Chilling with a Friend [Vigilante, or Invite][NR]

Cala slid her phone shut and then slipped it back into her pocket, knowing it wasn't going to take Niala long to get here at all. Soon enough she heard the knock on the door and watched as Matt got up to go answer it. A grin slid across her face, glad that the girl was as helpful as she was. If she could accomplish this for them it would help them both, greatly.

"Hello, Niala.", she said after V had opened the door. She knew she had recently creeped Niala out, and maybe this would help also solve that problem, too. "We had an idea... but we need your help to fix it, like I said in my text." She'd wait till the girl was in the room and the door was shut to explain more, or else V could explain it. It didn't matter much to her.

She went and sat herself down in the same chair she had sat in before, once more folding her legs beneath her in an Indian style position. Elbows rested on the arms of the chair as she folded her still glove-covered hands in her lap. Once comfortable she turned her mismatched gaze back on the other two, waiting.

Niala waved as the door was opened and she gave a nod to the Vigilante's words. "Aye, I'm Niala. Cala text me and said that you guys needed my help with something." She glanced around him at Cala, both eyebrows raising as her curiosity went up. She had no idea what these two could possibly need her help with, but she figured that she would find out soon enough.

She entered into the suite, arms folding across her chest as she gave up on trying to get her staticy hair to lay flat. She made a mental note not to touch anything: not wanting to accidentally pick up on any random place memories: if her abilities could even work around the pair of them - she wasn't willing to find out by accident. "So, what do you guys need my help with?", she asked, turning her red colored gaze to the pair of them.

Matt closed the door and walked back to the living room. What was Cala going to have this child do? Niala seemed to be another one of these 'more than meets the eye' kind of people. Was she thousands of years old? Could she blink her eyes and cause someone to turn inside out? He had no idea what Niala was capable of, but whatever it was he was sure it made him look like a small insignificant little nothing.

He didn't say anything as he sat on the floor again, feeling like he couldn't compare if someone even younger than he was could pull off miracles, or make enchantments, supposedly like this little girl could, assuming this was the reason Cala texted Niala. It wasn't that he was thinking they were freaks anymore, just now he was beginning to feel like he couldn't compare to any of them. What they could do was natural, with just a thought, whereas all of his great powers and strengths were man-made.

Ranks even as a super human. He didn't say anything or change his expression. Matt sat there in silence waiting for the two girls to start talking, while on the inside slowly beginning to feel out of place.

Cala stared at Matt for a moment as she watched him sit back down before turning her full attention on Niala... and then she blinked. "Niala.. why do you look like you shoved your finger into a light socket?" Her head tilted a bit to the left as she stared at the static-filled hair the girl seemed to be sporting. She was surprised she didn't see small sparks of electricity shooting off of her at random.

She threw another glance at Matt, her head tilting in the opposite direction before her mismatched gaze turned back to Niala. "By the way, I was hoping you might be able to help us with this idea we were speaking of... a way to stop regeneration from happening in opponents who otherwise would heal or regenerate lightning fast like myself. Only, it can't be a poison, seeing as most super creatures are immune to anything along those lines. So, I was hoping maybe you had some ideas or could help. You're always creating and building things... So, I wanted to pick your brain."

Niala watched him sit down and then looked back to Cala as she listned to the question she was asked. A mischievous grin spread across her young face, but she didn't respond right away, and instead listened to Cala explain what her help was needed with. "To answer your question... that robot thing I'm trying to create isn't going so well, and I crossed the wrong wires and got myself shocked... Flew across the room from it, too. So, I've spent the past twenty minutes trying to get the static off myself so I don't go around shocking people by accident." She giggled softly.

"As far as your idea... I think it could be doable. It sounds to me like you need something to break down the ability, to stop it from working. I've heard of people who can block certain abilities: like people who can block psychics like myself from being able to find them with any sort of equipment or magic, or mental abilities. I could probably help you guys make something like that that works against healing and regeneration... what item are you planning on giving the ability to? Or is just straight flesh to flesh? Because flesh to flesh is going to be a heck of a lot harder to do than if you give it to an item..."

She looked to the both of them, waiting for someone to answer her question, at least until she got distracted by the living room and looked around, still waiting for her answers.

She was a Psychic...and she could build things just like he could too? A robot thing? Man. That was worse than a kick in the balls.

People once called him a child prodigy, but now he felt like an old man. There was someone even younger, smarter, and perhaps even stronger than him too. He surely began to feel way out of place, and let his gaze fall over toward one of the windows facing the Suburbs. If he stared hard enough, he could make out his entire house, even from all the way up here. He started to think. Was having naggy grandparents a bad thing? Was living in the basement? Was having no friends, (besides Stretch) no girls to smile at him, and being broke, eating bologna sandwiches really that bad?

His mind wandered, so he didn't hear most of what Cala or Niala had said except "what item are you planning on giving the ability to?" and in that case he reached into his pocket to dig around for a moment before he came back out with one of his chips. Still with no expression on his face that would give away how he'd started to feel while in this building, and knowing any supernatural means of reading his mind wouldn't work, he handed the chip over toward Niala, while still remaining silent.

Matt started to feel like he didn't belong here after all to be honest. If there were kids this age able to pull off amazing things even more amazing that he could, Then he...who was he? Why was he here? Without his armor or Nanoids, he was just a human, right? A sexy Vampire had a thing for him yeah, but who's to say she wouldn't tear off one or both of his legs when she got mad? Alot of money was handed to him so he hadn't really had the chance to think all of this through...

She watched Matt hand over the chip and then turned her attention back to Niala, curiously. "You're... building a robot... by hand? Instead of well.. cheating? I mean, you could just magically make it work, right?" She was confused to put it lightly, having no idea why Niala had risked electrocution to build something by hand: which she was assuming wasn't going too well for the girl at all.

