Zombie Adventure Ep.#2 [Open][NR]

Alec landed on the building across from the large police station, dropping to one knee as to keep out of sight. There was a light drizzle falling, and it was beginning to get dark. The hordes roaming the streets began to thin out the further they got from the Downtown area, but there was no telling how many of those smart zombies there were.

If he knew his son, he was most likely watching from the office in Darkman Tower. He also knew he was probably pissed off, and went to warn Avery, Art, Dez, and possibly everyone else and probably had them all worried too. It seemed like anything he did would have someone mad, be it being a villain in a ninja world, or trying to do the right thing in the middle of a zombie apocalypse.

Alec dug through his bag, doing an inventory of his firearms and ammo. He waited for Vigilante to show up to do a scan of the place before heading inside. It the place was clear, he even considered settling in there somewhere for the night. He didn't think it a good idea to be running around in the dark...

Big V landed not long after Alec did, as silently as possible. Just like Alec he went down on one knee, his cape flapping around behind him. He did a scan of the building, seeing several people inside. They had the same readings as those back in that skyscraper, which meant they were undead. There didn't seem to be a whole bunch on the upper floors, but the lowers, where the jail cells were, seemed to be over flowing with them.

”We got walkers in there...most of them are downstairs. Maybe they went down there as a last stand sorta thing. The top floors have a few of them strolling around, but they should be easy enough to take out quietly, right? I mean, we should be good, as long as we don't go in the basements and the booking areas...We're talking rape with no lube down there, bossman...”

It was starting to rain, and he was starting to get hungry. Granny's meatloaf was sounding pretty damn good right now...

”I thought I told you to stop calling me bossman.”

Alec stood and jumped. He pushed himself a few dozen feet airborne while moving forward, across the street. Lightning flashed, followed by a crack of thunder. The rain began coming down harder, with darker, angrier looking clouds rolling in. Down here, things would probably be the same. Things were only going to get worse.

Alec landed on the roof of the police building. He walked toward one of the guard towers, where the windows were stained with blood. Opening the door, a walker was feasting on the remains of a police officer, and had eaten so much of him this it's stomach was fat and bloated as if it were pregnant. The inside of the tower was covered in blood and guts, and smelled like a rotten meat locker. After stomping the walker's head in several times with a steel toed boot, Alec grabbed a set of keys from what was left of the guard. He stepped back out of the tower and dropped the keys in a puddle of water on the roof to wash the blood and viscera from them.

Next he started walking toward the heliport, and one of the entrances into the building. It looked like some of the cops and survivors tried to make it to the helicopter, but failed. Alec made his way over to the door down into the building and used the keys to unlock it. Stepping inside and over several more dead bodies, he went down a floor. Silently opening the door at the bottom, the smell of death and exposed internal organs immediately hit his nose, but he wasn't bothered by it.

He stretched out his left arm and caused his Folding Bow to unfold and place itself into his waiting hand due to the mechanism he'd devised in ninja land, disappointed that he couldn't use the weapon to it's full potential. It would surely make things much easier. He notched a bow and took aim at a nearby walker, then let the projectile fly. The arrow met it's mark in the head of the undead cop, and it instantly went down. Alec quietly stepped out into the hall which had a balcony, hearing the shuffles and moans of other undead below. He began to make his way down the hallway, stepping lightly.

”Touchy, bossman. Something bad happen to you while you were in that other dimension with those ninjas?”

V jumped over to the police building's roof with Alec. He did a scan of the helicopter that had dead bodies in and around it while Alec went to the guard tower, seeing that it still worked. While Alec stomped the head of a zombie in and rinsed off some keys he found, V took that time to clear the bodies from around the chopper. There was always the chance that someone who knew how to fly would possibly make their way here, and use this as a way out.

Then he followed behind Alec as he entered the building. He made sure to watch out for the dead on the stairs; the last thing they needed was for him to get clumsy and fall. At the bottom of the stairs he saw Alec take out a really cool looking bow and silently take out a zombie cop.

”Sick!” he whispered. ”Did you get that over in that other dimension?”

V reached behind him then, suddenly remembering the weapon he never really got the chance to use, his Peacemaker Staff. It was still attached to the back of his belt, and if he knew any better, he'd be putting it to much use soon.

