Hunger.
It didn't happen often, but when it did it was a problem she liked to get taken care of fairly quickly - simply because she knew what would happen if she didn't; her Beastie would come awake, and if people thought she was ruthless then they didn't know the true definition of the word. Her beast was out of control for almost everyone, and it was no simple game to have to dodge the damn thing till it was sated enough to allow Demitria control again.
So, as she walked down the newest alley she had entered, shadows wrapped around her form and keeping her from human eyesight, she kept an eye out for any possible dinner. She'd only been at this for about twenty or so minutes, and could have been faster but she was feeling a bit generous tonight... to the point to where she wanted to stop some sort of crime, or possibly help someone, while helping herself.
"Where's the guy's fucking money?", was the sentence that reached her ears first. An eyebrow raised in curiosity as she stepped around the corner, still well hidden in the darkness from view of the three humans who had surrounded a forth; the forth being the one currently curled in a ball and lying on the ground and who definitely looked worse for wear due to his quickly bruising face, the cut on his lip, and his bleeding nose. He had definitely been having the shit beaten out of him.
"I said where's the fucking money!?!", demanded the loudest as he stood, towering over everyone else. He was bigger than the rest, clearly the muscle of the group. He would do nicely for an appetizer.. then she would have her main course... followed by dessert.
A plan quickly formulated in her mind and a grin spread across her face. She stepped forth from the shadows, allowing herself to be revealed. "Hello boys..."
All heads turned in her direction, as she'd been hoping for. The biggest, who had been doing the demanding, took several steps away from the man on the ground before starting to walk towards her. Her grin turned into a sly and playful smile as she backed up around the corner, finger raised and moving in a beckoning manner.
"You guys stay here, and get that guy to talk... I'll be back."
Demi kept backing up until she was sure there was no way the other two would see what was going on... and then she pounced. With a swiftness that the thug didn't see she jumped into the air, turned, and was instantly upon his back, fangs elongated. It was a matter of a tenth of second and she had pierced his throat. She knew his screams, which were loud and echoing off of the walls, would alert the others. So, after a few good quick pulls she snapped the man's neck. As his body hit the ground she rolled and landed gracefully.
"Did you hear that?!"
"Dude, what the fuck was that?"
"Billy? Yo man, you alright?"
"Yeah man.. she didn't bite your dick or some shit did she?"
"Billy? Come on man.."
She could hear a single set of footsteps, and made quick work of the body as she lifted the now dead guy up and took him into the shadows with her as if he weighed nothing at all, where she silently laid him down to keep him hidden. From there she watched the second biggest of the three approach, looking around as he searched in the darkness for his friend, darkness his weak human eyes could barely penetrate.
"Billy? Come on man, no playing games. This shit isn't funny."
The male took several steps closer, within three feet from Demitria, though he couldn't have seen her even if he had been trying his hardest. "Billy?" The guy turned and Demi struck, latching onto him with the same speed and quickness as before, fangs piercing his throat just as she had done with the last. This time she clamped her hand over the guy's mouth, making his screams and pleas for help muffled at best. She drank until she was finished, the man dropping to the ground with a dull thud, far too weak from the loss of blood to get up or cry out any longer. She didn't bother closing his wounds either, she had no problem with yet another bit of filth dying in the alleyway.
So, her attention shifted to the third male, whose increased heartbeat was enough alone to tell her he was scared, even before his scent reached her nose. He looked as if he wanted to piss himself in fear, and as Demi molded into the shadows again, she kept this newest victim of hers lying in the alley. She wanted him to be scared, he should be scared. They should have all been...
"OH MY GOD!", he shouted, jumping backwards and tripping as he saw his dying friend upon the ground. He threw his hands out to brace himself from the impact, palms being easily sliced open against the rough alley road.
A grin, completely evil in its form, spread across Demitria's face as she stepped out of the shadows once more. "God has nothing to do with this...."
With those words spoken she attacked, doing him the same as she had the others, and feeling quite full by the end of it. She let this newest victims body drop to the ground before she ran her hand over her mouth, checking for any remaining blood. Figuring it was time to let their victim know he was safe, she stepped around the corner, still able to see the young man lying on the ground backing away from her in terror.
Demi smiled, her entire face changing into something more pleasant and far less threatening. "Don't worry, they won't be bothering you any more, I took care of them. So, if I were you I'd go on, before someone else comes wandering down here that wants to cause you trouble..."
The man nodded, reached into his pocket and laid a few hundred credits down on a nearby barrel, before scrambling to his feet and taking off...
Demi watched for a moment before walking forward and picking up the money... huh, dinner and a nice tip, how lovely. She pocketed the credits and then turned the corner again, staring at the three bodies left there. She didn't want to leave them and risk getting an ear full from the Boss... so she reached a hand forward, gathering fire within it, and sent it shooting at the men, burning their bodies quickly to nothing but ash..
With the clean up taken care of she turned, walking out of the alley as she whistled Amazing Grace...
