Calling All Recruits! [Open, NR]

Where was Maxi at?

She didn't know, but the question had popped into her head more than once. No one had signed up recently, so she figured that it was now or never to meet all these new recruits. She had looked over the list, memorizing the list to memory: Luca, Spook, Remiel. She half expected someone to show up at the last minute, and was more than willing to accept another recruit if they wanted to show up slightly late.

So, she had positioned herself outside of the gate, leaning up against the wall right by the opening. Her back was up against the wall and her arms were folded across her chest, one leg crossed over the other as she waited. Since she hadn't known where Maxi was she had sent a text on her way downstairs to Demitria, asking for her to join her for the day: since Malkavian's were all connected, she figured it was as good as any of a way to keep Maxi up to speed on what was going on: this way he knew everything that happened today, and who was who.

She yawned softly, lifting her hand to cover her mouth, as she waited to see who would be the first people to show up...

Her cellphone going off had alerted her to Destiny's text. She rolled over with a groan, glad to find that her headache was finally gone: the merging had finished, and her personality had taken a drastic change because of it as had her memories and thoughts: but otherwise she was the same old crazy-ass Demitria. She picked up her phone and gave the text a quick read.

She got up, mumbling about Angels and their early morning wake up calls, as she dressed herself: thankful she had taken a shower the night before. She did a quick brush job on her blond hair and then threw it up into a ponytail, leaving the loose and braided strands to hang out of it, as well as her bangs: she then tied a blue bandana around her head which matched her blue cami v-necked top. She slipped on her white bow-tied sleeves and her scarf, as well as her capri length blue pants. She slipped her feet into a pair of flip flops, grabbed her keys, and then... well, went out the window.

She jumped to the ground below, landing in the courtyard in a crouched position lightly. She then stood and walked her way to Destiny, leaning on the wall next to her. "You do realize that if almost anyone else asked me to get out of bed this early in the morning I'd probably strike them, right?"

She had been walking through the city, wings pulled in and hidden. The halo brought enough attention to her, her entirely white choice of clothing brought more attention. Hey, not her fault. She liked the colour white. Today she was wearing knee high black boots, black leggings, white shorts and a white tank top. Her pale blonde hair was down, allowing her shoulder length hair to be blown gently in soft air that was the result from her walking. She felt kind of weird, a bit bare. She wasn't used to showing this much skin, having been dressed in full body Ao Dais nearly her entire life.

Her eyebrows pinched together when she realised that she was lost. And she needed directions least some shady person drag her into a back alley and seek to have their way with her virgin body. Yeah, rape, not on her bucket list. She looked to a dark haired man, he was wearing a black jacket and jeans, leaning against the street front wall of a store. "Umm... Excuse me sir... This is my first time in the city... And I'm lost... Do you know where I can find help?"

"Depends on what type of help you're looking for miss."

"Town hall? Main square? I'm looking for someone..." Anxiety was starting to show through her tone, her halo started to glow just a bit brighter in her embarrassment. Oh, she was hopeless and useless at times.

"Look her little lady, just head towards Darkman Tower. 'M sure someone there will help you. It's the tallest building in the city, can't miss it." He added in the last part after looking at the helpless look on her face. After a quick 'thank you' she continued through the city and eventually found herself at the foot of a massive tower... It was bigger than anything that she had seen in her life, and Sekkaigan-jo was a large castle... She looked around, spotting a gate and two ladies, one with auburn-ish coloured hair, the other blonde. They looked like they were waiting on someone...

Walking up to them she glanced down, but kept them both in her peripheral vision. "Excuse me, is this Darkman tower? I'm kinda lost, and I don't know where I am... But some nice guy told me to come to Darkman Tower..."

Having been kicked out of Heaven was not in Remiel's list of things to do, but alas it had happened and there was nothing he could do about it but move on. Remiel didn't regret his choice in removing Demitria King's and her daughters memories and likely never would. That Flynn bastard had got what he deserved for abandoning them like he constantly was doing and that was that.

Remiel crossed the street in time to see the young girl dressed in white walk up to the red haired female and the blond that were leaning up against the outside of the gate. Remiel approached as well after waiting for the white car that was being driven up the street to pass. He stepped onto the sidewalk on the other side of the road, keeping at least an arms length of distance between himself and the young female so that she didn't feel crowded.

"Excuse me? My name is Remiel, is this where I'm supposed to check in? I signed up for the Company." Remiel awaited his response, tucking his hands into his pin striped business suit; looking like an average businessman with his wings and halo hidden, as well as the majority of his presence masked so that he appeared as nothing more than a human.

