Investigating the Island [Open]

Amaranth didn't want to waste too much time in checking to see if what was indeed hidden in the temple, in the center of her island, was a Piece of Eden or not. In fact, she left almost immediately after she had finished up with helping Devon on her robot triplets. She was still wrapping her head around the idea they they all almost looked exactly identical to Devon, but it wasn't her place to judge.

Upon arrival on her island she would look around, looking out for anyone with the equal armed crosses that had been mentioned. She didn't see any, in fact all she saw was the same usual vacationers that were enjoying playing in the sand and water. Amaranth wandered a good hundred yards up the beach, wanting to put as much distance between herself and everyone else as possible. When she reached her target location she looked around again and then simply sank into the sand until she completely disappeared. It was much the same way as when the island 'ate' someone, but in this instance she was in control. She moved past miles of sand, land, and water, until she reached the very center of her island which was mostly like a black void with a temple floating in the very center of it.

She had never bothered coming this deep into the island before, and therefore she approached the temple cautiously. Already she could feel an immense power coming from it, but she knew she had to look to be sure. When she reached the temple doors she found them locked. They seemed nearly impenetrable, but she was sure there had to be some sort of way inside. She thought that perhaps there might be a switch somewhere, or some sort of secret entrance, when an idea suddenly came to her: she was a ghost or at least partly one. Chuckling at her own silliness she concentrated, turning herself easily intangible.

No longer solid she moved forward and very cautiously stuck her hand out and towards the temple door. Her fingertips passed through without resistance and Amaranth sighed in relief before stepping fully through the door and into the temple itself. The place was amazing and magical all at the same time, something out of a fairy tale or perhaps from another world. She moved cautiously, looking around in awe at the splendor around her. ”Whoa, this place is amazing...”, she whispered softly.

Amaranth kept pressing forward through the beautiful temple, refusing to allow herself to get distracted from her goal of checking to see of the Piece of Eden was inside or not. Still, despite her 'job' here she was finding it hard to stay focused: the very history and knowledge that could be gained from such a place made her inner scientist want to go exploring. ”Come on, Amaranth.. stay focused.”, she muttered to herself as she pressed on deeper into the temple.

Down hallways she moved, and as she did so she realized she was being drawn to a specific room. Each time she got closer her excitement grew. Through doorways, and down hallways and passages. Down a hidden set of steps that required the pulling of a specific lever, and she was finally in the main chamber of the temple. It was clear that this had once been a place of worship – this particular area likely reserved for the priests or priestesses private practice. However, now it held a cloak looking object, or shroud, on a pedestal in the very center of a raised platform.

For anyone who was human they likely would have had to find some sort of secret lever and gone through some sort of 'test' to reach it. However, Amaranth could fly and was able to save herself time by levitating up to it. She reached out towards the cloak but didn't touch it: the power radiating from it was enormous, greater then anything Amaranth had felt before. This had to be the Piece of Eden – only it was no 'apple' like she had been assuming. Whatever this things powers were, whatever it was capable of, Amaranth was glad it was safely hidden here... no good would come of someone using the item, that much she could tell.

Amaranth backed away from it suddenly, as if afraid to touch it, as if afraid that she might want to use it herself. She shook her head and turned as she once more became intangible. She quickly left the temple, passing through the walls until she was clear of it and able to escape the 'belly' of her island. As she returned to the beaches she shuttered as she once more became solid. She would have never known that power was in her island had she not gone looking for it, and she had no urge to go back down there and mess with that thing – nor to allow anyone else to do so.

Still, as she glanced around, she knew she was going to have to explain to her father what was going on... her mother already likely knew since she was in and out of the tower so much, but she needed to tell her father about it just in case the Templar's did show up over here.
