| He was in Edge City now, he didn't like it to say the least. Everywhere was cold metal, hard concrete, disgusting smelling asphalt, the reek of humans.... Which is why he was hiding away in a park, just... Just walking around. He couldn't say that he was bored, but he also couldn't say that he was all that enthused either. He was just there, in a limbo like state, not sure if it was all real or not... He had been like that since Hana's passing... Oh... Oh how he missed her still...
So many years alone... That bitter feeling of loss never going away... Regret, sting of failure...
He raised a hand, and with gentle fingers he touched the jade necklace that hung around his neck. The front was two dragons intertwined with each other. Simple yet powerful words were carved into the back on the green jade; “Boundless emotion may not be described. My love is the universe, you are my love. You are my everything.” The necklace was a sort of final gift from Hana, the only thing he had left of her... He clung to it, valued the necklace over his own life. It was all he had left of Hana, of his everything... He'd kill anyone that tried to take it...
Today he was wearing a simple black t-shirt and black Hapkido pants, he was barefoot, as always, and looking just as antisocial as ever. He was not a social butterfly at all. No, he prefered to stay to himself, even on a cloudy gray day that was as beautiful as today. He hoped it rained... He loved the rain...

| She had been fighting with her inner demons for weeks now, and it was a losing battle. There was just something in her that was bad; not evil since it didn't speak of causing physical harm or killing someone - but bad. Very bad. The kind of bad that made people go out and steal for no other reason than they liked what they saw. She tried to fight it off, she really did. She didn't want to be bad, she didn't want to have these thoughts, but sometimes, when she found herself bored as she was now, she couldn't help the little proverbial devil on her shoulder from whispering in her ear.
That's what it was doing now as she stood in the shadows of a giant oak tree in the park, her left shoulder resting against the tree trunk as she stared out at the male who was playing with a necklace. Her eyesight was better than a humans, so she could see it rather well from her vantage point; and she wanted it, badly. She had no use for it, had no reason to honestly take it other than to do it just because she could.
She found herself moving forward, booted feet moving across the grass and the brick path that went through the large city park, heels clicking softly against the stones as she did so. Her hands moved down to her sides, green eyes focused on the necklace. She came closer and closer, like she was possessed by something else and then she stopped. The familiar headache, something she contributed to the little voice in her ear started up again, this time far worse than it had ever been before. A groan escaped her and she closed her eyes for a moment, waiting for the wash of random words and thoughts to disappear once more.
Before she could help herself she found herself speaking, “Boundless emotion may not be described. My love is the universe, you are my love. You are my everything.” She didn't know where the words came from, but she felt compelled to say them, loud enough to where the male would have easily heard, even if he was human; which was what she so far assumed he was.
Eyelids fluttered open, revealing the green orbs they hid, and she pressed her blond hair back behind pointed ears. Eve stands at exactly five feet tall, with a thin and yet athletic build, and lightly tanned skin. Her hair is long, waist length while in a braid, which is the usual way she wears it (two french braids going down the sides of her head to then intersect and become one single braid). She has naturally dark eyelashes, giving her the look as if she is wearing mascara and eyeliner. On the left side of her temple starts a tribal like tattoo that is magical based, and grows as she needs it to.
Her outfit today since she was attempting to blend in with the normal populace consists of a black long sleeved shirt with sleeves that go down to her fingers with holes that her thumbs stuck through and with a hood that covers her face up to her eyebrows when up though it was down for the moment, with a band t-shirt over top, this one a deep purple in color. Her legs are covered in black leggings and black combat boots, with a almost knee length skirt over top of this that matches the color of her band t-shirt.
All in all she looked human today, even though her ears were showing.. but she didn't care. She just could do nothing more than stare at the male who she had suddenly spoken to, wondering why those words had come into her brain like they had.