Body Flicker Technique:

A small vortex of wind appeared. It was small and harmless, and to those that felt it, it would just feel like any normal breeze on any normal day. Leaves appeared within the vortex before the form of a young man was visible. The wind stopped and the leaves dispersed, revealing the Shinobi, Spook. He was dressed in a dark green hoodie black baggy pants and specialized running sneakers. A backpack could be seen on his back, with several cans of spray paint hanging from it. The handles to swords could be seen over either of his shoulders. One of the swords had a strange black glow about it. Spook was wearing a hood over his head, and a gas mask over his face that totally concealed his identity. All that could be seen of his face were 2 glowing green eyes beneath the bug-like eye sockets of the mask.

This looked to be the day that the Company was beginning to hire people. Others were there, but Spook didn't look at anyone for now. Some people began to recognize him from some of the things he'd been doing, and he saw that word spread quickly in a city even as large as this one. The attention he was getting was becoming annoying.

Spook folded his arms and remained silent, looking at no one, while being aware of where everyone else was.

"..."

She shifted slightly against the wall behind her, glancing at Demitria with a sly grin as the female arrived and spoke to her. "And you know I'd strike you right back if you decided to hit me... and then we'd both be in deep trouble because shit would likely get broken and destroyed.", she said in response to her friends playful banter.

Destiny looked over as the young female approached. An eyebrow rose as she tilted her head at the female's question, assuming from the question alone that she wasn't from Edge City: everyone in Edge knew where Darkman Tower was, especially given how tall it was. "Yes, this is Darkman Tower. Are you here for the recruiting that the Company is doing, miss?"

Her lightning blue gaze shifted first to the male in the suite who had crossed the street after Himitsu, and then to the guy in the gas mask with the glowing green eyes who had otherwise seemed to have appeared from nowhere that she recognized from the News broadcast that had been going on recently. This was an interesting group, and thought it was likely safe to assume that no one else would be showing up for now, so it was time to get this started...

"If you're here for the recruiting into the Company then step forward, and give me your name." She reached behind herself, pulling a small clipboard with a pen attached; which held the names of those who had signed up, with room left over for those who might arrive at the last minute. "If you haven't signed up previously than you can give me your name now and I'll add you to the list..."

A chuckle escaped her as she shook her head; knowing full well that if herself and her best friend ended up getting into a fight they'd likely both get their asses busted by Alec for the damage that they would cause. She could remember many fights in the past between herself and Destiny where they had thrown each other into and through buildings, or smashed cars over each other... among other very violent things. A grin slowly spread across her face; perhaps a repeat of the old days would be worth the butt busting they'd likely both get?

And then she was distracted from her thoughts by the little female who had shown up, followed by the man in the suit... and finally... Spook? She reached up suddenly, hand covering her mouth as all she could do was stare for a moment. The eyes gave him away, but the feeling in the depths of her heart and soul only confirmed it. She wanted to reach out, to go to him... but she didn't know if he would realize who she was... hell, she hardly knew who she was.

"... Spook?", the words slipped out between her fingers as she slowly lowered her hand from her mouth, her thoughts drowning out the words her best friend spoke from beside her. She just couldn't focus on anything else for the moment but the man in the gas mask.

"Yes, this is Darkman Tower." She sighed softly with relief. "Are you here for the recruiting that the Company is doing, miss?" Hahaha what. Recruitment? Company? What company? What was this she was going to get dragged into?

"Uh, No ma'am. I'm just looking for my friend Amaranth... I kinda want to know why and how the island got moved to the other side of the world..." She looked to the man in the pin stripped suit, then a new guy who was dressed in a dark green hoodie, and black baggy pants. She could see handles to swords over both of his shoulders. She couldn't really see anything of his face but his eyes... Interesting, and his glowing green eyes were kinda piquing her curiosity. The man in the suit introduced himself as Remiel, and said he was there to sign up.

She looked at the blonde lady, she seemed to recognise the man with the mask on... Something was clicking in her head, or rather, it looked as much... What it was, Himi didn't know, nor did she really find herself eager to start probing with questions... Himi's hands were fidgeting with the bottom of her tank top, she was shy, and this wasn't helping. She just wanted to find her friend and get out of here before she was dragged into something that would get her smacked. Oh, she didn't like getting in trouble...

Remiel had already given his name and stated why he was here so he looked at the other people while listening to the little girl explain that she was looking for someone named Amaranth. He knew that name pretty well since Demitria, who he also noticed was there, used to be his charge back when he had been a guardian angel, but he had no idea where the little cape wearing child had gone to so he wasn't going to be much help. Therefore he kept himself silent and stuck his hands into his pockets, waiting for the rest to sign up so they could get the show on the road. Remiel was very interested in finding Alec Kane and having a chance to hold a conversation with him.

