Summoning a Ghost [NR][Destiny or Invite]

Amaranth blinked as her mother moved. She began to pick at the edge of her red cape again, at one of the loose threads there. She stared down at the roof, listening as her mother explained things to Ghost.

When she was finished Amaranth glanced upwards, her gaze resting on Ghost. Her form flickered again, becoming solid once more. Her red and black hair blew in the breeze, covering her face for a moment before she reached up, pushing it out of her way.

A surprised expression was on his face again when Destiny told him that she and him had a daughter. That was why she felt so familiar then. But when did that happen? Ghost tried to think back, but he had no idea. Destiny never mentioned anything to him about being pregnant, and he couldn't even remember them doing the deed. Another total surprise. Amaranth, huh... but how could that be?

"Pregnant... and a daughter? But how could I be a father? I'm still just a kid mysel---" Ghost stared to say, until looking down at himself. "...Oh, or maybe not?" He stood up. Ghost created a clone of himself. It appeared in front of him, and both of the Ghosts looked each other over. "I guess I grew up too! I musta been fighting so long that I never noticed."

"Ha ha! Look at our hair!" said the clone.

"Heeeey. I kinda like how it looks now."

"We look like a porcupine! Like we stuck our finger in the light switch! Ha ha!"

"Shaddap!" The two Ghosts started to wrestle around until the clone disappeared. "Bleh. He always cheats." From somewhere another "Ha ha!" could be heard. "Shaddap!"

Ghost pushed his cape behind both of his arms and looked at his new family. He still felt like this was an illusion, or he was dreaming. Were they really there? Or was he about to wake up within his nightmare again, forever trapped in some madman's maze. Ghost picked up Amaranth and held her up in the air. "My daughter Amaranth, huh!" he said with a wide grin. "She has all of your good looks, Dez! She looks strong too, stronger than me! You could probably kick your old man around the block a few times by now, yeah?"

Ability used:

Destiny chuckled softly at him and the clone, shaking her head a few times as a smile spread across her face. She folded her arms lightly over her chest and nodded in response to him describing Amaranth. "She's very strong. Seems she got the best of both of us. She can use all the strongest of my abilities and yours too; my shield, my halo techniques, even your smoke."

Destiny couldn't help but grin. "Strong enough that she owns her own island now. Turned it into a resort of sorts after I brought it out of the ocean for her. We'll have to show it to you. Demi and her.. boyfriend.. Flynn live there. They both help Amaranth run the place..." She had so much she wanted to tell him, but stopped herself. She didn't want to over load him with all this new information, so she was going to just take her time with it all.

Amaranth giggled as she watched her father and his clone wrestle. She stopped picking at the thread of her cape and giggled again when she was picked up; a huge smile spreading across her face.

"Maybe I could. I beat up the monsters and experiments that escape my factory... So, I have lots of practice.", she responded, happily enough.

He was surprised indeed. The kid was so strong that even she was a boss, and had her own island. Demi was still around too? Ghost had to wonder if that girl was still crazy. It was probably worse by now, since it was years later... Ghost felt so far behind, in the dark. There was alot he didn't know about.

Experiments and factories, and she was fighting them? A feeling inside he'd never felt before began to awake, probably the fatherly instinct to want to protect his offspring. He didn't want the child to have to fight at all... but it was too late to pull the father card and tell her not to. At this point she could probably easily kick his ass all over this rooftop.

"Heh... I feel like there's this big blank between now and the time I was in INC. This is all still alot to take in, so let's fill up that blank real slow-like..." Ghost said, pulling Amaranth close and inhaling her scent. While squeezing the child gently, some of his smoke came fourth to spread and begin to enter Amaranth. It was a harmless, painless process. He didn't even have to say anything, she would know full well that she now had the ability to summon him to her, no matter where she may be.

Destiny watched the pair, smiling. She felt like she'd been waiting for this day for forever, so she could only imagine how it was making Amaranth feel. At Ghost's words she nodded in agreement. "I agree. Slow is better..."

She crossed the last few feet that separated them, wrapping her arms around the pair of them in a hug. This was the outcome she'd been hoping for; all of them safe and happy. No war going on to cause any sort of issues; no violence at all. Just time for their family to grow and be together without having to worry about fighting against the rest of the world.

"So.. want do you want to know first then?", she asked after a moment.

Amaranth wrapped her arms around him when he pulled her close, hugging him tightly as she'd been waiting to do since she saw him being pulled out of that odd doorway. She picked up on the new ability he'd given her; being able to summon him no matter where she was and she giggled softly.

And then she was being hugged by her mother too, and another happy smile spread across her face. She looked back to her father, tilting her head curiously as she waited for him to ask a question. Her halo reacted to her happiness, glowing brightly above her head, but not bright enough to where it'd be painful to the eyes.

She had a bunch of questions she wanted to ask him so that she could get to know him better; but she held her tongue, figuring he needed his questions answered first. She was sure she'd have time later to ask as much as she wanted to.

A sudden and abrupt wave of tiredness came upon Ghost then, and he found himself becoming very drowsy. He'd been fighting for a long time... years even. He was a Ghost, but even he got tired from time to time. Ghost could feel his arms and legs slowly becoming like rubber, so he put his daughter down after a smooch to her cheek.

"Uhhhh, I can start asking questions and stuff later," he said, his eyes drooping. "For now I just wanna take a nap. We can play catch up once I get some rest...."

Nodding she pointed towards the doorway that led to the stairs and inside of the building. "Alright, let's get you inside then. Rooftop's not the most comfortable place to pass out... or so Demi told me." In her minds eye she could remember that day very well; the pair up here sparring and how she had actually, for the briefest of moments, had knocked the vampire into some form or another of unconsciousness.

She remained beside him, waiting for him to move so she could follow, encase he passed out in the middle of walking. She knew he had to be tired; fighting for all those years? Probably nonstop too? That had to be exhausting.

Amaranth, beaming happily, ran ahead and opened up the door after she was smooched on the cheek and put back down. She held it open for them, practically bouncing in place. Her happiness radiated around her like a giant cloud of energy; and a forgotten dead plant next to her that she had randomly placed there on one of her many visit began to bloom back to life without Amaranth even meaning to bring the thing back from the dead.