| He could hear the soft clicking of heels against brick, the soft 'whoosh' noise of grass being rubbed against. He turned quickly to look upon a short blonde haired, fair skinned female walking determined down the path at him, her green eyes locked on the necklace as his fingers curled around the jade. She wanted it. The look, he had seen it before in the eyes of thieves and cutpurses... She wanted what little he had left of her, of his everything. She wasn't going to take it while he was alive. No. No, she wasn't allowed to. She'd have to take it from his cold dead grasp if she wanted it. His heart fluttered sharply. It was his. She wouldn't take it. She wouldn't... No... Her hands were down by her sides, arms covered by a long sleeved black shirt, under a purple band shirt. She was wearing an almost knee length deep purple skirt, dark leggings and what he assumed where combat boots. Her hair blonde was pulled back into two braids from what he could see... She couldn't take this from him. He felt what he considered desperate anxiety deep in his gut. He couldn't bear losing this... Not this, it was all he had left... A fragile binding that allowed him to keep his sanity... It was his, he couldn't lose anything else... He stared at the girl, eyes widening as he stepped back, clutching the little jade gift like his life depended on it.... Then she stopped, her eyes closing as she spoke, “Boundless emotion may not be described. My love is the universe, you are my love. You are my everything.” His heart skipped a few beats as he stumbled slightly, tilted piny green eyes locked onto this fair-skinned pointed-ears-two-leg, pupils slitting a bit more as she spoke the words that had been inscribed onto the back of his necklace by Hana, words that had not been spoken in nearly 1,900 years... She couldn't have seen the inscription... No, no one but him had read it, not even his charge Himitsu... How could she have known this? How could she have spoken them like Hana had? This girl... She had to have been young, teenager... Definitely not his generation. She couldn't have possibly known Hana or him, no... Who was she...? It hurt. It hurt so bad, the words, the memories... I final parting gift from her, she fought, oh she had fought and failed and with her died his unborn first child... A fragile life taken before it could even feel pain... Hana's sheltering womb becoming an eternal tomb. He was a failure. He couldn't protect her. He couldn't protect them. He had failed. Failure. Disgrace. Dishonour. He had been so young. Only ten-and-seven human years when she had been taken from him... So long, so long alone. It burned, suffocating, stealing his breath away from his lungs. Drowning. Panic. Suffocating fear. Her terror running through his veins once more. It all blended together. He had been so helpless, so weak and feeble, ill-adept. Failure. He couldn't breath, he felt like his lungs were pulling up, getting smaller and smaller, his heart pacing rapidly as he struggled to get enough breath. His vision blurred for a second, what little colour he had draining from his face as he felt his hands go a bit numb. Oh, it's awful, so very awful. Why does it feel as bad as this? I want you, it's you I want. The pain's right here in my chest... When I close my eyes, all I know are the things I can't see. It's unreasonable to the extreme. Someone must know my anguish... I'm being hit with a big one now; the pain's a aching, a throbbing, a buzzing... If I keep quiet, no one will ever know. No one but me will have a clue... So I won't shout, I won't cause chaos, and I'll keep leading an uneventful life... Yes, that's right, you've got it, just put up with it and it'll clear right up; just do that, keep it up, keep fooling yourself with that..."Ha... Ha-how... How did you know those words...?" He managed to stutter out. It hurt, his everything hurt, the grief clutching at his heart like a cruel child come back to "play" with a little creature found in the yard. He hated being in public when this happened, it made him so vulnerable, but for now the female had stopped moving, just to stare at him with as much confusion, if not less than that of himself. | |

| Why is that in my head? Why did I say those things to that man? Why... why do I know his name? Maybe it's not his name. Maybe it's just a random name that's popped into my brain and really doesn't mean anything at all. Maybe... Maybe I should answer his question?
"I... don't know. They were just in my head when I saw the necklace. Then.. then a name popped into my head... Re'yoak...."
Pain, pure blistering pain shot through her and she doubled over as memories flooded into her mind's eye, memories that were not her own and yet were all the time. Pain filled her gut and she clutched her stomach as one would who had been stabbed. Her butt hit the ground after a moment and she curled up into a little ball, arms wrapping around her knees as her eyes were forced closed by the oncoming assault of memories.
Happiness. That was the biggest memory. She was happy with that person. Only.. it had been taken from them? Or was it... She was so confused. So utterly lost in her own mind that all she wanted to do was curl up into a ball and cry. And then the pain made sense as memories of being stabbed with some special sword flooded into her minds eye; pain and words spoken. So much heartache...
"Oh god... I... I'm... Hana....?"

