A Visit Home [Haikyo or Invite][NR]

Home... it hadn't changed much. There was still that city smell of smog, pollution and shit, crap loads of traffic, big crowds of people on the sidewalks downtown that made it difficult to walk, or even stand. Fortunately Jr had opened his "door" near the wall that surrounded Darkman Tower, avoiding the human traffic. Jr waited until Haikyo was out before closing his door again. He didn't feel like going through the process of getting the guard to open the gate to let him in, only to go through another process with another guard to open another door. He didn't really have to either, so he'd pull Haikyo close to him by her hips.

"Don't take this the wrong way," he said, still not wanting to come off as a weirdo. "But if we walk, this is gonna take a lot longer than it has to be. Hold on..." Jr spread his wings and took Haikyo up into the air with him. He began to ascend 1,000 stories into the sky, his mind going back to that time all those years ago. His face was blank; bored as usual, but on the inside he was dreading this. Just looking at this building was depressing.

It didn't take a long time for him to reach the very top of the building. He landed on the heliport, long unused since most everyone who came here could fly, or had their own means of travel. As he released Haikyo he could remember many battles against his sister and mother that took place here. Nearby was the 3 story penthouse where he and his family lived, but Jr could feel no one in there, which left him to the conclusion that his father had to be 1 floor below them, in his office. After silently reminiscing for several moments, Jr walked off of the heliport, motioning for Haikyo to follow him to the stairwell. He traveled down into the building and down the blue carpeted halls to his father's office, opening the door to step inside.

Haikyo blinked, curious, when he grabbed her but understood quickly enough. She held on to him as he lifted them up into the sky and to the roof, finding herself almost unable to believe how tall Darkman Tower actually was, and she probably wouldn't have believed it unless it was in front of her like it was.

As they went up she could feel his emotions, picking up on them easily enough given how close he was. The smallest of frowns appeared on her face before her own emotions began to radiate: happiness, peace. While it wouldn't manipulate his own it would give him something to latch onto if he wished. She wasn't the type to manipulate other people's emotions, and she certainly wasn't going to do so to him.

As he released her and motioned for her to follow him she did so, her fire filled gaze darting around in more curiosity as she walked after him, taking in everything she could see. "...Wow..."

Alec was sitting behind his desk. There were the usual problems. City things, Zombies in the factory district, a rising crime rate, a riot in the Prison. The Demon that had tried to have a go at his grand daughter was dead, but the vengeful spirit that killed Squall was still out there... somewhere. Who knew what it would do, and when.

While massaging his temples and trying to figure out a solution to the current problems on his plate, he suddenly felt the presence of someone very familiar appear outside, accompanied by someone he'd never met. Alec Jr? Had he actually come back home to Edge City? The kid had taken a big dislike of this city, and especially this building, but Alec didn't blame his son at all. The kid went through some traumatic shit at such an early age, something he'd tried and failed to prevent.

Jr was carrying whoever it was with him as he flew up to the roof. They made their way down the stairwell, and Alec watched the door open. Jr waked in, bringing a grin to his face. The last time he'd seen his son, he had red hair and resembled his mother mostly, but now he was sporting a new look it seemed. Except for his red eyes that he'd inherited from his mother, and white hair that was cut shorter, Jr was the spitting image of himself.

"Now there's someone I hadn't expected to see back here until long years from now," said Alec, re-adjusting himself in the large leather recliner. "Junior. How've you been, son? Real good to see you."

Jr could feel the happy and pleasant feeling being let off from Haikyo, but it did little to shake how he was feeling. Nothing would erase what happened here all those years ago. Jr tried little to think about that time, and kept his face in the bored or tired mask he usually wore, but an experienced person would know the look was actually that of depression.

He opened the door to his father's large office, seeing that it too still looked mostly the same. There were still comfy couches and love seats, still flat screen TV's with DVD's and various video games hooked up to them. Dad still sat in that big chair that used to belong to his grandfather Darkman. Dad still looked the same too, having changed none since he'd last saw him. He even had on the same clothes.

"Dad," Jr said with a nod as he walked over to stand before the large custom desk. "Good to see you too. I guess i'm alright, been helping out Amaranth with her island. Trying to stay out of trouble and drama like usual..."

Haikyo followed Jr. into the office, glancing around some more as she did so. She still couldn't get over how big the building itself was, but now she was distracted by how lovely the office was. She'd never been in such a nice place before, but then again, she spent the majority of her time outside.