”Yeah... Long story. I'll tell you about it when we have a chance to sit down.”

Alec snatched the arrow back from the cop's head as he passed him, shaking off the brains and blood from it. He slid it back into the quiver device underneath his right sleeve. The floor they were on contained many offices and interrogation rooms, all of which had dead and mangled bodies strewn about.

”I made it... Seems like Jr filled you in one what's been going on the last 5 years, but like I said, i'll explain everything later.”

Alec was beginning to feel winded from running, jumping around and fighting. He was beginning to consider finding a room to lie low in for the night, and start fresh in the morning. Scour the building for water, food, supplies, and possibly any survivors, then move on. Keeping his eyes peeled while moving down the blood soaked and guts filled hallways, he eventually came upon a lobby. It was clean, and no one else appeared to be around.

He stepped inside and waited for Vigilante to come in, then closed and barricaded the door. The lobby had chairs in an area that had a big screen TV for visitors; the channel it was currently on nothing but snow. There as a drink and a vending machine in the back, still plugged in and active. After doing a quick sweep of the room to make sure it was clear, Alec put the dufflebag down and rolled his shoulders. He pulled out the bag of M&M's and tossed them over toward Vigilante while walking toward the vending machine. As silently as he could, Alec pulled off the plexi-glass that separated him from the goods inside, leaning it on the wall next to the machine, and helping himself to the chips and submarine sandwiches inside. He also tossed one of the sandwiches to V next.

He began to put his stealth tactics into play, remembering the program he devised 5 years ago for just such an occasion. He'd be having to use this a lot more in the future, he knew this. V was honestly trying to be sarcastic when he asked if something bad happened over in that other world, but didn't know how to respond when Alec said yes, something bad happened. He'd wait for him to explain about it, and also about the sick looking bow.

The police station looked bad. Many people died in here. V imagined chaos and pandemonium in this place when the shit began to hit the fan. He shook his head back and fourth while following Alec to the lobby. While Alec barricaded the door, V took the opportunity to take a break from wearing his suit, taking it off and causing it to meld away like water, returning to the device on his belt. Alter Ego Matt was now 20 years old and a little taller than he was the last time Alec had seen him. His black hair was longer and he had the stubble of mustache and goatee on his still young looking face. He wasn't wearing that Pikachu hoodie anymore, instead the one he had on now was simply black. He had on black jogging pants and generic sneakers.

Matt caught the M&M's and the sandwich tossed his way. He walked over to the pop machine. “So, bossman. Ninjas and criminal empires in other dimensions, huh? I gotta hear this,” was what he said while shoving a device of his own making into the coin slot, causing several brands of soda to come spilling from the machine. He caught some that spilled out to prevent making too much noise and attract the attention of nearby zombies, handing a couple of them to Alec, cherry and orange flavored.

Alec took the pop and sat on the floor, leaning back on one of the walls next to his dufflebag. He was about to start telling V, who'd shed his costume for now and revealed a slightly older Matt Black who was no longer wearing Pokemon hoodies, when he heard Jr's voice coming from his bag. He unzipped the bag while holding up one finger to Matt. Pulling out the headset that was equipped with a camera Alec put it on. A small holo-screen appeared showing the inside of the office in Darkman Tower. The first thing he saw was Avery looking worried, and Jr looking like he had a migraine.

”Now before you start bitching, I know what i'm doing.”

”What are you thinking!? Did you really think I wanted the first job as Boss of this city to be to sit here and watch you get eaten alive??”

”Eeeeehh. I'd have thought you'd have gotten over that whining shit by now. Again son, I know what i'm doing.”

”Have you even considered your family? Avery? Your 2 year old daughter that barely even knows you? Me? Dez? Amaranth? Aella is here too if you didn't know, I had to go grab her before she got ran over by a truck!”

”Aella, huh? Good... look after her.”