A voice...Her voice. Spook thought he was hallucinating. Was she here, in this crazy world where men used guns to put fear into people? No. The gods were playing tricks on him.

But then he saw her...She looked different here, but it was her...Aisling. This female here, she must have been this universe's version of her, like Alec Kane was the "him" here. He stepped closer, removing his hood, and pulling his gas mask up. There was a SSSSS sound as he pulled the gas mask up away from his face, then off of his head.

Spook was "your average guy." He had tanned caramel colored skin and black fuzzy hair. Once, Spook's face was horribly scarred, but Aisling healed him. Wearing a mask and hiding his identity was something he was used to, but he actually had no problem showing someone what he looked like, once he knew them enough.

Whoever she was here, he considered her Aisling, and he knew her enough. She knew him as well, since she just said his name. Spook found a purpose here, and it was great since it was the same purpose he'd had in his own dimension: Protect Aisling. Whatever he had to do here, he would do it, all so that he may remain close to her.

Spook, just like he used to when he first met Ailsing, dropped to one knee out of respect before Demi. If anyone was looking or thinking of him strangely, he didn't care. "Spook of the Black-Hand reporting for duty, Hokage-Sensei," he said to her. "I will protect you with my life."

He meant every word. If there was any of Ailsing there, she knew he was telling the truth. Spook never got the chance to tell Aisling that he loved her. The least he could do was stay by this woman until she expired, or he did making sure she was safe and happy....

Wait... what the fuck was going on?

Dez watched as the man her best friend had called Spook removed his gas mask and kneeled down in front of Demi. Did Demi know him? It seemed so...

And then it all hit her in one blow as she thought back to the things her friend had been remembering: Demi and her had always had a connection, and it came in handy, like now. Demi had merged with another mind, but Destiny hadn't understood it all until just now. This had to be the guy with the mask, the ninja, that she had been seeing at random in Demi's head each time she had taken a peek into her friends brain...

Well, okay then...

She checked off the name Remiel, and then Spook on her list before looking back to the young girl. "Amaranth is likely running around here somewhere; she's my daughter. I'm Destiny. So, while you wait until she pops up, and I'm sure she will soon, are you interested in joining the Company?"

As she waited for her answer she went over the rest of the things she had to do in her mind: show them inside, show them the area set aside for them to stay and live in while here, and then inform them all that they were to be sharing a large room with each other for the night - which would make the first test a hell of a lot easier to accomplish.

Her mind blanked for a moment as shock kicked in upon watching him remove the gas mask; not something she was used to feeling either. It was him, it was Spook. Aisling had thought he had died, and when their brains merged... well, it meant she had thought he had died. Her emotions were a jumble of chaos: happiness, joy... love? Yup, that was definitely love. She didn't know why or how she felt it; but she did. It was Aisling's love for Spook, which meant - now that their minds were one - it was her love for him. It was chaotic, it was crazy, but she wasn't going to question it any further than she already was. She was just going to go with it, and hope they both were happy in the end.

She watched him move closer and then kneel before her. His words only further confirmed that it was him. She knew that stance, she had told-- no, Aisling had told? -- him not to do that at one point in time: especially when they had started to date. A chocked laugh escaped her, still shock sounding. "Spook, no kneeling, please.", she said softly.

Did he know she and Aisling were both in the same, or did he think she was simply Aisling: instead of someone else now merged with her. "God this is all confusing, and yet it all makes sense at the same time... " She was still ignoring what was going on around her, including Destiny and the little girl for now. "I'm called Demi here... or Aisling... I'll go by either, or whatever you want to call me." If he wanted to call her something different she didn't care, not at all. Whatever made him happy.

She felt like she had a lot to explain to him... she only hoped that Destiny made this first meeting quick; so she could then talk to him afterwards while everyone got settled in.

She found herself reaching out to Spook, wanting to touch him, as she wanted to touch him and see if he was real. This all still felt very chaotic and confusing, and she felt slightly scared that he was going to poof like some sadistic twisted nightmare.

People were taking clothes off and kneeling and what? Aisling? Demi? Spook? Black hand? Did he just call her a fire shadow? What was going on? This... This was confusing her highly. All she wanted to do was find her friend and pelt her with questions as to why the island picked up and moved to the opposite side of the planet... She didn't need all this getting lost and people wearing masks and kneeling and big intimidating towers to deal with... She just wanted her bed and her music.

"Amaranth is likely running around here somewhere; she's my daughter. I'm Destiny. So, while you wait until she pops up, and I'm sure she will soon, are you interested in joining the Company?"

