Starlette had arrived over an hour ago at her shop. The security was set up and the buzzer was active and working: to gain access to her shop whoever arrived would have to ring the buzzer, wait for her to look at their face through the video camera above the door, and then be buzzed in by Starlette – or whoever was behind the counter and working at that time. It was the same set up of her shop in Edge, and an idea that she had definitely liked. It allowed Starlette to filter who came into her shop, as well as it would help her to keep too many people from entering at one time which meant she could keep her eye on people better and ensure that no one was shop lifting.
The shop was littered with purple and black shelves and tables from which a variety of scrolls, potions, ingredients, and various magical objects and artifacts were displaced. The counter with the register and computer were off in the back left corner with several purple colored stools for the workers to sit on.
The walls, floor, and ceiling were black, and purple colored lightbulbs rested in various fixtures around the room. The shop had two large windows in the front from which purple and black lettering read “Afterlight”.
Behind the counter and register was a purple curtain that hide the steps that led upstairs as well as the backroom from being able to be seen.
Starlette was seated behind the counter, currently pushing her glasses up on her nose as she often did. She was dressed in black leggings, black leather boots, and a sweater dress that was off-white in color. Her long light blond hair was braided in two pigtails that hung down her shoulders. Her attention was focused on the computer, finishing going through the inventory – though she had ensured she had the order waiting for her first customer. Every so often she would glance towards the surveillance monitors, waiting to see a face to go along with the voice she had spoken with an hour or longer ago.
Starlette began to hum along with the music that was playing softly from the speakers that lined the shop walls; Enya - Only Time.