”Yeah... but, Dad--”

”Look son. I've been around a really long time. If I buy it, I want it to be over something good. I don't exactly know how I ended up over here, but I think it was for a reason, to do something. These moron scientists didn't listen to me or your grandfather, and they got millions of people turned into monsters and killed. I'm here, so I feel like I have to do something. Get some answers. Save the survivors... You all will be fine without me. Look how far you've come. Kage of Makkura, now Boss of Edge City. Your sister and niece are genius scientists, and I have grand kids and great grandkids who can kick my ass a thousand times if they wanted. Just imagine the things your little sister is gonna be able to do... Take that diaper off and quit being a baby, a whole city and everyone – your little sister especially - is looking up to you now.”

Hi No Seishin's aura appeared around Jr in his rage.

”I never asked for any of this, Dad! It's just like it was in Makkura, everybody knows YOU are the real Boss! I'm just a puppet! I didn't wanna be here, I just wanted to go back to longing on beaches and eating chips! Staring at girls! I'm not cut out for this leader shit!”

”Maybe that was the case in Makkura, but not in Edge. YOU'RE the Boss now. You call the shots. You can't be this lazy kid laying around enjoying the good life anymore, it's time to man up and take responsibility... Anyways, why are you talking like you're never gonna see me again? Don't you have any faith left in your old man, especially after fighting The Kingdom for over 10 years? This over here, it's a walk in the park, even without my Angelic powers... I know this shit over here is none of my business. But i'm here, knee deep in the shit. What would I look like bailing out now?... I won't be able to do this correctly if I know all of you are over there worried about me. You're gonna throw me off; i'll make a mistake. Relax, i'll be fine. You sent my guns – thank you for that by the way – and Big V is with me, he's my side-kick. We're gonna find any survivors and head to the Bridge. It might take a few days, but after that we'll be back home, alright?'

Jr grumbled before taking a deep breath and sighing. ”...Fine. But i'm gonna be watching you through the satellites and the surveillance cameras every step of the way. Dez made a cure to that virus, and i'll be sending it to you asap. Do what you have to do in that stupid city with those stupid scientists and get back here, alright? I don't wanna have to raise my baby sister in your place.”

”Shaddap with the mellow dramatic stuffs and quit worrying. Smoke some of that weed in the desk and calm down. Give Avery and Art my love and tell them i'll be fine. Dad out...”

Alec took the headset off and put it back into the dufflebag. He opened one of the submarine sandwiches and took a big bite of it. Shaking his head at how worried everyone looked, he decided that he'd best get all of this over with as fast as possible...

"How many times do I have to tell you to stop calling me bossman?"

He watched the whole back and fourth between Alec and Alec Junior. Matt didn't know how it felt to have a father, and he could just guess what it was like to have a son. He didn't even know when something like that would even happen. Matt thought maybe with the looks Cala used to give him back in the day, but now she was gone. He started to look sort of depressed before shaking that off because that was 5 years ago and came as no surprise really that it all came to an end.

Alec had a whole lot of people who cared about him and was still baffled as to how this guy had grandkids and great grandkids when he still looked like a kid himself. He couldn't wait to get back to Edge so he could see everyone, and especially go check out that dark Makkura place and possible meed more real ninjas.

”Booooo. I see why your people get so mad with you, you're so stubbon,” Matt said, juggling a mouth full of chocolatey good M&M's. “That's all i've ever known you as is the bossman, if you don't want me to call you that what do I call ya? And when are you gonna tell me the friggin deal with these ninjas in the other dimension?”

”My name, Alec. Makes the most sense, yes?'

Alec ate half of the submarine and drank one of the pops before beginning his tale in a ninja world. He appeared in a village called Hana. He became a master Weapons Technician, allowing him to create a magical arsenal. He attempted to live a normal ninja life but got bored, and decided to bomb the Administration Complex. Several attempted to apprehend him, but they were killed. He left and became a Missing-Nin, Murderer and Terrorist. He traveled to Kori, and crafted the Kane Katana lying next to him at that moment.

The next stop was Yokuchi, where he ran into Dez as a member of a blind clan called Holeman. He got into it with thugs in a bar, whom all he killed. The Boss of the village Strafe came into the bar soon after, telling him that he had to leave. He was plenty drunk at that point, and told Strafe he'd leave once he was done with the bottle. Strafe insisted that he leave immediately, and after distracting him with a combination of what was left with the bottle, an Explosive Tag and a shot from a wrist concealed shotgun, Alec cut Strafe's leg off.