"Oh! Destiny! She told me about you... And what is the organisation? If it's a Mafia organisation, then I really can't... I was born into a Mafia family... You kinda don't switch families without getting hurt. Plus I work under Amaranth... Would it upset her for me to join another group as well?" Amaranth had said nothing about being in a Mafia, or her family being Mafia or anything of the like... But Himi, she was cautious, and didn't just blindly accept things that she knew nothing of.

Remiel saw what the dude with the gas mask looked like as he watched him kneel before his old charge and call her something ; a translation that he picked up on quick enough. Being an angel meant you had to know multiple languages to keep up with things, plus you picked up on stuff after a while even if you didn't want to. Remiel didn't know what was going on and he wasn't going to ask and risk giving himself away.

Remiel then turned his focus on the little girl who seemed to be filled with questions. He kept himself silent as he waited for them to progress further, or to be told to come back later, or whatever was going to happen.

Demi... She'd always be Aisling to him, but everyone here knew her as Demi... Alright. Spook realized that he must have been making a scene. While standing up again and putting his mask back on, Spook decided to try out another ability born from traveling here.

Telepathy. It was the ability to let him look and even speak into other people's minds. Spook wasn't one to violate privacy, so he didn't look too deeply into her psyche. The brief look that he did take was enough to let him know that Demitria was indeed this universe's version of Aisling, and that Aisling's own personality had come here with him and fused with Demitria. His purpose was now set in stone. He wasn't leaving her side, no matter what.

Allow me to properly go about registering to join The Company for now, there will be plenty of time for us to...'catch up' later, alright?

Telepathy:

Spook pulled his hood back on after fixing his gas mask back into place. He refolded his arms, looking to Destiny to see what came next.

"It's not, it's a business, simple as that. It runs the city, and keeps things in check. As far as Amaranth goes...", she reached into her pocket as she spoke, pulling out a cellphone. She turned the screen on and her thumbs flew over the screen as she shot off a quick text. Within seconds she got a response, and she read it before turning the screen to face Himitsu so she could also read it: the message said 'Himitsu's more than welcome to join the Company, in fact it would make her safer'. "Amaranth says it's fine, if you're interested that is."

With that she turned her attention back to Remiel and Spook. "Alright, if you'll all follow me I will show you where you'll be staying." She shoved the phone back into her pocket after ensuring she gave Himitsu enough time to read it; figuring that the female would follow after them if she was interested. Meanwhile, she made a mental note to ask Demitria exactly what was going on - she didn't want to poke and prod around in her best friends head, if she didn't have to.

She led the way through the gate, and across the courtyard, beginning to speak as she did so. "You'll find that the first floor has been set aside for your use. You will each find accommodations that are comfortable enough." She led the way inside and down the hallway. She pointed out things such as bathrooms, places they could wash up, ect. She then opened up the double doors to a large room with several comfortable looking cots lining the walls. "This is where you will sleep for tonight... well, the guys, if Himitsu agrees to join us she'll sleep elsewhere..."

"There's nothing for you to do today, other than get comfortable. You'll find that meals will be provided, and you'll find robots running around that you can ask for anything and they will get it for you. Any questions?"

Demitria watched him stand back up and then nodded as she heard his telepathic voice in her head. She responded in much the same way, "Okay, I'll be waiting... In fact, I'm going to tag along. I'm sure Dez won't keep you all long for your first day."

She watched her best friend send a text to who she could only assume was her daughter as she found herself focusing again on what was going on around herself. She then watched as she showed the phone to the young girl before turning to lead the way inside. She followed afterwards, ensuring that she paid special close attention now; especially encase Destiny laid down any specific rules.

She watched as she pointed out the bathrooms, and then led the way into the large room the recruits would be staying in for the night, glad to hear that her friend wasn't going to make them doing anything taxing yet. "Thank you.", she telepathically sent to Dez, figuring that part of the reason she was being so lax was because of her reaction to Spook's appearance.

She glanced around, wondering if anyone had any questions... If not, she planned on definitely doing some catch up with Spook, and possibly getting some answers to the few unfinished questions she had rattling off in her head.

Vampire Physiology:

She blinked several times after reading the test, tilting her head to the right, then tilting her head to the left. Almost like a curious puppy. Amaranth had said it was alright, and that it would make her safer... And the company wasn't a different Mafia family... If Amaranth trusted Destiny, then she would trust Destiny; that was until destiny gave her a reason not to trust her. As for the other people, the one called Demi, and the two guys, Remiel and Spook... She assumed that Spook was some sort of devoted something to Demi, and she knew nothing about Remiel with the exception of his current physical appearance and his name... And the fact that he had signed up.