She stopped with her questions, however, figuring she didn't want to distract the girl too much, or make it too hard for her to concentrate. She threw another glance to Matt, wondering why he was suddenly so untalkative. He'd been fine conversing with her before Niala showed up... maybe he was shy or something? She didn't know, but figured she might ask after Niala helped them and left, not that she wanted to make it seem like she was using the girl or anything.

Niala took the chip from Vigilante and stared at it for a moment, turning it over in her hands several times over again. She had some ideas in her head that could work, but which one would be the best to use? Poison was automatically out: too many people were wandering around with all sorts of immunities to this, that, and the next bloody thing. It was almost pitiful, really... evolution to the point of immortality. Where was the risk? Where was the sense of danger? It took the fun out of things, really, at least in her opinion. So, poison was out... something else would have to work.

As Cala began to speak again, asking her another question, she looked up from the chip she had been handed and over to Cala. A frown slipped across her face for a moment, as she thought how best to describe things. "I... Well, I don't exactly know what I am, Cala. I mean, I know what I'm called... but it means little to nothing to me. So, recently I've found myself not wanting to use my abilities, at least not on myself. Using my abilities to help other people is a different story, like when I helped Demitria. But, when it comes to myself.. I'd rather not 'cheat' as you put it. Especially because I've gotten so used to doing things that way that well... I believe that's why I'm having trouble making my robot work. I could make it work by cheating.. but where's the fun in that? Where's the sense of actually accomplishing something without outside means? I want to do it with my brain, or the help of someone else', but not with magic."

When she finished speaking she looked back to the chip. This would have to be done by magic, or... some sort of mental manipulation. That much she knew. She could easily put the information into the chip that would cause a negation field to spring up, specifically targeting the regeneration and healing abilities of others. She began to concentrate, using one of her well used and well known abilities to begin to influence the information on the chip, add in a negation field of sorts that would cover the area touched by whatever the chip entered into: a field that would last for a very long time... and which would render any opponent that they faced capable of taking damage.

No clue what she was doing. She did it without the use of tools or another computer to enter the data though. So cheating. As long as it took him to even make that chip, and this little girl was putting something that would probably take him years onto it in the matter of seconds. A small shit stain in life you are, Matt Black. A small barely noticeable stain in a tower of Gods.

"Thanks," was the only word that came out of his mouth, assuming Niala was done and handing the chip back to him. When she said what she said, she had a point...but on the other hand, what was the use in trying to act normal when you had the powers of a God? Why waste time trying to fix something with your hands when all you had to do was pretty much think of it fixed your mind, and it was? He didn't understand. He never would, he was only a human, barely 15 years old while most of these people had lived for thousands of years...

He put the chip in his pocket and wondered if he'd even use it. He suddenly found himself wanting to talk to Gran. Whenever he explained himself, she always had something to say that made everything right.

Cala watched Niala hand over the chip to Matt and then she could only stare for a moment. Niala didn't want to use and abuse her powers: unless it came to helping other people. What had changed her mind? What had made her suddenly like that? Was it even her business? No, no it wasn't. If Niala didn't want to use her abilities it was her own business as to why; she wasn't that good of friends with the girl, in fact she was still under the impression that she freaked the girl out slightly.

"Thanks, Niala. Appreciate the help." She stopped staring at the girl, not wanting to make her feel uncomfortable, and went back to thinking about Matt and the fact that he had suddenly become so quiet; still she wasn't going to pry, especially not with Niala in the room.

She handed the chip over to Vigilante and then nodded to them both. She looked between the two for a moment and then smiled. "Not a problem.. I'm going to go back to working on my robot... let me know if you need anything else.", she said softly.

Figuring she would just show herself out and turned around and walked over to the door, she didn't want to over stay her welcome, and the male was being awfully quiet, which was making her feel as if she made him uncomfortable: the same feeling she had got the first time she had met Cala. She opened it softly, walked out, and closed it just as softly behind herself. She then turned and walked back up the hall, heading back to her suite, and failing robot project.

The girl left out soon after. He had nothing against her really, it's just that she made him feel small after feeling like one of these giants around here; after feeling like he mattered. He didn't really, did he? Not if Alec had people like that working for him.

He didn't feel like being nominated for the Academy Award for best drama. He didn't feel like creating some unnecessary situation with Cala either. For now, he just wanted to go home. Talk to Gran. If she agreed, he'd move back home. Back to being lonely, nobody and forgotten about. It was what he was used to, and it looked like the best thing now.

He stood up from the floor, straightening out his clothes and keeping his stare away from Cala. "I should go home," he said, pressing the buttons on his belt, causing his suit to cover his form. "I think I forgot some things, and I need to ask my grandmother something."

He opened the living room window and put a foot up on the sill. Preparing to leap out right here he went on to say "Shouldn't be too long, but Gran tends to yammer on and on for hours...Maybe i'll run into you later or something heh?"

Vigilante jumped out into a dive bomb. He moved faster and faster as he approached the ground from 999 stories up, and began to glide with his cape about halfway down. A black blur could be seen speeding toward the Suburban District...

Cala blinked, taken aback at V's sudden decision to leave. She listened to his words and watched him go without a response back. She then stared at the floor for a moment. It felt like something was wrong; she couldn't get into his head, she didn't want to pry even if she could... but something just felt off. She unfolded her legs from underneath of herself and walked out of his suite without word.

She head back to her own suite, figuring that perhaps it was time to see what all Devon was capable of doing with those Nanoids in her, and figuring her sister needed some time out of their suite and away from the light switch...
