Afterwork Trouble? [Open][NR]

"I really need to find a new job...", Ka'lara muttered under her breath as she exited out of the back door of Zero Sum and into the light-less alley way behind it. She had been working in the club since she was sixteen years old both as a bartender and as a bouncer when needed. Her particular set of skills and her knowledge meant she worked a lot due to being able to fill both positions. Still, it wasn't as fulfilling as perhaps another job could be. The most she ended up having to do on a normal night was either serving massive amounts of alcohol to humans who gave two shits about their livers, or having to manhandle an idiot out of the door that she could do with simply her pinkie finger.

When she stepped out into the cool night air she inhaled deeply; the smell of the city over-powering the smell of alcohol that always burned her nose slightly. She reached up and behind her, scooping up her hair into one hand. She finished pulling her hair up into a ponytail, securing it with the black scrunchie she had had around her wrist. She pulled her leather duster on over top of the black V-neck tank top she wore underneath; jeans just as black as her tank and feet planted firmly into a pair of steel toed boots the buckled up her ankles. She never bothered putting her coat on inside; it contained far too many weapons and the last thing she had wanted was some cop getting nosy because they spotted them on a surveillance camera or something like that. She didn't bother putting her hood up even though the air smelled like it was threatening rain - a little water never hurt anyone, unless of course you were the wicked witch, and she was far worse than that.

She turned away from the door and started walking down the alleyway, hands in her pockets, and boots making the softest of sounds against the pavement...

Remiel knew that a strange female worked at Zero Sum and had stalked her for some time. Remiel was determined to rid all of the evil from the world and to be as helpful as he could be so he was determined to kill this female. Remiel was standing in the alley way while using the darkness as cover when he saw her leave. Remiel let her get started on her way down the alley when he started to follow after her quietly, planning in his head what he planned to do to her to kill her and destroy the evil inside of her.

He sensed hostile intentions. He'd been out of the loop for quite a while now. His kids, grand kids, and great grand kids had recently had an adventure in another world. His son was currently fighting to survive in a city filled with zombies, built by ignorant humans. Things had been quiet for the longest time, but it seemed the action was beginning to build up again.

Zero Sum, behind the skyscraper named after him, was owned by one of his grandkids. He could seem to remember. The female who'd been working there took off for the night and looked to be headed home, followed by a male he remembered from years back. A male angel who'd removed the memories out of his grand daughter's head for her own good. While commendable at the time, what he was intending now wasn't.

So, as he followed her, Darkman followed him. A cigarette hung limply from his mouth. He was dressed in black, with a black jacket, and black sunglasses that he never seemed to take off. Darkman most of the time walked around with his camouflage ability activated, but that wasn't the case now. If the man Remiel here was after the girl for the reason he thought, then perhaps he'd also want a shot at none other than the person who was responsible for this city's conception.

Smoke trailed behind Darkman while entering this alley. ”So when you're done with her, it's my turn next, right? I mean, it'll only make sense, wouldn't you agree?” he said calmly, almost jokingly.

Ka'lara had been about halfway through the alley way when she realized that she wasn't exactly alone: the hair on the back of her neck began to stand up and a chill rose up her spine - indications that something was wrong. Whoever was here didn't have the most noble intentions. Thinking that it was one of the drunk perverts from the bar, or some other idiot agitated that she had tossed him out on his ass at some point during the night, she turned to face Remiel.

She had been about to open her mouth and say something when she realized that the male she was now facing was by no means human: no, this guy was an angel, and the vibe she was getting was that he was looking for a fight. Great, just the way she wanted to end her evening...

However, he wasn't the only one in the alley way. Behind the angel stood another man who was dressed in all black with sunglasses on despite the fact that it was early into the morning and still pitch black outside. The man spoke of how when this angel was finished with her it would only make sense for him to try with him and it only doubled her suspicions: yup, apparently this guy was looking for a fight: and apparently this man with the sunglasses was similar to Ka'lara if he spoke of this angel starting with him next. 

Ka'lara had never started any trouble since the day she had appeared, a little over five years ago from the other world. She had simply worked for the little one bedroom apartment that she had, busting her ass at Zero Sum and being one of the most loyal employee's the place knew. Yet... this asshole wanted a fight. So, she could only assume it had something to do with the fact she was part Demon which only caused her to roll her eyes in an agitated sort of way. "So you're one of those guys, eh? Judge someone for what they are and not what they do..." Ka'lara remained on her guard, watching everything that this angel was doing in case he attempted to attack her while she was moving or talking - and ready to dodge out of the way the very instant that happened.

Remiel heard someone speak behind him and glanced backwards to see Darkman. Remiel had heard stories of the guy in the many years he had been around since he was Demitrias guardian angel. Remiel had never wanted to harm the guy or bother with him since he was part of the Kane family. "I know your part of Demitria's family so I don't want to mess with you."