When she heard the male behind the desk begin to speak she turned her fire filled gaze to him, arms folding lightly across her chest as she took in his appearance. It was easy enough just by the way he looked to figure out that this had to be Jr.'s father. Her gaze then turned to Jr. with his reply to his father. A small smile was still upon her face, and the look of curiosity in her eyes, as she returned to looking around the office once more. She wasn't about to interrupt their conversation, especially with the way Jr.'s father had made it sound, the two of them probably hadn't talked in a while. She wasn't about to get in the middle of that.

She continued to radiate the happiness and peaceful emotions, but it was relatively more dimmed then it had been, simply because she was far too distracted to both look around and to continue to radiate such happy emotions at the same time: especially when her own curiosity was trying to take over.

"So i've seen. I don't know if you know about what's been going on, but i've had a few... problems... of my own around here. Have you been told the story? About how one of my new recruits went over to that city called Shinkai Shigai and started a situation that created a vengeful ghost? Aside that, some Demon took over New Vegas and appeared on Amaranth's island, but from what I hear, you're the one that got rid of it. I was told you made it look easy too, it's good to see that you can still defend yourself, even after you'd changed some because of... well, you know."

Who was the girl with him? Alec had never seen her before. She didn't look familiar, and Alec wasn't aware of Amaranth recruiting anyone new besides someone named Ryuukishi. There was something about her that reminded him of his wife, Sunny. She was a strange one too; Alec could feel happy, peaceful feelings radiating from her. Without the aid of any of his supernatural abilities he could tell that this one was no ordinary girl. Alec opened a drawer next to him to pull from it a bag of sour cream & onion potato chips, sliding the bag across the desk toward his son.

"And who is this beautiful young lady that you've brought to visit today? You still have good taste in women son, that much you surely must have gotten from me. Is she your girlfriend?" Alec asked with a grin, leaning back into the leather recliner.

Jr picked up the chips his dad slid over, pinching open the bag to immediately shove in a handful of chips. There was the familiar crunch sound as he wolfed them down. He didn't really respond to his father praising him for killing that Demon, for he was never one to brag or be full of himself. It was when he said "even after you'd changed some because of... well, you know" that he'd just look even more depressed, staring at the carpet beneath his black sneakers. Bad memories, bad memories...

"Yeah... I heard about the Squall guy, and how you asked him not to go over there messing with that Himitsu lady's city, and about what happened to him," Jr said, looking back at his father, eating several more chips. Then in a rare moment for Jr did he make a face that wasn't bored looking when his father asked him was Haikyo his girlfriend. Frowning with a look of irritation at his father's attempt at embarrassing him he said "No!... Don't start being a weirdo dad, it's nothing like that!"

Jr grumbled under his breath before shoving in another mouthful of potato chips. "...This is Haikyo." Jr turned to her. "Haikyo, this is my father, Alec Sr. But i'm sure you can tell that just by looking." Jr turned back to his father. He thought of how to say the next statement without revealing too much about her, and without embarrassing her. "...Haikyo...kinda grew up without any parents or guidance. She's a mix of Dragon and Phoenix, and she doesn't know much about either species. I donno about Dragons, but since i'm part Phoenix too, I figured maybe I could show her some of what mom used to teach me, and maybe we could come ask you what you knew, since you were around mom all that time when she was figuring out what she was. Speaking of mom, when's the last time you saw her? Any idea when she'll come back from traveling in space?"

At the mention of the city she was from her attention perked slightly. She didn't care exactly where the person who had attacked had come from, but more of the fact that Himitsu had hidden away while her people were in danger, and did nothing to try and stop it. But, she kept her anger in check over the situation, anger was one of those emotions she liked avoiding, especially because her inner Dragon liked it just a little too much, and liked to show it's face when she was feeling particularly spiteful.

Haikyo's own emotions flared slightly as she picked up on Jr.'s depression worsening. Like before, her emotions spiked, radiating more of that peacefulness and happiness. At least, until his father asked if Haikyo was his girlfriend which was about the time she slammed her mental shields in place, causing the emotions she'd been radiating to disappear completely behind the impenetrable wall she was capable of hiding them behind due to her empathy abilities.

Haikyo nodded to Jr.'s statement about being able to tell that was his father just by looking. She even offered a soft, "Hello." to Alec Sr. Then, she listened in silence, a small smile forming across her face, as Jr. described pretty accurately the whole situation; minus the more private details. Not that she would have minded much about Jr. telling his father about her being created in a lab: of course, she liked to avoid any sort of questions as to what happened to those people and why she was now free... especially because that tended to cause people to take several steps back, or run screaming.

