Finding my Past [Maxi, or invite][NR]

Demi was wandering. No real plan as to where she was going, she was just going to go. She hoped that perhaps a random stroll would help her remember. Maybe she would see or hear something that caused that spark of recognition, one of those nasty headaches, and in the end... more memories that she was missing.

Her movements were almost slow and sluggish as she walked: she had been solid, completely unlike her ghostly self for over two solid hours. More human than anything else. Should she have been afraid to venture out by herself? Given she was back to the 15 year old mindset her body had been reverted back to? Possibly.. but she wasn't. She was more curious than anything else: driven by the underlying need to find out who she had been before she had died.

She moved around the other people who every so often walked down the street, keeping her distance...

Aura of madness was reined in, his form solid for the moment. Slow steps took him down the street behind Demitria. He hadn't quite released the transformation from earlier; the wings were still folded around his body, and teeth still filled his mouth. Every so often, this violet eyes would flicker to gold for a moment...

He was silent as he moved, thoughts racing through his head as he tried to think of a way to give his daughter back her memories. People stared at him as he passed, but he paid them no mind. Surely, they had seen stranger...

After another moment of walking she paused, her gaze turning to the left, down a particularly dark alleyway. She didn't know why her gaze was focused here.. perhaps she had come this way in the past. Perhaps something... And there went that damn headache again. Cruel and painful as it always had been, but made so much worse by the fact that she was all in all, momentarily stuck human.

She turned to the left, stepping into the alleyway, into the darkness, away from the constantly moving crowd on the sidewalk and street. She rested her back against the cool concrete wall and closed her eyes. For a moment she imagined beating her head off of the wall in an attempt to get the headache to go away.. to knock herself unconscious and slip away from the pain of all of it.

But no... no that was too easy. It was too easy to stop, to give up on her personal quest to get her memories back. So, she reopened her eyes and waited for the pain to subside as more memories flooded her mind... She had been down this alleyway at one point, with someone who she couldn't quite see... who her mind was still hiding from her.

"Ugh..."

The male paused, head tilting for a moment. Was something troubling her, more so than her current problems? Bare feet pressed to the pavement, carrying him into the alley as well.As he came up bhind her, wings began to unfold, allowing him to slip a hand through to attempt to touch her shoulder for comfort.

"Talk to me. Tell me whats wrong, Demitria. Perhaps, I can help you."

When she felt him touch her shoulder she sighed, letting the comforting feeling sink in. "I just... feel like I'd get better results beating my head off of a wall at this point then just wandering aimlessly in hopes that something triggers everything I can't remember... an this headache isn't helping any."

"It's like... a puzzle with half the pieces missing. I can remember somethings but can't remember others. Like... I can sort've remember how strong I used to be, how fast... while other things are missing. Which makes being stuck like this, waiting to become a friggin' ghost again... absolutely frustrating. For instance, I remember throwing a car at someone down this alleyway... can't remember who. While in the back of my mind I want to say it was Destiny.. but why would I throw a car at my best friend?"

"You.. you and Destiny used to play fight alot. I.." The male smirked, withdrawing his hand. "You threw everything at each other. People, animals, cars, buildings. If it were in your respective powers, I'm sure you two would have thrown planets at each other."

The male leaned against the wall next the Demi, releasing a sigh. This was going to be hard, harder than he thought originally. He'd thought he'd be enough to jog her memories with his mere presence; inflated ego and such. But so far, progress was very slow. "Perhaps... we should attempt somethingg else?"

Demi looked up towards the sky, listening to her father explain to her how she and Destiny used to fight. It was slightly.. odd, almost. The more he explained the more she could envision it: until it was yet another memory gained back. "Like what? Niala had an idea... but Destiny didn't think it was quite a good idea..."

"Niala can imagine things... and anything her mind creates she can do. She said she could imagine me back to the way I was, even stronger.. and give me back all of my memories. But... Destiny said that wasn't a good idea, even though she didn't explain why."

The male's eyes flickered violet for a moment as he unfolded the wings from around his body. The male stepped closer, head tilting. "Tell me, what is this idea that 'Niala' had?"

He himself had none, save for engaging his daughter in a fight to force her to harness memories to survive. But perhaps, this would be less painful for her.

"Niala has this ability to where everything and anything she can imagine, happens. So, she figured she could imagine me back to the way I was before I died, including all of my memories and everything else. In fact, she said it was likely to make me stronger because I'd probably gain a few of her abilities just from the contact... But, Niala's ability works on a very psychic level, which I suppose is why Dez thinks it might be a bad idea."

Demi shrugged, and then went back to staring up at the sky. She wanted something to work.. anything really. She hated not knowing, of feeling so lost and confused in her own mind. Of feeling like she was hurting people because she couldn't remember them, or remember all of them. "I kinda wanted to try it though..."

