My new Intern [Sammael, Lilim, or Invite]

Haikyo had been busy since Sammael had called. She had pulled out the machine she had used before, entered in the information already stored in the database on her computer about the girl known as Lily Smith, and created an employee identification card for Lily when she arrived. Even if the girl didn't accept the internship – which she hoped she would – she would still need the identification to get into the living quarters and rooms upstairs, let alone to get past all of the guards without any sort of hassle.

She was curious to see how Lily was adapting to changing from a half demon half human into an angel. But, she figured she would find out soon enough. She was sure Sammael would be bringing the girl by soon – and the sooner they got this done the better.

So, for now Haikyo leaned back in her chair with Lily Smith's identification sitting on the desk. Her office doors were wide open, obviously expecting their arrival. The air around Haikyo shimmered from her natural body heat, but the air conditioner was on full blast; making the heat that surrounded Haikyo more visible. She didn't believe in hiding her true nature: if they were going to be living with her then they would be allowed to know she was far from human.

"This way, Lily. We're almost there." Samael's voice would ring out into the halls as he stepped from the elevator down the hall from Haikyo's office. He moved causually, taking his time. There'd been no problems since he and Lily had departed the church. With his new rosary carefully hanging around his chest, he was now leading Lily to meet what was possibly soon to become her new boss.

As they they would come to the open doors of Haikyo's office, He would grin at Lily, sweeping his arm as he allowed her to proceed ahead of him into the room. "And that concludes the mini-tour! Please make sure you have all valuabes on you as you exit the ride."

He would look up at Haikyo, nodding to Lily. "Brought her in boss. Next request?"

To say that Lilim was amazed by the Palace would have been an understatement: this place was magical. Like something out of a children novel; she was half expecting to see a little princess running around in a pink dress with ruffles. Shaking her head to herself, and trying to ignore her own silly thoughts, she walked into Haikyo's office with a chuckle at Sammael's comment.

As she looked towards Haikyo she could see that the woman seemed to give off a shimmer like hot pavement did in summer time, and while the air around her looked hot the general air of the office was cool as if the air conditioner was cranked up high to counter act whatever it was Haikyo was doing. Lilim had a sneaking suspicion that this woman was far from human.

”Hello, I'm Lily Smith – or Lilim as is my real name.”, she would introduce herself as as she approached the Boss' desk. She didn't want to lie to Haikyo, not if she was going to be staying under the same roof as her. The Boss had a right to know her real name, even if it might bring up some nastier questions she would rather not answer – like those about her mother, Lilith. ”I was told that you might have a job for me?” Lilim wasn't one to beat around the bush after all.

Haikyo would smile upon seeing both Lily – or Lilim as she properly introduced herself as – and Sammael enter. She would motion to the two comfortable chairs across from herself. ”Please, have a seat you two. We've got a few things to discuss.”

She would nod a bit at Lilim's question. ”Yes. I would like to hire you on as my intern if you're interested. You'd basically share this office with me, and be more or less a secretary. No dangerous tasks or anything like that. Your hours would be flexible of course, allowing for you to continue to go to school if you wanted, as well as have more then enough personal time. If you're interested I can have a desk brought in rather quickly...”

Haikyo would pause in speaking and slide the identification card she had already had made up across the desk and over to Lilim. ”Regardless of your choice you'll need that while staying in the Palace. The upper two floors are completely locked down with scanners and can only be accessed with the bar code on that – each one is individualized per person who receives one. It'll also keep the guards off of your back. The local authorities also know to.. look the other way... in a manner of speaking for those who carry those identification cards on them – so it'll help if trouble arises while in public. When you've chosen a room you want as your own you simply scan the bar code and it'll lock that room so that only you can enter – unless there's an emergency.”

Haikyo would then glance over to her computer screen and press several buttons before turning her attention back to Sammael and Lilim. ”I've also decided to give you both some credits to spend: given the circumstances I want both of you armed with the best stuff. I highly doubt, despite the way things have turned out, that the danger has passed... My own personal experience dealing with Demons tells me they don't give up easily.”

She would then shrug. ”Unless there's anything the two of you have to add that's pretty much all I needed to say for this meeting. The credits are already put into both of your accounts, and are accessible right away.”

Samael would take a seat when offered, arms crossing over his chest as he listened to Haikyo speak to Lily. He was right; Haikyo was offering Lily a job as an intern, one that would keep her out of danger. While Haikyo didnt say it herself, Samael was pleased himself as this would make his job easier to keep an eye on both of them.

As Haikyo spoke, something she said triggered a thought in his head. She said that private rooms could only be accessed by one person unless there was an emergency. He would have to inquire about that later. If he was to be in charge of security, then it might be best to know how to override locks.

Samael sat quietly, listening to Haikyo, raising an eyebrow when she said she was givng them credits to spend. It seemed that he wouldnt have to worry about not having the credit to spend while out in Edge. He could probably pick up extra supplies while there as well. As Haikyo continued to speak, Samael was creating a mental list when he suddently stooped once Haiyko finished.

"Say, remember when I said I needed to go to Edge? Is there anyway that I can arrange for transport to take me there? Lily here says I'd need to take a boat or fly there. Given how I can't fly... I think I'm gonna need to either swim or catch a ride."

