The Hunt is On [NR][Flynn, Ryuukishi, The Vigilante, or Invite]

Through the streets he ran; past human and vampire and all the creatures of the city. His tiger form was fast; and it had the better sense of smell. There was also the benefit of not being stopped; people tended to flee from a sprinting tiger that was as large as he was. The run gave him time to think, to plan. The Ryuukishi had agreed to work with him; that was good. While not the best indoor fighter; his enhanced senses would be handy; and if nothing else; he would make for a perfect outside guard. And really... it felt someone nice to work with a creature he could understand again; and one that could understand him; not just linguistically. They where of the same breed; really; elder races long forgotten, of the same stock and world. It was a refreshing thought.

The building was approached silently enough; paw pads and soft flesh on dirt made little noise. Even on the streets he made little sound; his claws where kept up and away, not clanking on the rocky surface. Circle the area; nose high and eyes closed; his sonar would penetrate the building well enough; at least into the areas that where not shielded from it. Good enough for the public areas; low security wings. A mental map; 3 dimensional and fairly well complete was forming; the dark areas where shielded from his senses and would have to be manually searched.

10 laps; more then enough; he was ready to enter the building. For a moment however, he paused; allowing the Dragon-kin to approach; allowing him to get ready. A soft growl; his warning that he was entering the compound was released; all that would be given. The dragon could set up outside or follow him; he did not care which.

Across the rooftops the Ryuukishi moved, quickly and deftly leaping from one to another. Wrath was in hand as the male moved, occasionally used to pole vault himself further along. Clawed greaved dug into the rooftops as he made his way, marking his path.

This mission wasnt needed, but it was welcomed. He wanted to work, something to occupy his mind and time. This would serve nicely, perhaps. Add on the benefit of working with someone like him, someone from an older time, one whom he could relate to? Yes, this day would be interesting.

His forked tongue slide out, tasting the air briefly.

Hmm. Seemed the Daoine had come by. Very well, he musn't be late.

A leapt down to the street, legs bent to absorb impact and unleashing it once more to push him down the street. As he came upon INC HQ, he slid to a stop next to the large tiger.

"Dude you have company!"

"Who is it?"

"2 of the super freaks just left Darkman Tower. There's isn't any info on either in what you sent me. One looks like a tiger, the other one looks like Fabio with a spear. If you don't wanna fight I think you should get out of there, like now!"

His greed had gotten the best of him, he'd spent too long snooping. Someone could have zeroed in on him by now. He didn't feel like going head to head with a super freak, and all options pointed to running away. So while leaping from the chair and making to the stairs that lead up to the third floor, he activated his scanners and quickly located the 2 freaks outside.

A tiger. A BIG tiger. There was another guy, built like the Terminator that had a spear for a weapon. No info was coming up on either of them but the threat level was massive. So, it looked like the head freak sent 2 of his little freaks to come and deal with him. Vigilante wondered if they could keep up with him while grinning under his mask. Leave these two freak shows in the dust and be home in time for Granny's meatloaf.

Vigilante took off toward the east end of the building. If he knew animals, he knew that the tiger at least would probably have an enhanced sense of smell. If he could get somewhere and take off his costume he'd be in the clear, as his regular clothes didn't have the same scent as his armor. At the far end of the building he traversed a staircase to the roof and went into a crouch, continuing to use his scanner to keep track of the super freaks...A hole to dive through would present itself soon. He was patient enough to wait for it.

It would seem they had been found. Rather quickly at that; interesting. Kane was right, this human had some tricks. Not that he was being particularly strict about his stealth, but if he had been noticed; then likely the Dragon-kin had been as well. Or maybe the reaction was to Ryuukishi? He could not know just yet; but better to thread on the side of them both having been noticed then guess. Likely a sensor had been tripped; or a camera well hidden had seen one of them. Oh well.

Glad for his sonar; he increased the intensity of the scans; boosting the power and the rate at which he sent out the pings; the target was moving through areas he could see; towards the edge of the building.... but upwards as well? Hmmm... must be heading for a roof access point. Excellent. Higher was good; with a Dragon-kin around. Higher meant more room to work; clear skies for Ryuukishi and less in the way of his sonar and his arrows. He would be... slightly slower; but not by much.

A soft roar; it would almost blend into the background noise; but Ryuukishi would notice it; understand it. His kind had been created with an innate understanding of the languages of the elder races; he would understand it perfectly. "Moving outside; roof access likely. Be ready, chase likely."