One of his beginner ninja, or Genin, was outside in a trap from Dez for trying to jump in. The kid was a member of the Uchiha Clan. When they have a near death experience or get really stressed out, some of them were known to activate strange powers in their eyes through the use of an “Dojutsu” or ocular technique called “Sharingan.” He pointed to his silver eyes as he caused them to turn into the crimson color with three dots surrounding the pupils called Tomoe. He knew he'd be unable to make use of the supernatural ocular techniques such as hypnotizing them or warping through time and space; at the very least were he to use them here, he'd be able take advantage of the ability to predict an opponent's movements while in a fight.

Sharingan:

He explained that these eyes could be salvaged or stolen from a Uchiha to be surgically implanted into your own eye sockets to take advantage of the strange powers of their clan. While over in the other world, he'd have to keep them covered when not in use, for, while over there a donor cannot de-activate them at will, and they constantly drain away at your energy. A donor would also have to spend extra energy to keep them active and to use their abilities, more than a pure blooded Uchiha would. He didn't have that problem here, not even in Pacific City.

He took this time to finish off his sandwich before resuming the ninja tale this kid constantly bugged him to tell...

Call him Alec...It would be weird, but he'd have to get used to it. Matt pulled some chairs together and made a sort-of bed. He got comfy and began listening to the story Alec began to tell; his ninja tale of another dimension. As Alec talked, Matt could almost see the scene playing out inside of his head: A ninja Alec cutting people up with a sweet glowing sword and stealing eyeballs.

Matt gave a strange glance to those Sharingan things when Alec turned his eyes blood red. A ninja warlord criminal Alec doing terrorist attacks on villages and killing people who tried to get in his way...It was hard to believe since now he was trying to save victims of this apocalypse. Matt didn't know whether to believe him or not, but either way it was a good story so far...

...So good that he'd dozed off when Alec paused to eat the rest of his sandwich.

Alec started to talk again, but then he noticed that Matt fell asleep. How rude, he thought with a frown, so he balled up the plastic wrap of the submarine sandwich and got comfortable on the floor, leaning on the wall next to his dufflebag, and was soon sleep himself...

...Sometime later, after a few hours, he was awoken to the sound of something trying to get into the lobby. He quickly shook himself out of the sleepy state he was in and snatched up the Kane Katana, looking toward the door, snapping his fingers toward Matt. He got to his feet and noticed that it was still dark and raining somewhat outside through ceiling windows.

Alec threw the submarine sandwich wrap ball toward Matt's head and put on the Dufflebag, listening carefully to the sounds of multiple people out in the hall, pushing against the makeshift barricade, attempting to gain entry. It was no longer safe to chill in here; it was best to search the building, grab up whatever they could, and keep moving. They'd rested long enough...

Matt didn't hear any finger snaps from being so into the dream of flying though clouds of whipped cream in his underwear but was pulled out of this due to the plastic ball that hit his head. “Hey what the--” is what he got out as he was startled from his slumber, and seeing Alec standing there with his bag on and his sword in his hands, the realization slammed into him that he was in a police station in a city full of zombies.

The millions of Nanoids spilled out of the device like a black plague, spreading around his body and covering it to form The Vilgilante suit while standing up. Going into stealth mode, V rolled his shoulders and shook off the sleepy, preparing himself for more of this nightmare.

”Part 2 of Alec the Ninja the next time we get to sit down somewhere?”

”...Yeah, sure, whatever. Naptime's over, no longer legit to stay here. Time to sweep the building for anyone else alive and supplies, then we bail. Neighborhoods and houses up next. Always the chance someone stayed home and decided to make a stand.”

A few of the pops from the vending machine were inside the dufflebag. Alec pulled on his hood and re-attached the Kane Katana to his belt, then moved the barricade from in front of the door. 3 walker cops were outside of the door and had somehow figured out that the living were close by. One of them was on the floor unmoving after the Katana was out and slicing through the neck area, decapitating it. The head smacked the floor, leaving behind big splotches of blood and fluid, still growling and biting even though it no longer had a body.