| She said his name... She said his name, how did she know his name? What... What sort of sorcery was this? Was she in his head? No, no he couldn't feel anyone probing his thoughts... She said that the words had came to her mind when she saw his necklace... Then she was doubled over, clutching at her midsection... The same place that Hana had grabbed at as her blood soaked her shirt... Then she fell to the ground, curling up with her arms around her knees.
"Oh god... I... I'm... Hana....?"
Wh-.....Wha-....Wha-wha-what? What... How... How did she know that name? And the necklace, and the words, the inscription... What? How... How could she have know when Hana had been dead for so lon-
Reincarnation.
The cycle of reincarnation. His Hana had been reincarnated... His everything... She was right here in front of him. She was standing there, in the flesh. Gone, gone for so long... Alone, he had been alone for so long, and now... Now he didn't have to be alone. No more stinging pain... No more nightmares, no more long sleepless weeks... No more bitter regret... None... She was here again, she was there, with him again... They could be happy once more... They could be together, they could be happy, no longer alone... He wasn't alone anymore, she was with him again! His love, his universe, his everything was back! He would never let anything happen to her again, never, never again. No one would hurt her if he could help it. He would die for her. Anything, anything to keep her safe....
"Ha...na...? ... Is it really...? Hana?" His voice was soft, tender, as if speaking any louder would cause her to crumble away, like she was something fragile and fleeting. He stepped forward until he was in front of her, then dropped to his knees...
"It's been so long... I... I'm so sorry that I couldn't save you... I'm sorry that I failed you and our babe... I... I've been so alone fore so long... I missed you... It's been... So long..." He said sincerely, sadness showing in his tone, his voice airy, wispy and soft as he reached his arms forward, aiming to pull her into a gentle embrace...

| Eve placed her forehead onto her knees as she tightened her hold around her bent legs. She was so confused, so trapped in her own mind. The inner demons were one thing to have to deal with - the constant urge to steal or cause minor bouts of trouble - but this? This was on a whole new level. This was a person in her head - another her. A her that knew him, that loved him. What scared her the most right now was the fact that she could slowly feel herself becoming one with this new 'person' in her head, this new her.
Hana's thoughts were becoming her thoughts, and her thoughts were becoming Hana's. They were becoming one in the same. And there was nothing she could do to stop it. There was nothing she wanted to do to stop it. Hana wanted this, and she... well, she for some reason wanted to please Hana, to make Hana happy after everything that she somehow knew Hana had been through; that Re'yoak had been through because of Hana.
There was so much she didn't know still. So many questions that needed to be answered. That needed to be sought after. But this, this would likely be the best way to get those answers, right? So, with that thought going through her mind she slowly raised her head, blinking several times over again as she noticed that Re'yoak had moved closer and dropped to his knees... and he wanted to hug her? Hugging was fine. Hana wanted the hug, and she wasn't going to argue with herself. That would make her crazy, after all.
She tentatively reached her arms out, accepting his embrace. "There's... there's so much I don't understand... So much that scares me. There's.. there's two of me in my head, and none of it makes much sense. There's so many questions and confusion... So much confusion." They were definitely going to have to take this transition slow; else Eve might very well just end up snapping under the mental strain.