Haikyo. Emotions were coming off of the girl like a fountain. Alec wasn't really one to pry, but he didn't know this girl from Adam, and she was hanging around his son. ...Hmm. A fusion of Dragon and Phoenix, by humans who secluded themselves in laboratories and did sick experiments on animals and such. She'd walked the planet having no idea who she was or what she could do, but a chance encounter lead to the discovery of those responsible for how she ended up, along with countless others. So she'd taken it upon herself to seek revenge, taking out every lab in a bath of fire. Alec hoped she succeeded, and planned to even have a look around to see if he could locate some of these labs himself. Alec could also see that she had the ability to control and project her emotions, as she'd shut hers completely off when Alec asked if the two of them were an item. Such just made Alec grin some, and he decided not to pry any more than he'd already had.

Telepathy:

"It's nice of you to be a friend of Jr's, he spends too much of his time by himself nowadays, that's not healthy."

A large screen appeared before the desk. As he started typing on the invisible keyboard on the desktop, signaled by the desk lighting up beneath his fingers, Alec also realized she was from that city, Shinka Shigai. With all the troubles and strict laws there, it was no wonder the girl chose to wander around. She had enough troubles; there was no room for her in the mess that had happened with Squall and that spirit.

"Your mom... after the sith were destroyed, she stayed here for a while, a few years... but her people are out there in space, and I guess she felt the call to go to them. I know she's still alive, i'm sure you can feel it too. You know what happened to her when she merged with that Goddess, how it killed off a lot of her emotions, but...I'm sure somewhere deep down she knows she has family here. She could show up any day now..."

Alec himself often wondered the condition of Sunny, and even Ness for that matter. Lex... though once a close friend, in their last encounter, after a minor dispute over who was truly the top killer of the Squad, Alec was forced to fight and defeat him. It was that day that each of the strongest members of The Chaos Squad went their separate ways.

"Now, as far as being a Phoenix goes, you'd know more about that then I would. Your mother used to beat it into you through many ass whoopings up on the heliport, remember? If you really want my opinion anyways though, i'd say practicing using your Phoenix forms until it felt like second nature. You know? Until it feels like an everyday thing, like walking or riding a bike. And Speed. The #1 lifesaver in any situation, Speed speed and more speed. Always train your speed."

Dad just loves embarrassing me, as usual. I wonder if he ever ragged on Serena like this---oh wait, he almost Devil Gunned Serena's wedding. He was right in being able to feel that his mother was still out there, alive somewhere. He was also right in knowing that fighting and merging with that Goddess on the surface of the sun changed his mother in a very dramatic fashion, and often he would wonder if she truly didn't care for them anymore. Perhaps this was also one of the reasons Jr always looked so bored and carried a "So what" attitude.

So he'd have to show Haikyo what he knew himself, and cling onto the hope that someday his mother and even Serena would show up again from where ever they were. "Speed. The #1 lifesaver in any situation, Speed speed and more speed. Always train your speed," Jr said in perfect mimic with his father. "...Doesn't sound like a bad idea. I haven't used my Phoenix form in a long time... haven't had to. The exercise won't hurt though..." Jr crunched down more potato chips.

"Listen, dad, i'm gonna go up to the house and grab some things from my room, show Haikyo around some before we head back to the island. I'll come and say something to you before I leave..." Jr started walking toward the door of the office, shaking his wings several times before folding them up behind him again.

She kept her emotions on lock, keeping herself from radiating them more while she listened to the two talk. She had a slight inkling that one of them was poking around in her head, but she shrugged it off. It didn't really bother her as much as it probably would have bothered someone else: there really were no thoughts she had that couldn't exactly be known, she wasn't an overly secretive person after all. At least, so long as whoever was doing the poking didn't end up having a problem with her revenge goal she had set for herself, or the other goal that was slowly forming in the back of her brain, unaware for even herself, the goal that had started to form the moment she was informed of exactly how that whole thing in the city she was from went down... her and Himitsu were not going to be on friendly terms. Ever. And neither would her and that dragon of Himitsu's.

She listened carefully to Alec's suggestion. Using her own Phoenix form was a hell of a lot easier than the Dragon one... her Dragon one led to all sorts of instincts, like burning things down, or eating someone, or just otherwise leaving a trail of chaos and destruction: but, that's what Dragon's did, right?

"Hmm.." She found herself pondering that she should probably train both, because in the end, someone like that Demon could show up again and if for whatever reason Jr. couldn't get there, she'd be on her own, and she should ensure she knew how to defend herself: even if all she really wanted to do was wander around the beach and enjoy herself.