Alec continued moving his body after the swing of the Katana, twirling in a circle and sending a roundhouse kick into the jaw of the second walker; the momentum of the kick sending it flying into the 3rd walker and causing them flying backwards down the hall. With this opening Alec quickly darted out of the room and down the dark hall. He jumped over the balcony, down into the front reception area, kicking another one in the forehead and knocking it backwards into several others.

Behind the reception area there were offices and desks for detectives. There would be break rooms and bathrooms back there that would make good hiding spots and possibly also contain first aid kits and refrigerators with water and food in them. There didn't look to be too many walkers back there in that direction either, and swiftly began moving that way.

"V... Keep that scanner of yours peeled, let me know if you see any life forms..."

While she had been speeding towards Pacific City Amaranth had gained a great deal of height; the overall plan being to get up as high as possible so that she could glide as far as she could without having to restart her glide. She didn't want to land sooner than she had to, so it seemed like the best plan of action. So, when she had finally hit the suppression field she was pretty high up; as she felt her powers suddenly lock down and her ability to fly disappear she began to use her red hooded cape to keep herself air-born.

As she glided across the city the infrared sunglasses came in handy. She could see thousands of human shaped blue colored bodies moving around down below and knew them to be zombies since they were the same temperature as their surroundings. From time to time small groups of red outlined bodies became visible: groups of survivors. She didn't slow or attempt to investigate these groups however since she knew her grandfather and the Vigilante to last be located inside of the police station, so she pressed onward and continued to glide in that direction. She also picked up on a few black spots that looked to be swaying in the direction of the wind: hot fire that likely had been raging for hours, if not days.

As she moved towards the center of the city she began to go lower slower but gradually; glad that both her weapons and her pack of supplies (medical supplies, food, water, the cure, and a few odds and ends) were all strapped to her so she didn't have to worry about holding them and instead only had to worry about controlling her glide. Despite the chilled air she was still warm: her red tank top with the thick black buttoned up over top, AG boots, black nearly knee length skirt with thick black leggings underneath more than enough to keep her warm.

In the distance she could see the police station and more important two red outlined bodies beginning to move and what looked like fight. She shifted her cape so that it acted more like a parachute now than a glider, causing her to slow and descend easily enough. She landed seconds later on the roof and as soon as she let go of her cape which began to billow in the wind she unhooked her gunscythe and after pressing the release button allowed it to unfold into the giant weapon it was with several clicking sounds.

With her weapon in hand she entered into the building, using the infrared sunglasses to lead her in the direction of the two bodies that she assumed to be her grandfather and the Vigilante: all while keeping a look out for any blue colored ones that would be the zombies the city was infested with.

”Roger that, Bossma--- Alec. Right behind you, lead the way.”

After the first freak got de-capped, V stomped the still alive head. After the crunch, there was a nasty leaking mess left behind. Alec kicked the other two out of the way and ran out. V took off after him, his Enhanced Condition and Exoskeleton making it possible to keep up with Alec's quick speed.

He stayed with Alec and jumped over the balcony right after him. He asked that he scan the place, to look and see if anyone was alive. The scanner began to look through all of the doors, offices, rooms and hallways of the building. The gate in the downstairs area came open by some means, probably from so many of the freaks leaning on it, allowing the crowd down there access to the building. A bunch were currently on their way up.

However something outside caught his attention just then. ”I'm not picking up on anyone still alive in here but someone/something just landed on the roof. Looks to me like they...glided in here some kind of way, and they're coming down inside. I thought maybe it could be another one of those smart freaks, but from the trajectory whoever that is traveled, my data tells me they came here directly from Edge City.”

With the strange ninja ocular technique active, Alec could see everything clearly, even moving at a high rate of speed. Though he was back home now, Alec still acted very ninja-like, running quickly while hunched low, holding onto the Katana sheath with his left hand while keeping the right near the handle. Even with his extremely heavy dufflebag Alec was able to move with the speed and quietness to where ordinary eyes would barely be able to keep up with him, and ordinary ears would hear nothing.

Vigilante said someone was gliding in here, and their flight path told that they'd come from Edge City. Gliding... that had to be either Ghost, or Amaranth, delivering the cure in person. Alec didn't really want any more of his people becoming involved in this, but whoever it was would eventually catch up and reveal themselves.

