"Hmm...", a soft sound escaped the female as she stared at one of a dozen monitors in the security room of the Underwater Lab. It showed first Avery and Artemis taking off out of Makkura followed quickly by her mother. When she zoomed in, something that took a simply few button presses on one of many keyboards, she could see that her mother was carrying something that looked like a clear bag filled with several vials of something and some packets of syringes. Odd, very odd. Added in with how fast her mother was moving, and the urgant look on both adults faces, she assumed that something was going on. But what could it be?
Amaranth, who was seated at her desk that was in the shape of a cresent moon and filled with all sorts of keyboards, monitors, and paperwork, turned her swivel chair so that she was facing the left side of her desk. She entered in a few codes which caused the monitors to change to the various angles of the island. She flipped through all of the cameras feeds multiple times, checking to see if anything was out of the ordinary - which it wasn't.
Brows furrowed as her frown deepened. Whatever was going on, and she was just going to go ahead and assume that something was, it wasn't affecting Sunset Island. That, of course, didn't mean she wasn't interested in finding out. She pushed her chair back and away from her desk and then stood up and walked around it and to the doorway. She removed her lab coat; revealing the newest outfit she was wearing beneath (see the picture). She pulled her hair back into a quick ponytail and then grabbed her scythe.
She could have just as easily sent someone else to Edge City to find out what was going on, but if it was serious she wanted to hear it for herself. While her father and Holeman would always have her back, Amaranth herself had been the one to decide to take charge of Sunset Island, and that meant that if something was going on she was going to step up and make sure it didn't effect her people - or her family for that matter.
She walked down the hallway, and out of the hidden door that led into the Underwater Lab; all while ignoring the beautiful scene of fish and underwater life that normally she took pause to notice. Once on the beach, halo glowing brightly above her head like a second sun, she lifted herself into the air and took off in the direction of Edge City; hoping that it was nothing too serious going on.