Simple, too the point.

From where he had paused; legs began working again; he'd resume the circling; make it seem like he knew nothing; had stopped only to let his partner catch up. Keep up the ruse; give little away. Especially that he was more then he seemed; either of them where. That would be the trump card; of sorts. A giant tiger... a beast only; smell and sight based. Limited. Completely false.

Blonde human; spear and muscles. nothing special to see; or so it would seem. Easily mistaken as the 'tiger's' master; or something.

This would be fun. Around and around, then around some more; running a channel into the soft dirt; building speed and power in his legs; ready to spring, ready to strike. Let's see you escape this trap; human.

The reply was a mere nod; he'd understood the tiger perfectly. Legs were bent into a shallow crouch; he wouldnt need alot of power for this Jump. Superb physical condition, far superior to that of humans; this is what the Ryuukishi were built for.

As the limbs and muscules were uncoiled, the energy was released, propelling the male airborn, aimed for the top of the INC HQ. As Flynn patrolled the exterior; he would settle himself upon the roof; the materials used on it would crack under the weight of his impact. Surely the armor he over his body was heavy? Scale armor, yessir!

Those clawed-toed greaves scracted the roof as he moved over it, the normal blue eyes turning to a light golden color as he instictively gripped Wrath tighter. Tongue flitting out, tasting the air for signs, clues of the target's location. The air held many scents, some familiar, some not so much. He could taste Flynn on the air; easy. But there was something else, something that wasnt part of the smells of the cityscape...

Maybe the tiger didn't know he was there. It kept on circling the place. He wasn't stupid; there was more to these two than met the eye. V didn't want to find out. If he just jetted off as is, the tiger would probably chase him down, and who knew what that big guy with the spear could do? It was starting to look like one of them would have to go down.

By watching the big guy bend into a shallow crouch let V know that he was about to jump. Those legs push the big man up into the air, at the same time a thought hit him: this big dude wouldn't be able to control himself while airborne with all of that armor on, (or nothing was listed that would allow him to) and using some sort of power against V, that didn't work. This looked like the opening he needed.

A Vigilante rocket launched at this big guy while he was up in the air. The computer had already calculated the data and plotted a trajectory that would allow him to intercept the big man while he was in the air, wide open. There was that spear, but this maneuver was executed with the speed that would likely let him avoid being hit with it, and V doubted that this one would even have the time to notice and react while in the air. His own Enhanced Strength added on to the strength boost of his armor had him within range of Ryuukishi in under a second, in the blink of an eye.

The impact of a left straight punch to the exposed mid-section would probably change the trajectory of the big man. If it hurt him or not, with double enhanced strength, V didn't know, and didn't care, but no one was invincible. The Critical Impact blow would shake up his insides, knock the wind from his lungs and put him in a daze under normal circumstances. V was left to assume that blows to the armor would cause large dents and rattle his ribcage, possibly fracturing the bones if not breaking them (Since it is listed nowhere that the armor offered any specific protection against physical attacks) and as such, a volley of airborne punches would come after the rocket body blow, aimed at no particular place along the torso. Quick, focused attacks designed to penetrate his defenses, destroy his ribcage and knock him off balance while he was still in the air.

At the peak of the jump, after dozens of body blows that would all but destroy that armor and have the big man puking blood by now, is when the vicious uppercut would be sent toward the bottom of Ryuukishi's chin. Double enhanced strength was enough to tear steel apart as if it were paper, so surely his jaw, if not completely shattered at the least, would probably be knocked back into his throat; the impact of the blow sending Ryuukishi's body into a violent series of back flips where it would crash at high velocity into the building below. If any powers or supernatural abilities were attempted to counter or avoid Vigilante, Ryuukishi would find that this was impossible due to the negation ability that surrounded him.

How this played out was dependent on how he'd deal with that tiger down there next, with every movement adding to the kinetic energy that had begun to be gathered by his suit...

This person... this... this idiot... in the air.... oh, this would be fun. To take to the air against a Dragon-kin; never a smart move. They where masters of the skies; just as they should be. The human seemed to be able to handle attacking; but unless he was sporting some serious upgrades; he would do little against an elder Dragon-kin's skin alone; forget the armor. It would be interesting to see how Ryuukishi took this turn of events.