Crimson colored pupils dart back and fourth as he ran. He moved from office to office, room to room. Alec had to behead 3 walkers. He found several bottles of water, two first aid kits, and a crapload of aspirin, along with another ziplock bag stuffed full of pill bottles that had various over-the-counter drugs in them.

As the horde began to emerge from below, Alec sprinted toward the first of them, leaping, spinning, and planting a kick into the chest of the first of them, which sent all of them spilling back down into the stairway. Alec pulled a Kunai and Explosive Tag from his One-Strap Bag, tying the tag to the knife and tossing it down into the stairwell before running off in the opposite direction. There was a loud boom and a violent vibration of the floor. Alec knew the sound would attract others, thus the reason he began running in his ninja-like fashion in the other direction. The distraction would possibly be enough to allow them an unhindered exit...

Kunai:

Explosive Tag:

Amaranth moved carefully into the building, her gun-scythe always at the ready. She knew she was stepping into a very dangerous situation and she wasn't going to take any chances. Carefully and slowly she worked her way through the building while using the infrared sunglasses to lead her along her way: she could see the two red oulined forms moving in another part of the building so that was the direction she headed in.

She was sneaking as she moved, keeping her movements as quiet as possible, so far not drawing the attention of any zombies; that was at least until an explosion went off that roused any zombie that might not have been paying attention. She took notice of her the pair moving in a particular direction; and she took off. There was no longer a point in being silent after that explosion, so she didn't let being quiet hinder her speed. When she turned the corner, about to meet up with the Vigilante and her grandad, she suddenly found herself face to face with a pair of zombies.

A quick arcing swing of her scythe and a blood splattered wall later and the zombies dropped in front of her; their brains sliced horizontally in half. She moved past the zombies, stepping on one of them in the process, and moved to her grandfather and the Vigilante's side. "Suppose we should get out of here before you start yelling at me for risking my neck in coming here..." She wasn't exactly expecting her grandfather to be more than pleased that she had shown up - or anyone for that matter. Though, no matter how much yelling he did, she wasn't going to leave, not when she could be of help.

Gunscythe:

Those red eyes must have been something serious for Alec to be moving around so fast and still be able to see everything. Besides the freaks that got their heads cut off, V had to kick a few in their faces. He heel dropped one of them in the forehead, smashing it's brains down into it's neck and killing it. V several times tried to rifle through a drawer or two, but Alec was just too fast. He was doing a way better job of grabbing supplies and staying on the move. Even with all of these computers, Big V just couldn't keep up.

Then he pulled what looked like a knife and a piece of paper from his bag, tied the paper to the knife, kicked the first of the freaks from down stairs back down the stairs, threw the knife with the paper attached to it, and then there was a boom. ”How the---what...?”

V was trying to figure out just how that happened when a little girl appeared. His grand daughter, Amaranth, Boss of that tropical island. ”The boss girl! Welcome to the freak show. Please keep your arms and legs inside of the vehicle at all times...”

Alec approached another crowd of walkers. At the same time another attack came from a very familiar looking weapon, tearing the heads and brains from them, Alec came from below with a swing of the Kane Katana from the floor, relieving of them of their legs and effectively double teaming the undead. Alec quickly sheathed the sword again and side stepped the incoming brown fluids and internal organs.

”You came to give me the cure and then go back home, right? Because you are NOT staying here.”

The double doors in the back lead into the maintenance areas and the back garages where they used to bring in arrestees. It was the closest route towards the suburbs. Maybe there was a chance there was more supplies left behind. Alec ninja-like sprinted down the hall where there were dead cops and civilians, keeping his body low while zig-zagging around the things and corpses that crowded the hallway.

”I'm not trying to hear you protesting and whining at me like your uncle either, we both know how your mother gets when it comes to you, and family in general. When we're outside get your ass back home. GO. HOME.”

Amaranth grinned at Vigilante and then followed after her grandfather, rolling her eyes when he mentioned her mother and how over-protective she acted. She figured of all people her mother should have been worried the least; she had been killing people since the age of four, right? So why was it any different for Amaranth to slaughter a bunch of zombies? "No, grandad. I came here to deliver the cure and help. Before you start yelling at me about that think about it: out of almost everyone I'm the one that relies the least on my powers and the most on my weapon. I know how to fight without powers; this place doesn't stunt me. Besides, Devon gave me some excellent anti-gravity boots, and some nifty sunglasses."

