| He had to leave. He was long overdue on getting the fuck out of this city. His food supplies were getting low, the backup generator was almost out of fuel, and he was growing more pissed off by the day. He'd cleared out most of the floors of the underground lab of the mindless walkers, and barricaded the ground floors as best as he could with tables, desks and chairs from the office areas of the upper floors, but only after 'securing' an emergency exit for himself incase shit went south.
The male spent most of his time in the labs, messing around with the computer systems. He'd quickly caught on to how they worked, and spent hours pouring over the data that each contained within. He'd come across some firewalls, but somehow found himself slipping past them or disabling them entirely. He quickly mastered the basic controls of the lab equipment through the computers, and soon moved on to learning the buildings schematics. Drake soon discovered that the entire building was connected on one network with varying levels of security that depended on what section you wished to access. But, he also learned that the master control to the building was located in the CEO's office.
"Are you fucking kidding me?"
It was no small feat to gain access to the former CEO's office. It was located on the top floor of the sixty story building, and with the power already running low, it meant that the male had to hoof it.
Fuck that. He needed supplies in order to make that run, even if it was within the same building. He'd have to go out into the city for supplies. He needed ammo, rope, and other shit, but all the shit he needed, he'd have to get it all back in without getting himself killed.
He'd just have to do it the hard way.

| He'd filled the backpack with a couple of the tablets he'd found, taking care to make sure he brought along the one he'd used to interact with the building systems, along with data cords and empty usb drives. He didn't know what to expect when he reached the office, but he wasn't taking any chances; the Glock 17 and Dragonstomper were tucked into his waist and backpack respectively, while the Hunting Knife he'd acquired on a previous supply run was sheathed on his right hip. Also within the backpack were several water bottles, just in case.
He wasn't going to take the stairs-- at least, not going up, and the last thing he wanted to do was die trapped in a powerless elevator. That left only one thing-- a long vertical climb. He'd have to do it in one of the elevator shafts, other wise, he'd have to risk going outside, scaling another building -- one that was more than likely zombie infested-- and somehow finding his way back across to this one.
Fuck that noise.
Climbing that elevator shaft was no joke. Given how he'd left the elevator at the first floor, he'd gone up to the second before attempting his ascent. Using the tablet that he'd hacked to grant him access to the most of the building's security clearances he was able to open, close, and lock security doors at will, but this would use alot of the reserve power. Drake took his time -- it wasn't like he had anywhere else to be. Every so often, he would open the elevator doors and step out onto a floor for a break. After clearing the immediate area of the undead and raiding a vending machine or two, he'd rest for a bit, and then continue upwards.
He had time, plenty of it. But the climbing was tedious, repetitive, but it also gave him time to think. There was something he'd noticed in the files down in R&D, something about 'Ghosts'. A tiny, floating camera meant to behave as the super-human's 'handler' and AI support while they were out in the field. The Ghosts were linked in with satellites in orbit, and connected with the systems. Production had been on hold due to budget concerns, and there had been only one created so far, a prototype, and it was also located in the CEO's office. Might be something worth looking into. If it did as it was supposed to, he was sure he could find some use for it.