She watched Jr. turn to walk to the door and followed after him, her curiosity rising slightly. She was still fascinated by the entire building, so the idea of getting to see more was rather appealing.

Jr walked back down the hall and up the stairway back to the roof. Assuming that Haikyo was walking along with him, he'd lead her along the path that lead over to the 3 story penthouse. Up the stairs and across the large porch where there were build-in swings with large pillows, Jr approached the front door. It didn't have a knob, only a rectangular silver piece next to it. Jr put his fingers on the piece, and the sound of locks could be heard opening. He pulled the door open and allowed Haikyo to step inside.

Darkman took his time building the house, having spent long years in the design. Things he'd collected from all over the world were on display, and the house was decked out with some of the finest of furnitures and decorations. The entire first floor was sort of a museum. The room near the front door was a display of many guns, its walls covered in pistols and rifles.

"Grandpa spent like 80 million years collecting all of this stuff, so be careful around it, he gets real nasty when he's mad."

The second floor was the house of the building, containing bedrooms, living rooms, dining rooms, dens, several bathrooms and a large kitchen. Behind the walls was a large network of secret passages and compartments that were very easy to get lost in. Jr would lead Haikyo through the many halls and passageways until he reached a room with a bunch of old drawings of a man wearing a trench coat carrying a big bag and wielding what looked to be a shotgun. He opened the door and saw that his old room was still the same, except the window wasn't shattered, and covered in blood...

The bunk bed had the same blue sheets, the bottom mattress, his, being larger than the top, his sister's. His blue recliner, his big screen TV, all of the unplayed video games still in the brand new wrappings. His fish tank, still having much life within, which meant the Royal Butler must regularly visit and feed them. He sat on the bottom bunk for a moment, staring toward the window.

"..."

Haikyo remained close to Jr. as he showed her around while being careful not to touch anything. At his warning about all of the stuff she gave a nod of understanding, making another mental note to keep her hands in her pockets of her shorts: which was exactly where they'd been before she even entered the house.

She kept looking around with her fire filled gaze, incredibly curious about everything, especially as they reached the second floor. When Jr. lead the way into his bedroom, a bedroom that it looked like he had shared she glanced about a bit more, her curiosity peeking even more. She noticed the chair, the games, the bunk bed, and slowly wandered her way over to the fish tank, looking side at the life it held, curiously.

She then turned and looked towards Jr., noticing him staring at the window. She figured it had something to do with whatever had happened here that made him feel those negative emotions. She didn't want to pry in his business, or force him to talk about something that he might not want to, so instead she looked back to the fish tank, pondering what to say instead.

"I had a fish once... didn't make such a good pet." Her head tilted slightly to the side. "I got angry one day and accidentally cooked it..."

He was about to respond when he suddenly felt as if something was wrong. The weather got really bad outside. It didn't get this bad on it's own, no, someone was mad. Extremely pissed off. Jr had already proved that he had the means of protecting himself and those around him, but he wasn't stupid enough to go running into a violent situation when he didn't have to. Jr wasn't sure what was going on, but it was serious enough to shake him out of that funk he was in over what happened here all those years ago. There was no use continuing to be depressed over this. Returning here and seeing this place again... it was the close of a book he rather didn't read anymore.

Then glancing toward Haikyo when she spoke, he thought possibly, it could also be the opening of another one... possibly. "Listen, Haikyo... I can't stress this enough, and please don't take things the wrong way, it could seem that i'm trying to seduce you or something like that? But really, it's not like that at all... I can sense that something is going on... something serious. I don't know exactly what's up, but it doesn't start raining and thundering like that out there unless my dad or my sister gets seriously pissed off. I'm sure me and you will get filled in on what's going on, but since this has something to do with my niece's island too... I'm thinking the smart thing to do would be to just stay out of the way. So let's crash here for a while. There's all kinds of food to eat, TVs and Computers to play with, or if you're tired theres beds to sleep in..."

Haikyo turned slightly, taking her gaze off of the fish tank and to the window. She blinked a few times, moving closer to the glass for a moment, and not stopping until she was about five feet or so away from it. She didn't say anything for a moment, drawn almost curiously to the sudden and nearly overwhelming amount of rage that seemed to becoming from below them.

After a moment she closed her senses off, flesh breaking out in goosebumps. "Ugh.. is that what is causing the rain? I can feel it... I don't think I've ever felt that much anger, not since...." She stopped, her gaze moving to the floor. "Not since I got free..", she finished after a moment. Free had been an understatement: what she should have said was 'not since I burned that lab to the ground and slaughtered everyone inside'.

