Current Events [Open]

Jr's clone came flying into Makkura. It waved to Kinzoku, who was still on his constant vigil to protect the village. It flew down the main street and slid to a stop before it reached the drawbridge above the bottomless moat that lead to the Tower. Many people saw Jr and waved to him, thinking it was the real Jr when it was simply a clone. Still, the clone waved back with a grin.

The clone went inside of the tower, looking for Artemis, Avery, Dez or anyone that could pass the message along. They would probably worry, but better to know where he was and be worried than to be clueless on Alec's whereabouts.

Avery was in the front room of the tower along with Artemis who was currently in her arms. Avery had one arm holding her daughter and the other on her hip with a very stumped look on her face: she couldn't find Alec anywhere and she was becoming increasingly worried that something might be wrong. She had been avoiding bothering anyone, but it wasn't like Alec to suddenly disappear like that. However, before she could go ask Dez if she could find her father she heard the door behind her open and shut and turned to see Junior walking in.

Artemis instantly squirmed her way out of Avery's arms and once on the ground took off running over to her brother. Arms opened wide before little Artemis reached him; her obvious intent to get a hug from her big brother.

Avery just smiled and chuckled. "Hey Junior, any idea where your dad is? I can't find him..."

Artemis stuck her bottom lip out, getting a very cute but frustrated look on her face. "Yeah, where's daddy at?"

Atremis ran over to him and he quickly grabbed her up, for a hard enough hit would cause him to disperse. ”I'm not Jr,” the clone said. ”I'm a shadow clone. I was sent here to deliver a message, but whatever you do or say will be transferred directly back to Jr when i'm done here.”

After giving Artemis a hug, Jr put her back down. ”There's no light way of saying this so i'll just be upfront and honest. Alec is fine, but he's not around here. Pacific City, a metropolis just like Edge, was at one time considered it's genuine rival. It was ran by scientists who constantly tried finding ways to out do Alec and Darkman. One of these ways was by conducting experiments that involved messing with the make-up of humans and other species; to try and create an enhanced being that surpassed Alec and mostly Darkman, even with the warnings they'd given these foolish humans that what they were trying to do would end up destroying them.

“That's exactly what happened. A virus was released that turned most of the people who lived there into mindless flesh eating zombies. Today it's a world of the dead, and by some means Alec ended up there. He's in the middle of it all, and to further complicate things, the scientists created their own Dead Zone, similar to the one around Edge, and also here in Makkura, meaning he can't use any of his special powers to save himself.

“But Alec feels that he can get to the bottom of whatever happened there, and even though Jr sent a Company member who calls himself The Vigilante to rescue him, Alec is still refusing to leave. Jr sent Alec his weapons via Company rocket, and it is speculated that Vigilante will stay with him while he gets to the bottom of this mystery. Jr wanted you to be informed, and also to know that he's keeping a constant watch on them through surveillance cameras and satellite feeds. You're more than welcome to come to Edge to keep watch too.”

Artemis was grabbed up and hugged even as it came to light that this was not in fact the real Junior but a clone of him; that caused her to frown slightly, at least until it was explained that whatever was said and done would be transferred directly back to Junior when the clone was gone. When Artemis was put back down she returned to her mother's side, tugged on her pant leg for attention, and then reached up wanting picked up again.

Avery smiled down at Artemis and picked her daughter back up while listening to Junior explain what was going on. She was glad to hear it was fine, but worried nonetheless when she heard he was in Pacific City. She listened as Junior's clone went on to explain how Pacific City was Edge's rival so to speak, always trying to out do them, to out do Alec and Darkman. She listened as Junior's clone explained that some of the ways they tried to out do them was through experiments, one of which caused a virus to be released that turned most of the people who lived there into mindless zombies who fed on flesh. To make matters worse there was something like the Dead Zone around the city that kept Alec from being able to use all of his abilities, even worse than it had been in the other dimension.

Her frown increased when she heard that Junior had sent someone over to get Alec, someone by the name of The Vigilante, but how Alec was refusing to leave until he got to the bottom of things. All of this news caused her to sigh; she was going to worry no matter where she was, but at least if she went to Edge she would be able to see for herself instead of having to wait for Junior to send another clone to let her know what was going on. So, Avery nodded. Before she could respond though she heard a female voice in her ear, coming through the wireless communicator she had kept on all of the time: it was Dez "Damnit, dad better be careful. I was working on a cure in case someone got bit by my zombie, it's nearly finished. I'll start busting my butt to finish it..."

"Dez heard all of this; she says she was almost finished with a cure in case her own pet zombie ended up biting someone; she's going to finish it up now. I'm coming to Edge; sitting around here not able to see what's going on is going to drive me nuts." Artemis suddenly clung to Avery. "I wanna come! Wanna see Junior!"

Jr's clone nodded his head. ”When I disappear, he'll get ready for you to get there. Try and be careful...”

The clone then vanished in a puff of white smoke...

Avery gave a nod to the clone and then looked to Artemis; setting the small child down on the floor. "Artemis, do you remember that bag I told you to always keep in your room?"

Artemis nodded in response while waving goodbye to the clone of Junior.

Avery smiled. "Go get it sweetie and then meet me back here, okay? We're going to go on a little trip to see your brother for a while."

Artemis darted off; heading to her bedroom as fast as her little toddler legs would carry her. She never had any idea what was in that bag, but had kept it in her room all the same just like her mother had told her.

Avery meanwhile headed off to get her own, wanting this to be as quick as possible. So, up the stairs and after her daughter she went.