Staying on the ground wasn't going to do either of them any good anymore; he allowed himself to skid to a stop long enough to lean into languid stretch; he wasn't worried about attacks from the air; nor was he worried that they would loose the target. For all the movement; it wasn't that fast; at least not to him. Not likely Ryuukishi either; they where both naturally far superior in speed and ability to any human; if he had to guess, this human was maybe twice as fast as he should be. Possibly slightly more. Must have something to do with that suit; even from the distance between them, Flynn could hear the hum of electricity, smell the electronics and the joints working. Lovely.

To the wall he walked; a simple task to climb to the roof. Claws like his made short work of stone; strong legs carrying his bulk easily. He was on the roof in less then 5 seconds; moving to the wide open space where he had the best visual. At this point he allowed himself to shift forms; rearing onto hind legs that where suddenly bipedal; arms hanging at his side and ready to draw a blade; or flash to his shoulder for his bow and an arrow or three. Hybrid for now; his fur and skin armors that he may need at a later moment; safer then sorry, indeed. The angles where all wrong to fire an arrow; not without risking friendly fire; which he would have preferred not to do. For a moment he opened his eyes properly; taking in a full color and solid image of the target. Better to see him properly; make sure he didn't reverse them in midair before he acted.

"Enjoy the beat down; human." In the human tongue, no less. If the man could hear; he would be treated to the words; a promise of the pain that was about to be released upon him.

Upwards, towards the top of the building-- whatw as this? Trained eyes caught sight of something flying towards him at an incredible speed. It seemed that he was under attack.

This male would learn the hard way: what appeared to be a suit of armor was infact skin: the natural hide of Ryuukishi was enough to deter the mightiest of blows. He would learn, he would learn....

There was no thought as to what happened next; the Ryuukishi reacted on pure insinct: As the male drew close, the world would seem to slow down the Ryuukishi. This male, the one with the large V on his chest. Golden eyes had locked to him; an image commited to memory. The method of counter was simple; an open palm one that would deflect the strike to his midsection with ease, forcing the attacker to the left of Ryuukishi. As the male was moved, the Ryuukishi rotated himself higher into the air and coiled his legs, bringing the male underfoot, face down, in preparation something more...

This was going to be terrible; for the male with the V on his chest. The Ryuukishi were natural masters of airborn combat; it was never wise to fight someone in thier natural enviroment, even if you believed you had the upper hand.

The release would be violent, terrible. The downward kick, aimed at the small of V's back, with the force to shatter even the hardest of metals. Should the blow connect, this male, this person would be forced downward with incredible power to slam back into the roof of the Murder INC HQ, and quite likely, through it as well. But that was not all; the intial force of the downward kick would most likely sever the spinal collumn, rendering the male Vigilante paralyzed, in addition to the force of slamming into the roof possibly leaving him unconcious, or stunned. But that would not be the end if his pain: If the blow connected, Ryuukishi himself would be propelled higher into the air where the end would begin. Wrath would be brought to bear...

This entire exchange would take place in less than a second: The Ryuukishi was an old soldier, fighting since long before this male was concieved. Fighting was his life: many a creature wished to slay his elders and as such, The Ryuukishi were tasked to eliminate such threats: whether magical or not, superhuman, divine, or just a foolish knave with a sword. But this man? He was human, with a fancy suit, by the brief look of things. It was no differnt than a knight with an enchanted suite of armor....

Vigilante never went into a situation without a back-up plan. His own reflexes were far above a humans as well, due to his own conditioning and the aid of his armor. Double enhanced, as were all of his physical attributes. So, to also be able to see that this thing was preparing to counter with his own enhanced senses and the aid of his scanners, through eyes that made it look as if the world were going in slow motion... This would simply bring a grin to Matt's lips.

It appeared that whatever this thing was, it knew how to fight in mid-air. But Vigilante could /move/ while airborne, with the aid of a cape and jets in his boots, while this thing could not. Vigilante could see no wings, and any supernatural means of changing his velocity while airborne and in close vicinity of V would be rendered null and void.

So knowing it was impossible for this freak to suddenly change directions, it was exactly what he would do, using the jets in his boots, to move around his opponent with Flawless Coordination in the flightpath motion of the letter "C," giving himself a wide enough berth to avoid that spear.

Oh yeah. Big V knew how to fight in the air too.