| She reached her thin feminine arms out, accepting his embrace. He let his arms wrap around her softly, muscles would contract to pull her closer to his chest in the softest way possible. He would let his head lower until his chin rested on her right shoulder gently. He would be holding her in his arms like she was something so breakable, something so very precious. He loved her, he loved her so much, and it wasn't sexual at all, no it was love on a different level, it was true care and concern for her well being, care and concern for her happiness... He honestly just wanted her to be happy... She was his everything, his universe. Their bond was of the soul level, it ran through life times... She was the other half of him, their souls two halves of one complete entity...
And when she had died the first time he had lost all sense of self... It had hurt so badly, and he had taken it out on the humans... How could blame him? The humans and their ridiculous religions and beliefs and gods had been the entire reason Hana had been labeled a witch, labeled a "sinner"... No, no... She was anything but that... She was not a witch or anything evil... She would have sooner let in a stranger than harm a person. He had known and experienced true happiness with her, and having experienced that true bliss? The sudden shock of it being taken away had made everything so dull and grey, so painfully bitter and unappealing. Being incomplete, then complete, then separated again had hurt... And now... Now she was there again, and everything would be better, would it not?
"There's... there's so much I don't understand... So much that scares me. There's.. there's two of me in my head, and none of it makes much sense. There's so many questions and confusion... So much confusion."
She was scared, he didn't want her to be scared. He wanted to wash away all the bad feelings. He wanted her to be happy, her happiness was all that mattered to him. If she was confused, he would help her to understand, he would try to answer her questions. Anything for her. He'd do anything to make her happy. He'd take down scores of men, tear anyone apart that would try to hurt her. He'd go to the ends of the Earth and more for her. This, all the things inside of her head that she must have... That must've been the reason that she had been holding herself the way she was, all this sudden stress... He could distinctly smell the scent of stress coming off of her which was why he was assuming that this was a lot for her to deal with...
"What do you not understand my love? Anything... I'll explain it all, all you have to do is tell me what is what scares you, what is confusing you... I'll answer if you ask... Just tell me what you need to know..." His voice was soft, calm, caring and concerned. On the outside he looked calm, but on the inside he was close to tears... He didn't know how to express these feelings that he was having... All this happiness, and at the same time what felt like sadness... In a strange way, it was a happy sadness... He wanted to cry from sheer happiness; he wasn't alone, his other half was with him again, no more sadness and self loathing, no more nightmares... They'd be happy again like they had been in the past. And though he just wanted to pick her up and lie down in a shady spot with soft grass and cuddle her, he would take this as slowly as she needed too... He didn't want to rush things and make her mentally snap, no no... Anything but that.... Then he was reminded of something....
"I'm sorry... But I haven't asked what your name in this life is... How rude of me..." He said softly, his tone slightly slow, as if it were some kind of barely noticed side thought. It wasn't, he honestly wanted to know her name. It had just escaped him until this moment in time.

| There was still so much going on in her head as she felt Re'yoak pull her closer. She knew deep down, through all of the confusion and madness currently running rampage through her mind, that she had nothing to fear of him. She had no reason to pull away, or worry that he'd hurt her. Even the way he held her was as if she were a china doll; priceless and so easy to destroy or cause harm to. It only helped further the way she felt; and the simple gesture of hugging and holding her opened up more mental doors, causing her mind to flood with even more thoughts and memories that were not her own and yet were all at the same time.
There was so much in her head that needed explained, and yet as these mental doors began to unlock and this strange merging of herself and Hana continued to happen, she found the questions answering themselves. Everything was beginning to make perfect sense; except for one thing... Why was this happening to her? What sort of magic was causing this to occur to her instead of some other random stranger walking down the street?
This wasn't a bad thing; in fact the inner demons she had always had to contend with had slipped off somewhere and gone into hiding when all of this mental assault had begun to happen. All of those inner demons that told her to steal, or cause other forms of mischief were all but gone now. She wouldn't miss them if they disappeared for forever, either... She hadn't wanted to be bad, and now she especially didn't want to be.
"I just... I don't understand why this is happening to me... " She didn't care that it was, she just wanted to know why. Hana had been a dragon, she was far from a dragon. She was an elf. She was smaller and far more breakable than a dragon - far more indeed. While her kind had no sort of war with the dragons, she still couldn't understand why she, as an elf, was becoming.... well, she was becoming Hana.
But, then he was asking her another question. Her name? What was--- oh right, Eve, Eve Silverleaf. "My name is Eve, Eve Silverleaf." At least that much she could answer right now. The rest was sinking more into place though, with every passing second.