She put a smile back on her face, banishing the thoughts from her mind and shrugged. "I don't mind being stuck here for a while... I really have never been inside of a house this big before."

"Find a book... right. More like get out of the way...", she mumbled beneath her breath as she walked into the penthouse and took a glance around. She had been sent to find some sort of scrapbook or something in her mother's room - a book she personally wondered even actually existed. She wouldn't put it past her mother to tell a little white lie to get her out of any sort of dangerous situation: and that had surely turned into one.

However, she paused as she made it to the second floor: she wasn't the only one in the house... she could feel it. Scythe still open, and resting on her shoulder she wandered down the hall. The presence she could sense was her Uncle's, but given what had just slaughtered Demi, well.. she wasn't taking any chances. Those bullets and that sword... she wouldn't have stood a chance either.

Outside of Jr.'s bedroom door she lifted a hand, rapping her knuckles against the other side of the door before dropping her hand and waiting for some sort of response....

Jr heard the knock on the door and stood up from his bed. It was raining cats and dogs out there. He wouldn't be surprised if some of the streets below were flooded. It would be easy for Jr to use one of the many techniques passed on to him from his father and mother to find out what was going on, but all of it seemed like a headache he'd rather do without. If anything, he wanted all of this to blow over so that he could resume his usual lazy routine of wandering the hot beaches and trying to find a comfortable spot to take a nap...

His Niece was behind that door, and he wondered why she didn't just come in. Jr opened his door to see his Niece, soaking wet, holding that weapon. "Ok... so, what's with the big knife?" Jr asked. "If you break anything, it's gonna be on your head... Grand Dad is serious about all his old stuffs."

Haikyo continued to stare out of the window until she heard the knock. An eyebrow rose as she turned slightly in the direction of the door, watching Jr. go over and answer it. It was the little girl with the cape she had seen roaming around from time to time.... an that was one hell of a large weapon.

She kept herself silent, wondering what Jr. had already asked. Why was she carrying around such a big weapon like that? Could this have anything to do with what was going on with the weather and the massively large amounts of anger?

Her silvery gaze took in Jr.'s appearance as he answered the door, and then Haikyo's also in the room; she didn't have a problem speaking in front of the female. She sighed and glanced at her weapon before looking back towards her Uncle. "Demi's... dead. Or... well yeah. Dead. Some vampire hunter showed up on my island and Demi sacrificed herself to save Nanalie. The man... Cross was his name... he had special bullets and a sword..." She shuddered suddenly, remember that hellish feeling from just watching the video of all of it.

"They were both holy, specifically made to kill vampires.. and likewise people like myself and my dad. There was nothing dad nor I would have been able to do to stop her from dying." She shook her head slightly and took a step back. She removed her scythe from where it had been resting on her shoulder and flicked the small switch. In a manner of a second the scythe folded safely back up into its normal boxy looking form, an she hooked it back on to her waist.

"Grandad brought Demi back.. but there's large chunks of her missing, she looks really young, and doesn't know who a lot of people are I guess, she's no longer a vampire, and is like.. a ghost or something.. and well, Flynn and Maxi got pulled into the office about the time mom sent me to come here and find some sort of book or something... But, mom's in a real bad way, so's Grandad. Mom's like.. just leaning on a wall and stuff, looking like a very scary bodyguard or something."

Demi dead?... Hunh. Jr thought the girl was a few cards short of a full deck, but he never thought she'd die, or deserved to die either. A Vampire Hunter?... Jr kicked himself for leaving the island when he did. He could have done something to stop it... but everything happened for a reason, and it was because of this that Jr never used his time powers to meddle with reality.

"Ehh... so that's why there's this big ball of anger beneath us then," Jr said, taking it all in. He wondered if his father was going to kill Maxi or Flynn, or even what his sister would do. On a bad day she could be just as crazy as Demi used to be. "Poor Demi... all a bunch of bad business. It's gonna make it real hard to lounge around and enjoy the heat..." Jr grumbled some. "But yeah... I figured something bad was going on, so I thought i'd chill here, out of the way with Haikyo."

Jr moved a little closer to his niece, speaking in a tone only she could hear while Haikyo was occupied with the fish tank. "Speaking of, I told her about the whole thing with Himitsu and her being behind the scenes somewhere while all that craziness went on in her city. My guess is she's not gonna wanna go back over there with all of those stupid laws and the boss running away, what if she wants to stay on the island with us? And where IS that Himi chick while all of this new drama is unfolding? Hiding like she was last time?"

