was dreaming. After a quick tour of the place and figuring out which bedroom he'd settle for, he unpacked there.