| Eve. Eve Silverleaf... Eve... He liked that name... It sounded so perfect, so suiting for her... To him, everything about her was perfect, from the soft tan of her skin to her light blonde hair, the gentle curve of her cheeks, the colour of her lips, the bridge of her nose, how beautifully green her eyes were, the thick full bodied-ness of her lashes, and how her eyebrows tilted... She was perfect already, and would never need to change for him.
She was confused as to why she was experiencing what she was experiencing. Did she not know of reincarnation? He would shift a bit, lifting his head before speaking to her, "Did you not know who you were before seeing me? Or was this brought on by seeing the necklace? Every dragon youngling is told the story of creation and about soul mates... Did your dam and sire not know the stories?" If she did not know, he would be more than happy to tell her, but first he wanted to get off of the path, lest a bike rider or a city member need to walk down the path. He would pull his arms back gently, sitting back a bit to look her in the face. "Do you want to step off the path, maybe sit in the shade under a tree?" He asked, his tone showing that it was all up to her.

| Eve thought about his questions as he asked them and shook her head no several times. "No, I had no idea. Then, I saw the necklace and it just all came flooding into my head. There's still a lot of blank spots in my head that need filled in." She shook her head again. "I can't remember any stories... will you tell me? Maybe it'll help me to remember more."
She then, upon hearing his next words and realizing that they were indeed in the middle of the path, not exactly the safest place to be, nodded. She got up, arms folding around herself as she looked over to a nearby tree. She could remember climbing trees like that when she was younger, it was something she still liked to do. But, she wouldn't now... no, right now she needed answers.
She moved over to the tree, sitting down in the largest shaded area. The grass would have felt good against her flesh, had she not been wearing the outfit she was to blend in - keeping as much of her flesh covered as possible. She picked at a blade of grass in front of her, removing it from the rest, and then began to rip it into smaller pieces nimble fingers worthy of the thief she had turned into working quickly and easily. She was waiting to hear him explain to her the things she couldn't remember.
As she waited she found herself wondering what he would think of her knowing she had started stealing, knowing that she had strayed from that peaceful little path of goodness onto a darker one... that part of her was very much considered evil by those of her race.

| He got up, brushed his pants off and moved to sit down next to her in a shady spot under a nearby tree. He was glad that they were off the path, at least now they wouldn't get ran over by a biker... So she couldn't remember any of the creation stories? Well, he'd get to telling her about it then.
"Long, long ago, there was a war between Mother Light, and her twin sister Darkness. Darkness and Light have been warring since the creation of our universe, Light created the spiritual realms, and Darkness created the mortal realms, beings called humans rose from the earth. Things were quiet for a while, then Darkness created wicked beings that looked like humans, but were not as they were, hiding their truths behind a mask of lies. To counter this, Light created beautiful Lightbringers that sang the most gorgeous of songs, they too looked like humans. This is were the Darkeaters and Lightbringers come from, though you might know them as Demons and Angels, as Humans have dubbed them. Race after race was created by Darkness, and Light grew lonely. She wanted a child to help her. So, while she was in her eternal struggle against dark, light gave birth to a long bodied creature. Light gifted this creature with beautiful fur, strong scales, lengthy horns, perfect teeth, and the sharpest of talons. She also gave the first of us several more things such as: cunning, speed, strength, and emotion. Light gifted her daughter with the purest form of magic and the perfect mate so that her daughter would never be lonely or longing and soon the daughter, "Dragon" and her mate brought many children into the world."
"The old ones that taught me were wise, but fragile with age and old almost-lethal wounds. Many of them had lost what we call a soul mate to the humans or one of the other two-legged-no-horned races of the planet. The elder ones taught me what a soul mate was. It is believed that when a soul crosses from the spirit world to the mortal realms, it splits into two halves. One half goes into you, and the other half resides within your true mate's essence. Light did this so that we would know what companionship felt like, to give us something to fight for and love. Hana's soul- the soul that resides within you- is the other half to my own soul. "
He paused for a second, fingers playing over the green jade necklace. "This necklace... It was the last thing Hana gave to me before she died... She finished it the morning they killed her... This necklace... It means a lot to me, and it most likely meant a lot to her as well, which was most likely the reason it triggered this reaction in you..."