Haikyo went back to watching the fish, between glances out the window. She found herself wondering how powerful those below had to be to be able to cause such a nasty storm like this. And she found herself feeling bad for whoever this Demi person was, or the Nanalie person she had died trying to save.

A frown cross her features, and remained in place. She had never really lost anyone, never having gotten close to anyone before... but she knew the pain. She had felt that pain from dozens of others when the city she had been from was attacked and all of those people had been killed. It wasn't a nice feeling... and the anger was understandable.

"Good idea, especially seeing as I think someone's probably going to be dead by the end of the meeting, or at least hurting...", she said in response to Jr.'s comment about staying here and out of the way of what was going on in the office below.

She then blinked as Jr. moved closer and began to explain the situation with Haikyo. It took all of her self control not to glance at the female: she didn't want her to feel as if she were being talked about, even if she actually was. Her brow furrowed for a moment as she thought hard about the situation her Uncle described to her.

She didn't blame Haikyo for not wanting to return to that city: especially because with what little information she had gathered on the female, she knew enough to know she was an empath of some sort. So all of that anger and sadness? That had to hurt a bit. She replayed in her mind's eye the situations with Haikyo since she had first come to Amaranth's little island. She hadn't caused any trouble, though it had seemed like several people had been interested in her, including that very dead Demon. But, those weren't things that could be blamed on Haikyo, and therefore she wouldn't hold those situations against her.

A sigh escaped her as she looked Jr. pointedly in the eye. "I plan on forcing everyone, including Himitsu and that dragon off of my island as soon as I return home. This makes three attempted attacks on my island. One against myself and dad with that Demon. Then again when you killed him... Now Demi's death at the hand of this vampire hunter. I dunno what's going on, but I don't want people on my island who don't belong there to begin with...", she responded, keeping her voice low so that it wouldn't be easily over heard. However she continued, still keeping her voice down, "But, I don't blame Haikyo for not wanting to go back, especially with all those weirdo's sniffing around her... So, she's welcome to stay... but she's your soul responsibility, and it'll be your job to keep her safe like you have been. I really... I really don't want anymore innocent blood spilt. I have a feeling there's about to be enough drama going on without more innocent victims thrown into the mix..."

Jr didn't want to be involved in that dramatastic situation going on downstairs. He was thinking about fixing a big fat steak sandwich and finding something to watch on one of the TVs while burying himself within a mound of pillows and comfort, not killing and mangling people, or being so stressed out that it caused hurricanes and typhoons. The whole thing began to irritate Jr. Everybody down there needed to take a chill pill.

"Sure, sure... no problem. I'll make sure nothing happens to Haikyo, she won't suffer any drama or have to worry about getting hurt. I think I may even make the feather I gave her even stronger since this crap is going on now, just in case. No worries here Amaranth, when all of this blows over, i'll bring Haikyo back to Sugure."

Haikyo, having grown bored with the fish tank and all of the wonderful life in it, and not wanting to eavesdrop on the conversation Jr. was having with his niece, wandered back over to the window. She folded her arms across her chest and just went back to watching the rain fall.

After a moment she opened up her blocks again, searching for the emotions that were going on beneath them. Not only was there anger, but she could also feel confusion, and pain. Emotional pain. With a wince she cut herself off again: they weren't her emotions, and unless they were somehow going to affect her she didn't want to feel them.

She yawned softly, her stomach giving off a sudden and soft grumble that told her that the food Jr. had mentioned was probably a good idea about now. She didn't like feeling hungry, it tended to be one of those weird things that triggered her dragon side she couldn't yet control well. Though.. she had to be practically starving for that to happen, so it wasn't as if she had fear of bursting into a giant scale covered creature or anything within the next five minutes.

Amaranth nodded in response to her Uncle's words. She knew, despite his normally lazy attitude, that he wouldn't allow Haikyo to come to any sort of harm. Which was good... because if one more person ended up threatened, hurt, or killed she was liable to start absorbing people like she had heard stories of her father doing. She was more than capable of it, and if it would end the drama then that was what she was going to do.

"Good, good. I'll be... well. I'mma go get this book for my mom, drop it off, and then bail. There's a giant nasty blood splatter spot I gotta clean up unless Grandad beats me to do it and sends someone to go clean it up before I get there. Be safe..."

With that said she turned, walking down the hallway and towards her mother's room, off to find that damned book... if it even was really there.