"Hm... I suppose we can try this technique. So long as you come out safe." The male stepped closer again, tugging the female into a tight hug, wrapping his wings around her body.

"I just want my daughter back, whole, safe and sound."

"Well, then... let's get started, shall we?"

Words were spoken before her form appeared, jumping through time and space as she normally did, the pendant that hung around her neck keeping her safe from a death that would have surely claimed her had she tried it otherwise without it. She blinked at the hugging, but put the thought out of her mind: she didn't get hugs, because well.. her mother was dead, her father was a douche-bag. Anyway, moving on...

"I'm Niala, by the way.", she said as a way of introducing herself to Maxi: she knew Demitria already knew. "Let's not waste time.. I touched something of yours and saw more bad things coming, rather not have you running around human anymore...", she grumbled.

"Try and stay still... rather not risk screwing something up." With that said she locked eyes with the female, stepping psychically into Demitria's mind, all while her Imagination Manifestation began to work. She knew what Demi had been, all of it. She had seen it all that fateful day in Alec Kane's office when she had predicted Demitria's painful and untimely death. So.. she knew where to begin.

She began to mentally chip away at that wall that otherwise kept Demi blocked, knowing full well she was likely going to cause herself to mentally drown at some point. But she didn't care, Demi had been her friend, and as such she wasn't going to watch her sit back and die for the second time because she was stuck as she was.

When the mental wall was broken, something that took mere seconds, the flood of memories would spread across Demi's mind.. and despite the massive headache it instantly caused Niala, she didn't withdraw. She wasn't finished yet. Now she began to work on Demi's body: changing her back to the Malkavian she had been, almost like reversing time. Only.. with perks, boosts. She handed over several of her own powers: such as the Imagination Manifestation, Time Jumping, and Omnikinesis.

All in all the whole process took less than a minute... and Demi, other than still looking as she had been at 15... was back to her completely usual Malkavian self. Niala broke the connection and stumbled back, hand flying out and grasping the alleyway's wall as her eyes shut, taking a moment to get over the mental drowning that had happened during the whole process.

She hugged him back, mumbling "I hate being human.." as she did so. Then she was distracted by Niala's familiar voice, and turned just in time to lock gazes with the female... and then it was uphill from there.

A shudder ran through her body as her mind was unlocked, every last memory she had ever had coming flooding back, who everyone was, everything that had happened to her, every last damned detail was returned. Every thought, action, and otherwise that she had preformed. Then, her body was returned to /normal/, that familiar feeling returning... and then the gift of power, extra power, given by Niala for what purpose? Oh yes, she knew... it was Niala's way of helping, of making sure Demi never had to die again.

The only thing that hadn't changed was her appearance, but she could alter that herself now, at her own free will. Fully back to the way she was she stared at Niala, wanting to help her... and hoping she'd be okay, she could only imagine how invasive that had to have been when everything Demi could think had become what Niala was thinking too.

"I... " She blinked, and lifted her hand, as if distracted by it. She moved her fingers, it took almost nothing... and her movements were fast, lightning fast. But there was something else... as she stared, her hand became transparent and then back again... not only was she back to the way she had been with a few upgrades... but she also had access to all of the spirit physiology... Demi had just got one HELL of an upgrade.

Joy ran through him, the company pendant around his neck allowed him to access the Cobweb, allowing him to feel the tremendous weight of Demitria's mind as she was reconnected.

"You have my thanks, Niala. Bravo."

Arms released his daughter, a smile plastered to his face. He was hapy, obviously, and it would show throughout the world now. "How can I repay you, Niala?"

Niala held a finger up, waiting for her mental process to kick start and allow actual speech. Demi's head had been a cluster fuck towards the end, and it was no wonder Destiny had warned her against it... but Niala didn't like to listen to reason often, not when The Sight kicked in and told her Demi would die otherwise.

After another moment she straightened up and released her hold on the wall with a sigh. "Mmkay... now I don't feel like I just got hit with a truck load..." Niala glanced between the two and shrugged. "Just.. promise me you'll do everything possible to ensure she won't die again... I don't think my brain can handle that twice...Not without me slipping into a coma afterwards... "

A giggle slipped out of Demi as she continued to stare at her hand: which went from solid to intangible and back again. At Niala's words however she looked up and blinked. "Where's my Nanalie? I want her... and Flynn, where's Flynn? And... Cala's at Darkman Tower... apparently she likes me enough to care I died, I remember why I liked her so much...."

And then she came across Niala's memories from The Sight... and the fact she had seen Demi die again. "You saw me die again...So... someone out there still wants me dead... Joyfuckingsex."

"That goes without saying." A slight nod followed this statement, followed by the unfolding of the wings to stretch them out. He wasnt up for the feelings that came with the news of Demitria's death again. "For the time being, Demi's going to be watched carefully.