Remiel then looked back towards Ka'lara while listening to her speak about how he was judging her. "You are evil and should be destroyed." Remiel made his huge white wings appear that barely ruffled the suit he was wearing before running towards the girl.

He wasn't surprised that Remiel knew who he was. He'd had to have seen Darkman around somewhere in his time as Demi's guardian angel. He said he didn't want to bother with him, but still, Darkman wasn't going to just stand by and watch him kill someone because of what they were. It was downright racist.

Knowing Remiel was a full blooded angel, Darkman would have to time this correctly. In the time it took for Remiel to make his wings appear, Darkman was on the move. It took less than a second to move from his position and close in upon the angel.

A shoulderblock would be attempted from Remiel's left side, right as he began to take his first step toward the girl. If successful, Remiel would be knocked off of his feet, and possibly taken by surprise. If he was unable to right himself in mid-air, he would likely smash head-first into the wall of the building at his left.

”That's all well and good Remiel, but... I still can't stand aside and let you do... whatever it is you plan on doing to this girl simply because of what she is. We aren't racist here in Edge. You had good intentions 5 years ago but it looks to me like the years haven't been very easy on you since then. Tell you what, since you're lucky it's not one of my kids that came down here instead of me and i'm in a good mood, how's about you just... walk out of here right now? No harm, no foul. I'm really not in the mood right now to be killing anyone, those days are long behind me...”

That wouldn't make him hesitate though. If he had to put him down, then, he was going down.

When Remiel first began to speak about how she was evil and needed destroyed Ka'lara moved so that when Remiel began to take his first step she was already off to the left of where she had been. However, that seemed un-needed as Darkman went to shoulder-check Remiel into a wall - if he didn't right himself. She kept her eye on what was going on; waiting to see if the shoulder-check would work or if Remiel would continue heading towards her newest spot to do whatever it was he intended to do to her.

She listened as Darkman spoke of how they weren't racist in Edge, and how while he had good intentions in whatever he had done five years ago that the years didn't seem to have been good to him. With the way Darkman was speaking she was quickly starting to figure out who he might be; or that at least he was in charge of the city in same way. She listened as Darkman spoke of how he really wasn't in the mood to be killing anyone, but figured that he would do so if Remiel didn't walk away.

Normally she didn't bother hiding behind other people, but given how fast she knew angels could be, she wasn't exactly going to turn down the help. She really wasn't looking for a fight after an eight hour shift, but that didn't meant she wasn't about to defend herself.

Remiel felt Darkman knock him off to the side and with a flap of his wings he kept himself from slamming head first into the wall. Remiel listened to what Darkman had to say and then he frowned with a sigh. Remiel didn't want to fight with Darkman even if he felt that the girl should die because she was evil which meant he could either fight Darkman or leave since Darkman was giving him that option.

Remiel knew where Ka'lara worked and knew she probably needed the job so he guessed that she wasn't going to quit just because of this problem. Remiel made his choice with another sigh. "Fine, I'll walk away." Remiel knew he could just come back later on or on another day when Darkman wasn't around and kill her then, the girls days were numbered.

Darkman shook his head while taking a drag of his cigarette and flicking the ashes. How had things gotten so bad with that guy? He fancied himself a champion of justice in a crusade against demons? They weren't all bad. Some of them didn't even have a choice of whether or not to be one, much like himself. He'd have to leave a warning with Jr, as he was the Boss now, since it appeared that Alec came back from that land of ninjas with an entire country.

Assuming Remiel walked away like he said he would, he gave a glance back at the girl. ”Rough neighborhood, as you can see,” he said. ”...If you're as smart as I think you are, you know this isn't the end. You might wanna keep your eyes open for future attempts... If one of my kids or grand kids get a hold of him, I can guarantee that the end result won't be as friendly as this one...”

Darkman turned and began to walk the other way, flicking the butt of his cigarette while beginning to whistle a strange tune...

If Remiel kept to his word and walked away she would watch him for a moment, giving herself a chance to get some distance between them. She didn't want to risk turning the corner and running right back into the guy; not off her guard that is. She still wasn't worried about fighting him, even if she didn't want to.

When Darkman spoke she turned her gaze to him and gave a nod to his words. She knew better than to think that this was the end of that guy; he would likely be back sooner or later to try and kill her when she thought that Darkman and no one else was around. "Yeah, I'll keep my eyes opened for him... I figured he was lying anyway." Not the first time an angel had lied, not likely the last.

She watched Darkman walk away while whistling before she too turned and left... Though, she didn't head home right away. She didn't know how long Remiel had been stalking her, but if he didn't know where she lived by now she wasn't going to make it easy for him to find out.