Lilim would sit down in one of the chairs that Haikyo indicated and kept quiet while giving the Boss a chance to speak. The job she spoke of was an internship here in her own office: that kind of opportunity would likely never present itself again in her life time so she definitely wasn't going to pass it up. Plus, it would look excellent on any future job she might try and get later on – not that she planned on quitting this one. ”I'm not going to pass up a chance like this; I accept.” She would take the identification card that Haikyo slid across the desk to her and look at it curiously while listening to Haikyo continue explaining things.

She would definitely have to make sure to keep her identification card on her at all times – especially after Haikyo finished explaining that not only would it help here in the building but out on the street as well. Finally, Haikyo said she was giving them both some credits, and as buttons were pressed on the computer Lilim couldn't help but grin a little: she had never really had money. The nuns had taken care of her needs, and provided her with her necessities, but she had never had just money to spend on what she wanted.

Lilim didn't have anything to add so she stayed silent. She glanced to Sammael when he asked his question and then back to Haikyo, wondering what her answer would be.

Haikyo nodded to Lilim, glad to hear that she had accepted her offer. She made a note in her computer to have a desk brought up from storage so that Lilim would have a comfortable place to work at. She already had some tasks in mind that she wanted to get her started on – but, that could wait a bit longer. At Sammael's question a grin spread across her face. ”I've got a boat... a very fast boat. It's docked now, ready to go at a moment's notice. I just have to make a quick phone call and you're golden. So, just let me know when you're ready and I can get you set up. The boat would have you there within an hour at the most – and that's if the weather is iffy.”

She would reach into her desk, thinking suddenly, and pull out a communication orb and roll it across the desk and over to Lilim. ”Since you agreed to your position you'll need that. Hold it in your hand, or touching your skin really, and say the name of the person you want to talk to. They'll appear in the orb and so long as you maintain contact you can speak with them. You can only talk to someone else who has an orb. Also, the only person who can hear the conversation when you're holding the orb is you, so no worries about people overhearing things they shouldn't.

Samael nodded, a small smile gathering on his face. If Haikyo was willing to loan him a boat to get to Edge, he would be more than happy to use it. He was also pleased to hear that Lily was going to accept the position as Haiyko's intern. He looked over at Haikyo, flashing a thumbs up.

"I guess you're part of the family now!" He looked over at Haikyo still grinning. "Perhaps we can all go out together at some point to get to know each other?" There was no ulterior motive to this suggestion; social setting would be the best way to get to know coworkers. He had no intrest in getting into their pants; he was celibate afterall. "Is there anyplace we can go?"

Haikyo said she had a boat, a very fast boat. Lilim personally had only ever flew in airplanes before, so a boat ride was something to look forward to. Plus, it would mean she could put off learning to fly until later: she had a feeling she was going to be doing a lot of crashing in the process.

"Nifty." Lilim took the communication orb next, looking it over for a moment and noticing the purplish colored swirling mist inside. She then pocketed it, ensuring it was on the opposite side of her Sphere of Destiny: she didn't want to risk getting the two confused in a moment of need after all.

At Sammael's question about a place they could all go and hang out she focused her attention back on Haikyo. If the other female didn't have some suggestions Lilim did: she knew of a couple decent restaurants, and other places to hang out.

Haikyo grinned at Lilim's comment and nodded: the communication orbs would definitely come in handy – though she would likely eventually upgrade to some kind of cellphone so they could all make calls on the go to those who didn't have the orbs. But, that was for another time, not today. At Sammael's questioon she tilted her head a bit, thinking. Human establishments were all well and good, but if something went down it would lead to casualities, plus Haikyo didn't like the idea of having to hide her true nature.

”There are a few establishments in Soubi dedicated to non-humans. One near Rose Academy actually. They serve the best food, too. And they've got pool tables. It's quite fun to watch how competitive everyone gets over that game...”

Samael would grin wider now, hopping up to his feet. It would seem that everyone was on board with the idea of hanging out. Slinging Kurikara back over his shoulder, he would stretch himself, bones popping rather loudly. "Are we going to set a date for this little event, or we can do it now? I'm down for whatever, whenever."

Lilim looked between Sammael and Haikyo: she didn't matter when they did this – though she was also curious to see her room and to go and take that trip to Edge City. She had heard much about the place, but had never stepped foot into it properly. So, her curiosity was burning quite a bit. Her life was definitely beginning to feel like a wild roller coaster ride: less then an hour ago she had been a half human half demon, been impaled by an angel's sword, and then brought back to life and purified in a sense by God himself. Then not only was she offered a place to live in the Palace, but she had been given a job and a huge starting bonus.

Life, was definitely a strange thing... but she was still ready for anything.

”Hm. Well, I have some paperwork that needs finished up. Plus, I'm sure that Lily would like to go and check out her room as well. Plus you mentioned going to Edge... so why don't we do it after you get back from the trip? That'll give me plenty of time to get through this stack of papers, this way no one can complain when I decide to take a break.”

She would eye the stack of papers wearily; it was a good three inches high, but much lower then what she was normally used to dealing with. When she had first taken the position as Boss she had had a pile nearly twelve inches high to deal with. So this was much, much better. ”Plus, I can go harass the maintenance guys before it gets too late to bring in a desk and chair for Lily.”

With another nod Samael would grin again, turning to walk away. "Anytime, ladies. Boss, if possible, we can leave to Edge tommorow. This way, Lily can get well rested up and toured through the rest of the palace and whatnot."

Samael would stop at the door, looking back for a moment. "If you need me, I'll be in my room making phone calls. I'mma see if I can get in touch with this supplier so they can have my order ready for when we get there.  Who knows. Maybe we can look around Edge while we're there."
