It was funny in a way how the world had become so consumed by greed over the millennia that Astalan had spent a prisoner within it. There was one thing that had come into existence and changed the very way of life everywhere, and that thing was money. Sadly, Astalan knew that if he wanted to do anything he would need to make money, and that of course meant getting a job. He often looked for odd jobs that he could do around the town, and on this night, he would be playing bouncer in one of the local bars, a job that suited him just fine. He stood near the door and scanned the crowd for any potential troublemakers, his golden eyes making sure not to miss a detail and when he finally found something that he was looking for he smiled softly and made his way towards his mark.
He could smell the pot from the door and the young man who had brought illegal drugs into his club and had decided that it would be alright to smoke them in there was an idiot. He made his way quickly towards the offender and placed a hand on his shoulder, spinning him around and grabbing the marijuana cigarette out of the young man’s lips before picking him up by the shirt, smushing the pot under his foot, and throwing him out of the bar. The young man tried to protest but Astalan wasn’t having any of that and delivered a fist into his nose, cracking bone and causing a fountain of blood to erupt from his nose. He stumbled away, gripping his face and running down the street as far away from Astalan as he possibly could. Astalan simply shook his head and went back inside waiting for the next big event that would make his night interesting.
Sadly for Astalan it was a fairly slow night at the bar and he watched the crowds as boredom crept over him. This wasn’t the kind of work the Angel was used to doing and he had kind of hoped more excitement would come. He would eventually get to break up a fight between a pair of men who had both had a bit too much to drink and had gotten into a fight over god knows what for seemingly no reason whatsoever. He somewhat relished in the opportunity to step between them and exert a bit of his will, causing them to stop dead in their tracks before one of them finally decided to try to take a swing. Astalan easily raised an arm to block the telegraphed and weak swing and grabbed onto his opponent’s fist, using his enhanced Angel speed and strength to his advantage and swiftly breaking the man’s wrist before spinning on his heel and throwing a punch to incapacitate the second man. The first man screamed in pain and the second was knocked unconscious as Astalan dragged them both outside and called in an ambulance. He smirked and then sat back at his post, standing there for the rest of the boring and uneventful night, happy that the police didn’t have to show up as he didn’t want to have to deal with them at all…
