Newcomer [Cala Jo or Invite][NR]

Someone else had risen through the ranks. With so much going on with family affairs, he hadn't been able to pay much attention to The Company. No research had been done. Alec had spent the last few days heavily intoxicated, having to smoke mass quantities of the herbs because of his constant healing factor.

He was still coherent enough to send the request that the newcomer pay him a visit in his office. He didn't want them accidentally killing themself by getting into a fight somewhere and pulling off some flashy move. Another dead body wasn't something he wanted to be looking at right now.

Guards downstairs were instructed to let the newcomer in, and to show them where the elevator was. Alec didn't know if it were a man or a woman, and waited to see for himself.

Cala paused outside of Darkman Tower, head tilted backwards as she stared up at the massively tall structure. An eyebrow rose as she found herself wondering what anyone wanted with her here. But, she didn't lag behind as she was allowed in the building and shown to the elevator that would and did take her to the proper floor.

In the elevator ride up she found herself wondering what had happened over the past few years. She personally hadn't been around much since the Murder INC. days, when she used to hang out with Demitria. But, the death of her friend was enough to have her crawling out of the proverbial woodwork again, which was the reason she was here now.

She walked off the elevator and to the office door, whistling some chaotic tune as she did so. She knocked and then entered, shutting the door behind herself. "'Ello."

The office was still had a thick layer of smoke hovering within it's atmosphere; enough to give whoever took too many whiffs of it quite a buzz. The mountain of bud on his desk had shrunken slightly. Alec's halo could visibly be seen through the smoke, always glowing brightly whenever he was intoxicated as he was.

The door opened and a female walked in. Alec didn't recognize her. He sniffed the air several times and could easily tell she was a Vampire. Alec didn't have a problem with Vampires in general - as some of his best friends were Vampires - but he'd battled many of them throughout his life, and there were only several few that he trusted. It would have been an easy task to read her mind and find out who she was, but he was quite lazy at the moment and didn't feel like going about the task. Hearing it straight from her mouth would be more satisfying. Alec coughed several times while fanning smoke away from his face.

"...You might know this already, but i'm Alec Kane, i'm Boss. I'll have to apologize that I didn't have this meeting sooner, we've been having... family problems. You're the new Hitman, huh? What's your name? Tell me something about yourself."

Alec pressed a button and caused a chair to rise up from a door in the floor. The seat was made of a memory foam alloy that formed to the body of the person that sat in it for maximum comfort.

Cala blinked at the thick layer of smoke as she glanced around the office. Curious, definitely curious for the young looking Malkavian.

She listened to him introduce himself, her mind playing with his name for a moment. Alec Kane... Kane... Destiny Kane's... father? Yes, yes, this was Demi's best friends father. She had never been close to Destiny, but she was close enough to know at least that: though Demitria's mind had helped offer up some of that information too.

She looked to the chair he made appear and moved over to it, sitting herself rather comfortably in the thing. It had to be about the most comfortable chair she had ever sat in. But, she didn't dwell on it, he had asked her question right? Right.

"You might or might not remember me by my name... Cala Jo. I used to hang around with Demtria and Maxi, and Destiny back when Murder INC. was around." An insane giggle escaped her. "The Malkavian who liked pelting people with shiny objects... usually sharp shiny objects." The female shrugged, her grin slightly unhinged. "Not much else to really tell... I was trained as a hired killer since I was six, and I've been a vampire since I was about ten. Went and took a nice long nap, kept in my castle an such till I felt the urge to leave, that was about the time Murder INC. started up I suppose... got bored when everything died down and sort've disappeared off the map I guess you could say... now I'm back due to my friend Demi dying."

She tilted her head slightly. "Not much else to tell, really... "

Another Malkavian... and she knew Destiny and Demi, when they got into the most trouble, and Demi wore that big hat similar to the Alice in Wonderland character? Uggh... Was she going to be a troublemaker too? With the way she started laughing this would probably be so.

"...I'm all too familiar with the methods of you Malkavians. We've had enough shit going on around here as is, so i'm going to trust, since you know what happened to Demi, that you're going to stay out of trouble."

Alec opened a drawer and pulled a necklace from within. There was a pendant attached to the necklace in the shape of the letter "C." Alec slid it across the desk toward Cala.

