Name: Enhanced Condition.
Power Rank: RM.
Description: The user is at the peak physical and mental condition of their particular species can achieve without any super- or unnatural methods. This usually entails that they are faster, stronger, more intelligent and overall superior to fellow members of their species without being supernaturally so.
Name: Dual Blade Dance: Drop Shot.
Power Rank: RM.
Description: A maneuver that linearly smashes the blade of the rapier into the ground with such force that the ground around it is sundered (in proportion with the user's strength), knocking surrounding enemies away. This is usually accomplished with some force behind the strike, like dropping from a high place. The second method is hooking one blade inside the hilt of the other sword and slamming it into the ground. A larger destructive area can be accomplished with both swords by dropping from a high place, but this maneuver leaves the user open to counterattack while they unsheathe their swords from the ground.
Name: Rapier Dance: Controstaccato.
Power Rank: RM.
Description: A maneuver that has the user twirl the rapier with force; this has enough strength behind it to parry and (by the nature of Austere) knock away any physical attack made by someone of equal or lower power. Then, using the twirl as a sort of wind-up, the user performs a fusillade of stabs at the off-guard opponent. This entire maneuver can notably be performed with the sword held backhand, allowing one to protect their posterior from assault. Blocking with this maneuver accelerates Austere's Infusion RM ability.
Name: Sword Dance: Banishing Blade.
Power Rank: RM.
Description: A simple three-slash combo with Void using only the tip and the first one-fourth of the blade. They are smooth yet wildly angular and disjointed attacks that each take advantage of the recoil from the previous; thus, they are very difficult to read correctly and defend/dodge. It is best executed at an odd distance, just far enough away to hit; oddly, the slashes are so clean that it takes a second or to to realize one has been struck. Austere can be utilized to further cripple defenses. Attacking with this maneuver accelerates Void's Infusion RM ability.
Name: Rapier Dance: Rapid Tempo Assault.
Power Rank: RM.
Description: A maneuver that takes advantage of the relative lightweightedness of a rapier. Maven can quickly perform shallow tap-like slashes in quick succession, changing the targeted area only slightly between attacks; it is useful for lowering an enemy's guard. These attacks can be used to fend off very fast physical attack combos. This can Infuse the target with Light or Demonic energy.
Name: Sword Dance: Isthmus Buster.
Power Rank: RM.
Description: A single powerful attack that aims to cleave the enemy in two. If the target is Demonic or is aligned with the Light element, Void's intrinsic nature can rip them to shreds. The power of this attack requires a one-post charge.
Name: Dual Blade Dance: Compound Launch.
Power Rank: RM.
Description: A long-distance attack that takes advantage of Austere and Void's special infusions and structures. Maven amplifies the Light and Holy (or the Darkness and Demonic) aspects of his respective swords. The rather close affiliation between the two used alignments and elements will put Austere's ability into a heightened state. This allows Maven to forcibly repel Austere from Void (or vice-versa), turning it into a powerful projectile that can pierce through and even hurl the target a good distance back.
Name: Precognitive Immunity.
Power Rank: PC.
Description: The person in question and the actions they execute do not appear in any future predicted by anyone. Precognition, Prophecy, Accelerated Probability, and other types of future-reading cannot take this person into account.
Name: Twilight Magic.
Power Rank: MP.
Description: This person knows some amateur and moderate-level magic of the Light and Darkness elements. It pales to the abilities of those who specialize in such magic, but serves as a good aid to him. It can be used for all sorts of situations, and makes up for its lack of power with versatility. Shadow and Radiance magics are easily synchronized with the swords Austere and Void (and can even suppress their elements if need be).
- Techniques of Twilight Magic:
Basic Manipulation: Manipulate the simplicities of light and darkness. Create burning light attacks, materialize and manipulate shadow; every aspect of the element is able to be manipulated in whatever shape and for whatever purpose the user desires. Larger and more powerful manipulations need a one-post charge, though, and even these are nothing compared to actual mages' abilities.
Occlusion Whiteout: Purge illusions and other mental influences from everyone in the area with a brilliant flash, if the illusion is at or below the user's Ability Strength. Everyone affected, however, has spotty vision for the next post.
Mirage/Conceal: Create optical illusions and fields of darkness to hide one's movement or actions. While the optical illusions are just that, the darkness can hide someone from every sense (but the darkness itself is rather easy to find). These fabrications are indiscriminate even towards the user.
Sacred Gloaming: For one post, Void emits a strangely calming dark miasma that gives +1 power (and thus damage) against Demonic and Light forces. Cannot be used for 2 posts after it wears off.
Malefic Radiance: For one post, Austere gives off an oddly sinister shroud of light that gives +1 power (and thus damage) against Angelic and Darkness forces. Cannot be used for 2 posts after it wears off.
Name: Force of Law: Reset.
Power Rank: MP|PC
Description: Maven analyzes all the abnormalities or breakages in the rules and laws of the surroundings using Bullet Time and Probability Cognition, and resets the surroundings to comply with said rules. This includes those that he sets, as well as the physical and natural laws. (Elemental manipulations and other similar MP abilities tend to not be affected by this, as usually they do follow the laws of physics and nature, or magic, supernatural laws, etc.) The largest event this ability can reset is the rending of the fabric of time and space. However, this ability is defensive; it will only reset things to how they were before. In addition, this cannot directly heal damage dealt to anyone, due to injury being a part of existing. (Resetting things like dimensional attacks, however, tends to undo the damage to entities as well, due to the dimension's distortion, tearing, or collapsing usually causing the damage.)
Name: Force of Law: Taboo.
Power Rank: PC
Description: A wide-range ability that can only be used once per thread. It allows the user to put a ban on one thing, temporarily, even in a Dead Zone (though it cannot actually ban the Dead Zone). It has to be something that is
done, rather than something that no one actually causes to happen. Whether this is a word, a specific action, or anything else, the user's ability allows them to simply stop it from being spoken, thought, or done. The most common Taboo is "violence".
