What the fuck?Oh! Pretty colors!
Who the hell is going around lighting shit on fire now?Oh, oh! Pick me! Pick me!Are you saying that you lit that house on fire? No, not at all. I wish I did. I like fire. Fire's pretty!Demitria had almost gone to turn around: a house on fire wasn't that big of a deal, right? I mean, there really was nothing to it. The fire department would show up, spraying the whole thing with water, flooding the streets with all kinds of ash and debris as they did so. And when they were finished? There would be a smoking, smoldering pile of whatever was left behind - depending on how fast the fire spread before they showed up. But no... she could hear screaming inside. The screams were high pitched, indicating it was a female, and they sounded slightly young; like a teenager, or a preteen maybe.
Demitria sighed and rolled her eyes: she couldn't just leave the female behind. Maybe a few days ago she could have, all without thinking twice about the whole thing. She had taken lives before, both innocent and otherwise, so leaving a female behind in the hands of fate to either burn or be saved by someone else wouldn't have been an issue. But, now she was one with Aisling.. now she had morals that were better and stronger than ever before. Then the ones she even had before her father had turned her. Ugh, annoying.. but, she couldn't ignore them.
See! Told you you were going soft!
Remind me why I haven't beaten your ass, yet?Because you've been too busy saving the day to come find me!Right...She ran forward, heading straight towards the house. She could see that the fire had covered most of the first floor, and as she heard a new fresh set of screams she could tell that they were coming from the top floor. To the roof it was, then! She jumped up the side, fingertips digging into the house as she scrambled up to the top. She got to the window.
"Back up! Away from the window! Scream if you can hear me!"She heard an
"Okay!", called back over the crackling of the flames. Demitria bent her elbow and smashed it into the window, using her arm to break through the glass. Her arm received several cuts, but she ignored them, as they healed fast enough. She made sure that all of the broken glass was cleared from the window and then stuck her hand out to the female.
"Come on, hurry!"She helped the female out the window and onto the roof.
"Climb on my back, and then close your eyes." She waited until the female complied, feeling legs being hooked around her waist. She grabbed hole of the female's legs, holding her carefully so she wouldn't slip off. She then stood up, glancing back to make sure that the female had her eyes closed... and jumped.
She easily cleared the roof and the yard and landed safely and carefully on the street, far enough away to where the fire and smoke couldn't harm her.
"Okay, open your eyes, you can get down now, you're safe." She released the female, ensuring that she was on her feet as she watched the neighbor come out with a phone to his ear, obviously talking to the fire department.
"You're safe now...", with that she took off the moment no one was looking becoming one with the shadows as she slipped away.