| Eve listened closely and as she did she could almost hear the story being told to her as if from another; an indication of more memories and thoughts of Hana's merging with her own. She could tell that she was almost completely one in the same; especially as she could feel how Hana felt towards Re'yoak, feelings she had never experienced before; ones that scared her slightly - simply because they were new and unexplored. She was young in the terms of an elf's natural lifespan, still considered a child to the oldest of the race - and love for a partner wasn't something that they often felt until at least several hundred years into their lifetime. But, that didn't mean she was going to fight the feeling off, she was just going to step into this whole new 'world' slowly, tips of her toes first so to speak.
"I can remember now... It all makes so much sense."
She stared up at the sky as she opened her hand, allowing the blade of grass that she had ripped into several smaller pieces while listening to the story to float away on the breeze. She took a deep breath; inhaling not only the smell of the nature around them but the smell of the city, too.
She couldn't help but smile and then chuckle at herself; she had become almost used to the smell of the city, almost comfortable with it. But, she still missed the wild. She missed being able to run just to run - especially because running until she collapsed had always made her feel better, it made her feel like she could briefly stop thinking and just flee from her troubles. "You know... it's time's like these that I wish I lived out in the forests I grew up in so I could just run. Run until I was too tired to stand; and just collapse into the embrace of nature. It always made me feel better, always made me able to handle stress easier... But around here... if you start to run it brings about bad results." Like the police thinking you were up to something, or someone causing issues because they realized that you were faster than a human... unwanted attention all around.

| The corners of his pale pink lips lifted into a gentle smile at her as she said that she could remember now, and that everything was making more sense. His slanted piney green eyes carefully observed how she moved, how she tilted her head to look up, how her delicate fingers uncurled to let the torn grass flutter to the ground like tiny green snowflakes carried on the breeze, how her own mouth smiled as she chuckled at herself after she took a deep breath...
He had never been one to just haphazardly spread his body about. He didn't sleep around. His only mate had been Hana, and after she had passed he never searched out a new partner, no it would have felt wrong to him. When he entered a relationship, he was devoted, highly so, his love unconditional even. Everything his mate did was beautifully perfect to him, every movement graceful, every smile beyond priceless. He observed and took in so much detail with everything, but he only committed certain things to memory... The green of the grass, the light of the sun's glow were nothing but flawed compared to how his soulmate looked, no matter what body the soul inhabited.
"You know... it's times like these that I wish I lived out in the forests I grew up in so I could just run. Run until I was too tired to stand; and just collapse into the embrace of nature. It always made me feel better, always made me able to handle stress easier... But around here... if you start to run it brings about bad results."
His smile grew a bit as he exhaled. So she loved to run just to run, like her own little form of escape... He knew what that felt like, flying was his escape as was swimming. The feel of the water against his flesh, or the cool air ruffling his fur... They were soothing and comforting, just like an embrace from someone that you cared about, or a warm bed, or soft sweet piano music. "Yeah... I love flying and swimming. The feel of the water gently running over my skin or how the cool air ruffles my fur... It's almost the best thing in the world, it makes me feel so embraced by nature... Like I'm home and nothing can bother me..." He trailed off for a second, letting his head tilt back until it rested against the trunk of the tree, his smile still there. He could feel his long raven black hair caught between his back and the tree... He would have to remember to knock jerk his head. "What forests did you grow up in?"

| She listened to him as he described how he enjoyed to fly or to swim for much the same reasons as she enjoyed running. Though, she had to admit she liked pushing herself past the point of no return because the burn left in her legs and chest afterward was just as appealing as the constant feeling of being able to escape whatever it was at the time that was stressing her. Or, even just running to run, because that in itself was a great joy for the elf.
But, for now she was content with sitting right where she was and talking to Re'yoak, catching up, as the modern world liked to call it. As he asked her about what forest she grew up in she couldn't help the smile that spread across her face as she remembered it. It had been so beautiful and peaceful, untouched by the hand of mankind. It was a completely natural forest with the most freshest of waterways running through it, feeding many ponds and streams, and lakes.... lakes her and her friends spent many hours swimming in. She turned her green gaze back to Re'yoak as she snapped out of her thoughts long enough to answer him, "It loosely translates to The White Forest. It was a beautiful place, untouched, and still mostly is, by mankind... it's perfect."
She turned her gaze back to the sky, smiling. "Maybe one day we can go back there and I'll show it to you.. give you a tour of the place, I know it like the back of my hand." Yes, that would be a nice trip if he wanted to come; and it would give her a chance to show him bits and pieces about her new self that he didn't know. She felt like she was cheating slightly, she knew so much about him, or at least a lot more than he did about her, while she herself remained a mystery other than the bits and pieces of Hana that had merged with her and which still were merging slowly.
"I feel like it would only be fair, you know? Since I seem to know so much about you now that Hana's in my head... but I have years of my life that you don't know about..." As she spoke she thought about even the darker aspects of her life, yes she would share those too in time. She wanted no secrets between them.

