The Dirty Jobs building was somewhere that reminded Spook of the Mission Board back home. For the time being, Spook used the roof of the building as a temporary headquarters, along with the large flock of pigeons that for the most part ignored him.
He took a while to sit back and rest, to meditate. More money had to be made, a strange chill was in the air. Spook didn't mind being out in cold conditions, but avoided it when at all possible. So, after a visit inside, Spook's next mission was to rescue a child from the hands of a small time crime boss in the Ghetto, where the mother of the child would be waiting. Spook figured he had his way around memorized, from studying a map, and from running around on the tops of the buildings and saving what he saw to memory.
Traveling to the Ghetto District didn't take very long. After being briefed on the situation by the mother, Spook assured her that he would return with the child. Upon making his way into the territory of the crime boss, and abandoned factory, Spook decided to use infiltration tactics to get inside and find out the condition of the child; thus he played the role of that coming to take the payment to stay out. It allowed Spook access to the boss, causing the thugs guarding the place to step aside and let Spook in. He made mental notes of the warehouse's layout, as to make escape easier.
Eventually Spook would come upon the chamber the man Cage used as his personal abode, sitting on a throne made of live women. He had the child locked in a cage on one side of the room. A very greedy man, Cage commented on how the girl was his trophy that would soon graduate to becoming his personal plaything once she got old enough. He gave Spook the ultimatum of taking 450 credits and leaving, or being killed. Spook accepted the 450, but didn't leave. Sense of Strength, an application of manipulating chi that let Spook know how strong his opponents were, revealed that these weaklings were no stronger than the set of bullies in the alley earlier that morning, hiding behind their primitive "Guns."
A Mossberg 500 kick knocked the fat man Cage off of the throne of women, whom Spook helped up and told to leave. While Spook opened the cage that jailed the little girl, a lot of his thugs entered the room holding baseball bats, metal pipes and knives. Spook formed several hand signs faster than normal eyes could see and caused an equal number of clones to appear and do battle with the thugs, while the girl watched in awe and the thugs looked confused and scared. In the confusion, the actual Spook was able to escape unseen to the roof with the child Amelia. He formed another hand sign and caused all of the clones below to explode. There were several detonations below, each accompanied with a scream. None of the explosions would be fatal; just enough to knock each of them unconscious for several hours and leave first if not second degree burns. It also activated the fire alarm that would bring the fire department and soon after the police...
Spook put the child on his back and quickly jumped the distance of several buildings. She was scared, obvious by the death grip she had on him, but he would never let a child get hurt. He returned to the mother standing on the outskirts and reunited her with her daughter. Spook didn't stick around too long, hearing sirens in the distance, and was gone right as the woman and child both said thank you...
