The demon had perhaps set his sights a little too high when he chose to pick on the child. Who knew she would be so well guarded? Let alone as capable as she had been just by herself. He was still sure, had that ticking continued, had he not escaped, that he would have been blown up. He would have to strengthen himself, work himself better and further than what he was. Perhaps he had been sleeping far too long, the world was a much different and stronger place than he imagined.
However, he wasn't going to sit by and become bored again. He had spent centuries asleep, allowing the world to have a break from his power, far too long not to just go about his business and find another, hopefully weaker, target to choose. It wasn't hard to find one either: all he had to do was look across the seas. His next target was insight: Shinkai Shigai.
He used the shadows to manipulate his form to the cities edge; reforming into a solid mass as he reached them, and stepping out of the shadows which caressed and clung to his well chiseled body as if not wanting to let go.