| The White Forest? Places that were untouched by man where always the most beautiful... Humans... They were destroyers, recklessly tearing apart anything that they didn't understand. To a human, everything needed a label, and if they couldn't label it or control it? They would seek to erase it from existence. Humans were too young to understand anything... No, the humans had risen from the earth by themselves instead of being created by Mother Light or Sister Darkness. Maybe that was why they were so corruptible and breakable...
He gazed at her smile, "Maybe one day we can go back there and I'll show it to you.. give you a tour of the place, I know it like the back of my hand. I feel like it would only be fair, you know? Since I seem to know so much about you now that Hana's in my head... but I have years of my life that you don't know about..."
"Going to your birthplace sounds nice..." He said, nodding softly. After a minute he added, "Eve, what draconic clan do you hail from? You can probably tell from memories that neither me nor her carried a family name, and you're likely aware that it was because both Hana's and my own clan were killed off by humans... I don't have any family left. I was just wondering who I should expect to meet when I visit your home." He took a long lock of his black hair between his right index finger and thumb, letting it play between the pads of his digits. His hair was soft, silky even, he took great care of his own personal hygiene... He for one did not like feeling nasty. After a few seconds of playing with the lock he began to braid part of it.

| Her shoulders tensed; as they should at the thought of her family. They had forgiven her, but they had not forgotten what she had done - and the judgement still stuck, as did the whispers. It was a part of her life that she didn't like to think about, but one she needed to share with him nonetheless, he did have a right to know as much about her as possible after all, the good and the bad.
"There's something I need to explain to you... something that I don't like to talk about but that I feel you have a right to know about anyway. When I was young I got a knack for being a thief - it was something I couldn't control really, a little voice in my head that I still have, but back then it was so much louder and so much hardest to resist. Not the worst of crimes... but among my people it was severaly punished and looked down upon. It was right up there with rape and murder. I was eleven the last time I was caught, and I was sentenced. I had picked up a gem that had slipped loose from a High elf's purse, and instead of giving it back I had pocketed it and fled. Little did I know it was a trap, something I learned later on, after I had been sentenced and punished...."
She closed her eyes, forcing back those memories; she didn't want to think about her punishment, even if it had been deserved. "I left after that, to discover, after a year that my blood was... tainted, so to speak. At least according to the other Elves. My father.. is a Dark Elf." She shook her head, this wasn't the point of her story, or at least not the main one. "What I mean to say by all of this is... there's really no one to meet. I have family, yes... but we're distant at best. I shamed them, and there's really no fixing that. But still... the White Forest is a lovely place to visit, regardless... even if we do just keep to ourselves." As she finished her story she wondered if he would have a problem with her 'profession', it had kept her alive after all, which was the only reason she was here today - stealing food and clothes, among breaking into places to live.