Well, she was interested. This was a recruitment, she would most likely be able to back out if she didn't like it... She hoped that was the case... The organisation's job was to maintain the city, a business as Destiny had described it... Hmmm.... Yes... She was fairly interested, as long as it didn't cause her to have conflicted schedules.

She walked, keeping up with the group, listening to Destiny as she spoke about what had been set aside for them, about little robots that would get them anything they needed, about how she'd be sleeping somewhere different from the guys... That was a relief. She didn't know those people, she didn't know what they'd try to do. Slip a knife between her ribs or try to do... things... to her. Yeah. She was happy about the different gender different spaces idea.

"Miss Destiny, are you the owner of this business?" She couldn't help but ask.

Remiel followed after as the group was led inside. He paid specific attention to the areas she pointed out, and listened as she described that the place they'd be sleeping, other than the small female, was this large gym sized room. Remiel had no problems with any of this. All he wanted to know was where Alec Kane was so that he could speak to him. "Excuse me, miss. I was wondering where your father was, and if we were going to get a chance to meet him? I had something I wanted to discuss with him." Remiel didn't add in that what he wanted to discuss was private as he assumed she would get the hint by him not saying exactly what it was out loud.

Spook nodded his head to Demi. He looked forward to being able to talk to her again, and felt relieved that he wasn't the only one to escape the re-writing of his dimension. Now that he knew she still existed he would wait and be patient. There was all the time in the world, a new world at that.

He followed Destiny and the others into the tall building called Darkman Tower. Destiny gave a tour. Spook remembered where everything was. The room provided for them to sleep in was nice; better than sitting on a cold roof all night, though he didn't mind doing that. The mechanical devices that rolled around would bring food to eat. Spook had no questions, so he would assume that this was the end of the welcoming ceremonies. So for the moment, he would sit, and wait...

Dez glanced sideways at Demi, a grin slipping across her face. She gave a nod in response to her friends mental thanks; she didn't mind waiting to give them their first task so that Demi and Spook could talk or whatever... besides, the first task she had planned for them would be done in the dead of night anyway.

Destiny turned to face the group, her lightning blue colored gaze resting on Himitsu as she asked if it was Destiny who owned the Company. She gave a shook no of her head and smiled. "No, that would be my father, Alec Kane, who owns the Company now. I'm sure you'll meet him soon." She then looked at the group as a whole once more. "You will also likely get the chance to meet Maxi, he's going to be working with us as well... you'll be given tests and other things that you have to over-come, or that will just test to see how you handle a situation presented to you."

She then turned her gaze to Remiel. "My father's a busy man, I'll go talk to him and see if he has time for a private meeting for the two of you." Once more she turned her attention back to the group. "If that's all, I will be going... Himitsu, your private quarters are right here..", she spoke as she walked to the double door entrance and pointed to another set of double doors to the left. "It's smaller than the guy's room, but seeing as there's just you there will still be plenty of room... I'll be around if anyone needs me, all you have to do is call out my name and I'm sure I'll hear you..."

She remained standing nearby Spook, noticing the smile and nod that Destiny gave in response to Demitria's mental message to her. Demi could only roll her eyes, wondering what was going on in her friends head; but she didn't ask. She kept herself quiet and focused, ensuring that she listened to everything so Maxi could see it from where ever he was. She knew who each person was, and where they'd be sleeping. She also knew that they were free for the rest of the day.... this meant she could hang out with Spook and catch up.

So, as she watched her friend turn and walk out, she figured that this first meeting was more than over with. Which meant she could talk to Spook without having to worry about getting him into trouble or distracting him from some task the recruits might have...

[Exit]

Alec Kane? Hmmm... He sounded intimidating, like some of her father's "business" friends... And this man named Maxi, what a strange name, but he must have been a bit frightening as well if he worked for the big man...

She looked into her room... She didn't like being alone. She had never been alone in her life, Satoshi or Re'yoak had always kept watch or otherwise been within earshot, but Destiny had said that if she needed anything she could call and would be heard... It comforted her to an extent, and she would deal with this. She needed to be strong, she needed to grow. She needed to show people that she wasn't useless and just a needy little girl... No, she didn't want to be that any more. She wanted people's respect, and she didn't expect them to just hand it to her, no, to them she was just an easily confused little girl... No, no, she'd work, she'd earn their respect.

She stepped into her room and closed the door behind herself, locking it as well. Idly she wandered over to the bed and sat down. She had so much space in her head, she felt as if she could comprehend so much more, either that or normal everyday things had ceased to take up so much mental energy...