Necklace:

"This entire city is under the effect of a phenomena created by my father called the "Dead Zone." Attempting to do certain things like teleport, manipulate reality, open gateways to other dimensions and cause widespread destruction are illegal, and will cause the Dead Zone to instantly vaporize you. Wearing that pendant will let you bypass those rules, but never try to teleport into or out of this building, even with the pendant."

Cala attempted to calm the unhinged grin that was almost forever across her face: but it was hard. It gave her face the sort of grin a child would wear when being scolded for doing something naughty that they had enjoyed just a little too much to care. But, Cala cared, she just couldn't get the grin off of her face any other way. "Don't worry. I have no intentions of doing something that would end up being potentially dangerous to my chylde. Don't want to see what happened to Demi end up happening to her.", words spoken with crystal clarity, as if her mind had suddenly sobered up to allow for the moment of complete sanity... even though there was still nothing sane about Cala.

She reached forward, removing the necklace from his desk and staring at it a moment. The words "Oooh, shiny", escaped her in a soft whisper before she slipped the chain around her neck and listened carefully to Alec describe that it allowed her to get around rules that would otherwise lead to her death, and took special note of the fact that she wasn't to attempt to teleport in or out of Darkman Tower.

"That all seems easy enough to remember.", she said after a moment before looking up from the distracting necklace to Alec, waiting to see if he had anything else he wished to say to her.

Yeah... this one was looking to be even worse than Demi. Alec could tell just by that crazy grin that never seemed to leave her lips. He wondered just where the hell all of these nutsoid Vampires were coming from, especially now that he'd turned where most of them gathered into a Texas-sized burning hole in the ground.

"...Remember these things...Respect other cities. If attacked first, then by all means defend yourself, but don't go starting trouble... Don't abuse the power i've given you. Don't use this to kill innocent people. Don't try to use this on me... If you ever get it in your head to ever try to betray me... Good luck. Keep your head above water and avoid trouble, and you stay on my good side. We don't need anymore... incidents."

Alec leaned back within the leather confines of the recliner and lit another "Cigar." He'd grown use to the mountain of bud upon his desktop and decided to leave it there until it was smoked out. The ashtray nearby contained many butts. Alec slid a special key across the desktop next; a key that would take shape in the lock that it was inserted into, making it a unique key that only Cala could use.

"Don't lose that... On the floor below are suites, if you don't have somewhere to stay already. The rooms that have green locks are rooms that are taken, red means they're available... If you have any questions, don't be shy. Ask me anything. Otherwise, this meeting is adjourned..."

Cala reached forward and took the key next, replaying his warning in her mind. It'd be hard: not to go around causing trouble, but not impossible. Now, if she could just keep her chylde out of trouble too then they'd be all set. That line of thinking brought around another as she stared at the key. "Hmm.."

She looked up to Alec, the unhinged grin back fully in place. "Would it be alright if my chylde stayed with me? She shouldn't be any trouble, and I'll make sure to tell her to keep her nose clean." She really didn't want her staying somewhere random in the city: not only because she didn't want to risk her killing herself by doing something stupid and causing that death by rule breaking thing Alec had described, but also because she didn't want someone like that Cross fellow who had offed Demi to show back up somehow, or someone like him, and off her chylde.

Alec took a hard hit of his "cigar" while silver eyes take note of the crazy look on her face. The office became further clouded with the green colored smoke. Was she looking like that because of that Malk blood, or because she'd caught a buzz from all the herbs in the air? Either way Alec would have to keep a close watch on this one. 3 Malkavians in Edge City, that was a recipe for conflict and an upset stomach.

"...That's fine with me. The suites are built to accommodate families as large as 5 people. If you ask the small androids for things, they can fetch them for you, if not my Loyal Butler is around. Pick up the phone and press 2 for him, 1 for me."

Cala gave another nod and just smiled. "Good, good. I"ll keep all of that in mind! And don't worry... I won't be annnny trouble." She meant it of course, she had no reason to cause him any sort of trouble: and unlike back in the day, it took a lot to make her bored enough to start flicking weapons at random passersby. She had... matured slightly. At least enough for her not to be as child-like as before: but responsibility did that for you.

With nothing else to say she got up from the comfortable chair and gave a wave. "Guess I'll go check out my suite then, and then go snatch up my chylde from whatever random thing she might be doing...", the end of her sentence was mumbling, pure and simple, like thoughts spoken out loud. She exited the office, closing the door softly behind herself before taking the elevator down a floor to go find an empty suite and settle in...