| So that was why she had looked at his necklace like she had. She was a thief of material goods. If she was stealing to keep herself alive, she should have nothing to be ashamed of, but if she was stealing when she didn't need to? That'd be a different story in his moral book... But then again, he couldn't judge anyone. He had been a murderer, even if it had been in wars. When he had joined those wars he had not a reason. He had joined simply to kill humans. He had never fought because the opposing side of the battle was threatening his god or his beliefs. No, he had killed simply to hear their screams of pain as his steel cut them, as his mace crushed their bones...
Then she said something about them viewing her as someone with tainted blood. She didn't have tainted blood, regardless of her elfin race... Wait, she was an elfin-draconic hybrid? That explained why she didn't smell like a dragon... But that didn't matter to him, she was his mate, his partner; she was perfect in his eyes.
"Eve. From Hana, you know nearly eighteen years of my life, you know my personality as if it were your own, but I was without her for nigh on nineteen-hundred years. When I lost her, I lost myself for a long time... I've killed hundreds, thousands of men... The village, where her and I stayed... All of them..." He shook his head slowly as he spoke, "... The women, children... Elderly. I destroyed that entire village after they took her and my child from me, and after them I joined human war after human war just to shed blood because I thought they all deserved it. We've all stolen something, be it materials to keep ourselves alive, or lives just for the sake of revenge." He let out a soft sigh as he closed his eyes and shook his head, tilting his head back once more, his face looking rather saddened. "Revenge lead me nowhere. It didn't bring her or my child back... It only numbed the pain for a short while, then I wanted to die again. We all have our own inner-demons, and I won't judge you for your past."
He let both eyes slit open so he could look at her. "I'm... I'm sorry that I killed all of those people... I know that-... I know that she disliked violence passionately, yet I hurt all of those people in a drive to get out of the pain..." Stealing materials was one thing, but killing so many people...? How could he possibly ask her to not judge him? How could he possibly ask her to still love him, or even look at him? He had done something so wrong without second thought... And life... He himself knew how fragile life was... He knew first hand.

| He had murdered masses of people... and yet, for some reason she couldn't be bothered by it. The whole idea should've caused her toes to curl and her blood to boil - she should've been repulsed. But, she wasn't. Perhaps it was because she had seen first-hand what humans had done to her other self, or perhaps it was the Dark Elf blood running through her veins that tainted her thinking, but either way, she was rather okay with his confession.
"I... can't blame you really. I can't be repulsed by what you did, in fact I'm sure I would have done the same had the situation been reversed. Loss and death have strange effects on people, it makes them do things they otherwise wouldn't dream of doing." She fell into deep thought for a moment, thinking of the differences between herself and Hana. Hana didn't like violence, of that she was sure, but she... well, she didn't mind it. "I guess there's... some differences between the Hana that was and me now... a lot of them." She squirmed uncomfortably, hoping that this new revelation didn't bother him.
She took the time to look around, taking note of her surroundings some more. She watched a woman walk past pushing a stroller, a kid go by moments later on some roller blades. Then some joggers. She watched them until they disappeared behind the shrubery and trees the park offered, using them as a distraction.

| She... She wasn't repulsed? She wasn't disgusted by what he had done? She wasn't going to judge him, she wasn't upset with him?... Oh... Oh he could have cried with relief, in fact, he was certain that he could feel tears begin to well up in his slanted eyes as he turned his head to look upon her face with the greatest expression of awe and gratitude. The insides of his eyebrows rising up a bit as his lips parted slightly, he let himself slide down the tree trunk, his neck relaxing to allow his head to rest on Eve's shoulder if she didn't move or otherwise tell him 'no'.
He was so happy that she wasn't upset with him, for years and years he had worried and regretted and feared... He had killed so many people, misery loves company... It was one of the truest statements the humans had ever spoken. He had been absolutely miserable and broken, mad with grief when she had been taken from him... And for some reason he had felt that humans needed to be punished. They had taken everything from him. His sire, dam, brothers, sisters, friends, mate and child. He felt that they needed to suffer as much as he had. He had felt justified in his actions, in his motive, but to be honest, he knew that no bloodshed was justified.
Eve being different from Hana didn't bother him. Eve was raised in a completely different way, a completely different time period, she had experienced different things. Of course she wouldn't be exactly like Hana. "I don't expect you to be a copy of Hana, you have the same soul, but different experiences, and an experience is what shapes our personalities and views on the mortal realms."
He watched a female push a stroller, a wheel-footed-two-leg-youngling and a few joggers go by. "I'm sorry that I killed all of those people... I guess that misery just loves company."
