1. The city is Death Enabled. This means that "No Kill" topics are not allowed.
2. Surrounding Edge City is a "Dead Zone," a phenomena brought about by Darkman and Alec Kane. It is illegal to attempt any of the following without a Company Pendant: Teleportation of any kind, Astral Projection, dimensional travel, attempting to destroy the city, attempting to manipulate time or reality, causing an extinction level event scenario. The laws of the Dead Zone are absolute, and cannot be over-written or tampered with by anyone other than Alec Kane, Jr Kane, or Darkman. While attempting any of these techniques initially resulted in death, the Dead Zone has been altered so that trying will simply render the attempt null and void.
Pure Blooded members of the Kane family that have been recognized by Company systems do not need a pendant.
- Kanes that can operate in the Dead Zone without a Pendant:
Alec Kane
Jr Kane
Destiny Kane
Demi Kane
Artemis Kane
Amaranth Kane
Seraphina Kane
Sicarius Kane
Extra Note: The Company Pendant allows it's wearer to perform supernatural abilities at will. It allows full access of Darkman Tower and it's secure areas. Attempting to breach Darkman Tower without one will result in severe consequences. Attempting to teleport inside of Darkman Tower - with the Company Pendant or without one - will leave the individual who tried in a near death state.
3. Edge is a very violent city with a corrupt police force. While most petty crimes get ignored, and most murders go uninvestigated, there is -somewhat- of a justice system. Too much crime will send the bad boys coming for you. (Jail/Prison Threads must have paragraphs of a decent length, and pertain to your character in the Jail/Prison environment. No filler, please. Do the crime, do the time.)
First offense: 1 day in the City Jail. (3 post thread to get out)
2nd offense: 3 days in the County Jail. (5 post thread to get out)
3rd offense: 10 days in Edge City SuperMax Penitentiary. (10 post thread to get out)
4th offense: 30 days in prison. (15 post thread the get out)
5th offense: This will give your character 2 final choices: life in prison or death by electric chair/guillotine/lethal injection/firing squad. (Some death row inmates will be given one final chance to compete for their freedom on "Smash TV," a reality gameshow) Any one of these punishments can also be handed down at any point due to the severity of the crime.
4. Police? Yes. Going to jail? Yes. Battling the police?... is not a good idea. While you may kill/escape the first arresting officer(s) in front of you, stronger law enforcement forms will begin to appear to hunt you down, such as SWAT and the FBI, and if needed, the Army. If the situation becomes drastic, a specialized secret task force will be dispatched to detain/eliminate you, and finally the Boss himself will come to deal with you. The end result of a battle with the law is your character dead or locked away for life, so a better idea would be to do your time and move along, or avoid the police altogether.
5. As stated, Edge City is a dangerous place. Those officially accepted into The Company (at the rank of Henchmen) are given protection and strict orders to not kill without good reason, but while an ordinary citizen/criminal you are considered "fair game" by anyone/anything else that happens to be lurking about, and can be arrested, attacked and even killed at any time, (and vice versa) so be prepared.
6. The Boss can choose to evict out-of-towners from the city at any time. Failure to comply within the specified time limit can result in the arrest, removal by force, or the death of your character. The Boss, as well as any Company member, reserve the right to enter any thread marked "Private" or "Invite only."
7. Don't like any of the current areas in Edge? The city is always expanding. For 5,000 credits one can have their own custom area built into Edge City. (In a PM to Alec Kane, send the name of the area you'd like along with a description of your area. The credits will be deducted and the area will be added at the next earliest convenience.)