The dropkick launched toward the exposed back of Ryuukishi; V didn't know if the Critical Impact blow executed with the combination of Double Enhanced Strength and the release of the previously stored Kinetic Energy would do any damage, he didn't care really, but the insane force delivered with the kick would surely be enough to drive him into the crap talking individual below with the speed of a god, (possibly at the exact moment the tiger man chose to flap his lips) and both of them through the roof of this building, down through each floor, and perhaps even down below ground to make a huge mess. Even if Vigilante should miss the kick, the Kinetic Force released would give Ryuukishi an incredible downward push, and launch Big V in the opposite direction.

"Stupid freaks..."

Awww... he thought they where freaks? Cute. Humans these days; really. They had no idea of their place in the world. Stupid, pitiful beasts. Barely evolved, half mutated forest apes that think they ruled the world. Such ignorance. Such presumption. So safe and superior behind his dinky little suit and tech. Oh well. Time to show him what real power was. Or rather, a taste.

A shift in his stance; simple enough; spread his weight evenly; adjust his breathing. From his shoulder he retrieved his bow and two arrows; that was all he needed. This was more a test then an attack; he was curious as to just how effective this man was; and a little way to check for anything else he was hiding. A single rune flared; Wind, on both arrows. He was going to remote trigger the effect; less chance of damaging Ryuukishi that was.

Line the shot; aim high for an arced shot; it would take a split second longer then a direct hit; but that was the point. He wasn't aiming to hit the human; just get close. Released with a twang of the string; faster then a gunshot and with a hell of a lot more force. Not even an exaggeration; by pulling the string back past the half way mark of the draw length; he traded piercing power for sheer speed; needed more then actual hitting power. Even if the male had enhanced sight; which it appeared he had something to the effect; this would be beyond it, highly so. The fastest human bullet would seem to stand still compared to these arrows; tenths of tenths of seconds needed for them to be fired and impact. The second arrow was aimed dead straight; but not for the human; rather to intersect the line of the first and trigger the rune's power. The line of the second arrow was shorter; to make up for the instant between firing; it would compensate. When the arrows intersected; roughly 10 feet from the human; the power was released in an explosion of wind like the gusts of a category 5 hurricane in all directions at once; well over 300 mph at initial blast; taking the better part of 5 seconds to subside; without the Shield rune to contain the winds they dissipated quickly enough.

However; only the greatest of flyers could handle that; no human tech had a chance. Even Avian Daoine would be knocked from the skies; as would most of the higher flight capable races. Really; only a dragon-kin had much chance to stay air born and in control; something he was banking on. Ryuukishi was nearly as old as Flynn himself; he'd had thousands of years to perfect his flight control. If anything; he could ride the winds nice and high; set up for rebound attack while the human was still attempting to regain control.

Ryuukishi never came to an agreement with me to wait the 2 days he works. He just said "Stand by." I shouldn't have to wait in a thread for 2 days, and since his return is past the deadline listed above, I will post that the attack I just executed connected.]

Vigilante felt his boots connect hard with the brute's back. The kinetic release was enough to send this big freak speeding into that tiger man below like a comet, who took no action to dodge at all. To top that off, whatever he managed to fire from that bow would have hit the big freak while on the way down, turning his own attack back against him.

Kaboom. The impact would resemble the devastation of a massive explosion. The two super freaks slammed down into the building through floor after floor in a destructive cannonball. If the effect from the arrow that was fired from the tiger freak really did what was intended, this would also mean that most of the Main Inc building would have been wiped out along with their violent plummet underground, doing them even more damage. The whole time Vigilante was progressing away from the scene at a high rapidity, sure he'd shaken his pursuers with the predicament they found themselves in. They were freaks; Vigilante knew they'd have some funky cheat code magical ability to fix themselves. He wasn't waiting around to find out.

The first battle as The Vigilante, outnumbered against 2 stronger super freaks, victorious. It was a pretty awesome feeling.
"I won... I can't believe I actually won!"

Stretch said, "You definitely should have had your butt kicked back there man, those freaks were dangerous. Good going, bro!"

"Maybe those super freaks that come and go downtown aren't all they're cracked up to be. Amateurs."

"Don't get cocky, Matt. I don't have any info on Fabio or that tiger thing, but these other freaks are dangerous. If my hunch is correct it was that Kane guy that nuked New Vegas. You probably just pissed them off big time, you'd better get back here and lay low for a while."

"Yeah, i'm on my way there now."