Amaranth moved around the corpses as well, careful not to get too close in case one of them still had a little bit of life in them. "Besides, it was me or Cala, and seeing as Cala's spent the past five years trapped in the in-between space between dimensions, screaming bloody murder until Uncle Junior heard her and rescued her, she's not exactly fit right now to come here and help. Uncle Junior wants her to stay in the tower with her sister... I heard it all from Devon's head when I was in the office with her."

As Amaranth continued to follow after her grandfather she noticed a blue, human shaped mass, come heading from one of the doorways. She reached to her hip as she neared it, pulling from it her cross knife. The button was pressed and the blade unsheathed by the time she reached the doorway. As the zombie walked out her knife glinted under the light, the only warning to the helpless creature as she sent the blade of the knife into the zombies eyeball and into its brain. She pulled the knife out seconds later and continued after her grandfather.

”Yeah...I thought those boots kinda sorta looked a little like something I designed. Interesting!”

Obviously Alec didn't want the girl here in harm's way. While V understood where he was coming from, Amaranth was also making a point. She resembled some kind of reaper with that cloak and sythe. She was well equipped to take care of herself.

However...she said Cala was trapped in some kind of dimensional pocket for 5 years, and Alec Jr rescued her. Then...maybe she hadn't broken up with him like he thought she did. That meant she must have tried to go looking for Alec and the bunch when they went over to that ninja place. But why did she leave without telling him?

Questions, questions...V wasn't going to comment on that. He'd get the whole story when he escaped this nightmare...

”WHAT DID I JUST TELL YOU TO--”

Red eyes caught sight of the walker clad in blue. After while Amaranth dealt with it, Alec tied another tag to a Kunai, flinging it down the hall where it came from, currently full of walkers. There was a boom, a vibration and smoke.

Amaranth and Vigilante both were keeping up with him just fine; neither were slowing him down. As much as he hated to admit it, someone else along who could fight would make things easier and reduce the chance of someone getting hurt.

Down several more halls and a garage. It was filled with vans and squad cars. Alec raced through the garage to the door, pushing it upwards and quickly taking a look around outside. The coast was clear so he held the door open for Amaranth and V, waving them through as more walkers spilled out of the hall where they'd come from. Alec slipped out last and pulled the door down behind him.

The once plush neighborhoods were up next, walking across the parking lot towards a fence. There would probably be many supplies ripe for the taking in the houses that still stood. Alec gave Amaranth a bottle of water, several bags of chips and one of the vending machine submarine sandwiches.

”The first time shit begins to look hairy, the two of you are bailing out of here. No question. Vigilante if you have to drag her, I want you to drag her. You guys are too important.”

Alec went low before leaping high into the air, heavy dufflebag and all, and clearing the fence to land in what used to be someone's backyard. The next episode of this zombie drama was about to unfold in the suburbs...

"They've come in handy, that's for sure.", she said to Vigilante about his comment about the boots.

Amaranth didn't look back as she watched her grandfather hurl another kunai down the hallway that the zombie she had stabbed through the eye had came from; she knew it was going to explode and make zombie mashed potato's out of those down in it. She continued to follow after her grandfather as he lead the way down several more hallways and into a garage that was filled with vans and cars. Once they reached the door and her grandfather held it open she stepped through and out of the way so that everyone else could get through; all while keeping her hands on her scythe and her eyes opened for any zombies that might be lurking around.

She took the supplies that her grandfather handed her and shoved them into her bag; all save for the bottle of water which she opened and took a big few sips out of - even though she lived on an island that averaged 80 degrees on a normal day, something that hardly made her thirsty, she was parched now. She closed the cap back on the bottle and shoved it into her bag with a nod to her grandfather. "You sound like Uncle Junior. He told me to bail out the very second things get too hard for me to handle; even put a feather inside of me as an insurance policy.", she said after jumping after her grandfather and into the back yard; her anti gravity boots making it more than easy to do so - which saved her from having to exert herself more than she would be.
