Bartending [Bartender Job][NR]

Ka'lara stepped in through the back entrance of Zero Sum as she so often did: it was a door located right next to the locker rooms and made easy access for the employees who wanted to avoid dealing with the crowds up front.

She entered into the woman's locker room with her book bag in hand and made quick work of changing her clothing: her street clothing and what she wore when on the job were two different things. As she finished getting dressed she stared at herself in the full length mirror: she was wearing a pair of pin striped dress pants that were black in color with purple pin strips, this was worn over comfortable high heeled boots, on her top she wore a deep purple button up top with a vest over top of this that matched her pants; the outfit showing a bit of cleavage: she would have looked in place in a office if it wasn't for the rest of her. Her full body jet black colored tattoo was still very visible, but it added to the over-all vibe of the club outfit she'd chosen so she wasn't worried. Next Ka'lara threw her black hair up into a ponytail, leaving her bangs down. She added her normal black eyeliner and mascara, as well as some lipstick. She was cute, hot, but still appropriately dressed which was all that mattered.

Once fully presentable she stored her street clothes away in her locker and locked it. She then headed outside of the locker room and clocked in before making her way behind the bar, slipping the ear piece from her pocket and into her ear: it had been given to her recently as she had been promoted as head bartender. She double checked to ensure her name tag was pinned to the left side of her chest and then bumped fists with the other bartender she was going to be working with that night.

"Any trouble so far?", Ka'lara asked.

"Nothing too bad. The new guy, that bouncer that Demi hired? He's been keeping the trouble down. People are afraid he's gonna whoop their asses."

"Good to hear.", Ka'lara responded with a grin. She hadn't met the guy yet, but she had heard of the fight he had got into in the parking lot the first day he'd been hired. Letting these thoughts slip from her mind she turned her attention to her work; starting on the first order for drinks thrown her way...

Ka'lara made several drinks as the first orders came in: her fancy tricks with the bottles and pouring techniques causing the usual sounds of amazement from the patrons of the bar and leading to large tips. The drinks she created were a mixture of beautiful colors and seemed to glow against the lights of the bar.

"Hey, get your hands off me!", Ka'lara heard her fellow bartender, Barb, shout. Ka'lara looked over as she caught a bottle she was in the middle of juggling and saw that one of the patrons who was rip roaring drunk had leaned across the bar and had grabbed Barb by the shirt. It was clear the guy was attempting to kiss her - and perhaps get a glance down the front of her v-neck shirt - and Ka'lara wasn't having it. Being head bartender now meant that the girls and guys who worked beneath her were her responsibility, and even if they weren't no one had the right to man handle someone like that.

So, without waiting for one of the bouncers who she could already see moving in to intervene she grabbed the guy the the wrist and squeezed: she wasn't as strong as what she was when she was half angel and half demon but it still hurt and a cracking sound said she had shattered his wrist bone. The guy let out a holler and let go of Barb before stumbling backwards. She pulled Barb to her, giving her a brief hug and rubbing her back to help calm the female down as the bouncers converged on the man and dragged him out the back - it was clear he was about to get a beat down for laying a hand on Barb. Another bouncer appeared, standing behind the bar with his arms folded across his chest and looking intimidating: obviously he was standing by in case the guy had some friends who were going to try and start trouble next...

"Are you alright? Why don't you take the rest of the night off? I'll make it alright with Demi.", Ka'lara said softly as she continued to rub Barbs back in a comforting way. Barb, who was clearly shaken up gave a nod after a few seconds. Seeing that she wasn't going to argue Ka'lara looked up to the bouncer nearby. "Why don't you go with Cooper, alright? He'll make sure no one messes with you." Cooper nodded and very carefully placed one hand on Barb's back to keep her steady as he led her back to the locker room so she could grab her stuff: she knew Cooper was going to end up driving Barb home, and making sure she was in his house before he returned to work because that was just what Cooper did. Working in a popular bar meant this wasn't the first time this sort of a situation had played out.

Ka'lara, now running the bar solo, got back to work as if nothing had ever happened - and in truth the whole situation had lasted less than sixty seconds from the time it had started to the time that the guy was out the back door and into the alley way for his beat down. Ka'lara returned to her fancy juggling and trick-pouring shots, racking in more and more tips as the night continued.

As she worked she saw Cooper come back in later within the evening and give a nod her way: which meant that Barb was home safe and sound and there had been no further incidents. She returned the nod and finished off the night with a bang, working up until it was closing time for the bar. She then took stock of what all product had been used throughout the evening and left it on a note for Demi along with a brief summary of what had happened that evening and how she had sent Barb home for the evening to calm down. She left it in Demi's office, changed back into her street clothing, and left through the back alley...
