| The laughter of children drifted away in the breeze as Amaranth watched the small group of children she had been playing with drift away. They had all been playing football and even Amaranth had joined in; though she had to hold back a bit so that she didn't accidentally hurt one of them. But, she had had fun nonetheless. She had been lucky enough to change her skirt for a pair of black pants with a red trim around them just as the skirt had had.
So, after staring after the kids who were currently heading home because the streetlights were soon going to come on, she wandered her way over to a nearby swing and sat down.
She placed her left hand on the left chain and her right hand on the right chain, making sure her cape was behind her and she wasn't sitting on it. She then pushed off of the ground, causing the swing to begin to move. She closed her eyes, smiling, as she began to pump her legs in and out, forcing herself higher and higher; thankfully it was a very very tall swing, so she didn't have to worry about over-doing it and flipping over the bars.

| He remembered this area well. A very long time ago, this park was the site of the village Chief's hut. He was a good man who didn't become afraid of Darkman after finding out what he was. Such caused the Chief just to embrace and welcome him more into the small village that was here so long ago. Darkman would often come here to remember, to reminisce. He would sit on a bench in the back of the park, behind the swings, smoking a cigarette, or something a little stronger. Old man Giles, who lived nearby, perhaps one of the oldest citizens in Edge City, would sometimes come out to sit with Darkman to talk to him, not knowing who he really was, but fascinated because of Darkman's extensive knowledge. He often called Darkman "an old man in young'un's flesh" since he seemed to know so much to look so young. This evening though, he seemed to be watching the little girl on the swings. A man dressed in black sitting in the back of a children's park watching a little girl? That seemed....wrong. Darkman was related to this little girl though, and since he very rarely showed himself in public anymore, no one truly knew what he looked like, not even the recent editions to his family. His camouflage was activated, so he was sure Amaranth would just think of him as just another human. "Getting kinda dark," he said to her with sort of a grin, blowing smoke from his lungs. Somewhat like Alec, Darkman was never able to enjoy the intoxicating effects of such get-highs as liquor, marijuana, or even the nicotine buzz from cigarettes because if his automatic healing ability, but he would often try to experience it, if only for a moment. "Shouldn't you be running along home? Your parents might be worried about you..."Darkman was full aware of his Great Grand Daughter's Boss status, and of the island she owned near Japan. Everything he said was all part of the game he played... - Ability in play:
Camouflage: Around humans and other species that don't know and can sense what he truly is, he has the ability to blend with the world to seem like "just another human." This ability is mostly used when infiltrating an enemy stronghold, when getting close to a high profile target, or when he just doesn't want anyone around to know who or what he really is. Becoming stressed or being attacked/attacking someone causes this ability to wear off instantly.

| Amaranth blinked at the words spoken from behind her as her eyelids fluttered open. She'd known someone was there, but they registered as nothing more than human from her senses; and well, humans weren't that much of a threat to her. Not that she had let her guard down, even while she had been swinging.
She tilted her head back so that she could see the man sitting on the bench behind her. "Streetlights aren't on, yet.", she said simply. She had been about to add in that being afraid of the dark and the things that go bump in the night was silly, but figured that would probably raise up a bunch of questions she didn't exactly want to answer.
She kept staring at him as the swing moved, causing him to go in and out of sight as the swing went from the front to the back. She was waiting for him to say something else, while also wondering why he was sitting in the park in the first place, at least this part.

| Darkman grinned. He'd said nothing to his Great Grand Daughter before today, yet he'd kept an eye on her, as well as Alec and Destiny, and everyone else who'd been in and out of his tower recently. He could easily become involved in the drama that seemed to be going on, but Darkman was amused by just sitting back and watching from the sidelines as a spectator. For now he just wanted to watch, but would step in to help should things get too hectic.
Darkman flicked ashes from his cigarette. "Oh, i'm sorry," he said. "...Couldn't help but notice you playing football with those other kids. Little girls don't often get involved in rough and tumble sports like that, you must be pretty tough." He took another drag from the cancer stick. "...Also, I could be wrong, but to me it looked like you were trying to hold back against those other kids too. There's more to you than meets the eye, yes?... Haha, sorry if i'm getting too personal, you don't even know me. Don't answer that if you don't want."
Of course Darkman already knew she was the child of Destiny and Ghost, so of course she was no ordinary child. Pretending not to know was the fun of it though.

| Huh, so he'd been there that long? Amaranth had been so involved in the game, having fun, and worrying about possibly breaking someone if she wasn't careful that she hadn't even noticed how long he had actually been there. She thought about how to respond for a moment as her feet lowered to the ground, dragging along it to build up enough force to stop the swing from moving.
With the swing still she turned around, the chain crossing as she turned to face the man once more. She shrugged lightly before speaking, "I like football... and I dunno, maybe I was just worried I'd hurt 'em or something.", she said honestly enough, grinning, and avoiding the more than meets the eye question.

| She wasn't letting on to what she really was, and that was good. Darkman was proud of her, and wasn't going to press the issue any further. At such a young age she had so much control of all of that power. Darkman himself never mastered using his own powers until he was a grown man, and Alec until he was a teenager. The new generation was something else...
"A girl that likes football, that's a new one, to me at least," said Darkman. "Or maybe it's because i've been 'tucked away in my damn cave for too long,' heh, that's how the kid says it anyways..." It was true that Darkman was a little absent minded and didn't consider Alec much, but he was confident that Alec could take care of the city, the family, and himself, having watched him fight in a war that raged on for nearly 10 years, only to come out victorious in the end.
"You seem like a smart and strong little girl. Your parents must be really proud of you." Darkman flicked ashes. "You came out of that big building surrounded by all of those other buildings downtown, right? Darkman Tower it's called? Tell me, have you ever met that guy? I know some of the oldest people that have lived here since the city first started growing to be as big as it is now, and they tell me they've never seen the guy. What's he like, what can you tell me about him? Anything?"
This would be interesting to hear, and he waited for her answer with a grin, pushing his trademark sunglasses back to his eyes...

| A soft giggle slipped out at his 'tucked away in my damn cave for too long,' comment. Whoever this guy was, Amaranth thought he was pretty silly. She lightly kicked the toe of her sneakers off the ground, causing the still twisted swing to move slightly. "Football's fun. It's better than playing with dolls.", her nose wrinkled as she made her comment, as if the thought of playing with dolls was something she would rather avoid.
Her head tilted a bit though as he spoke again, asking about the building she had come out of. That peeked her interest more; as she wondered exactly how he knew that. She blinked, pondering how to answer him. "Mmhmm. That's my great grandad's building. I've never met him before though, not that I can remember anyway." Her head tilted again, as she continued to stare at him. "How'd you know I came out of that building, though?"

| "Kinda hard not to notice a girl with a halo wearing a red cape flying around," Answered Darkman with a grin, pointing above his own head, though Darkman had no halo for some reason, even though he too was part Angel. Perhaps it was because of the Demon blood that also flowed through his veins. He chuckled some at the thought of having a tomboy for a Great Grand Daughter, listening to her say how she didn't like dolls and at the face she made.
It was just a tad disappointing that she had no idea what he looked like, yet he grinned anyway. Darkman wondered if Alec or Destiny had ever mentioned him to her, since there were no pictures of him anywhere."You know, any ordinary kid would have run away by now thinking I was some kind of pedophile - kiddie raper if you don't know what that means - which i'm not of course, but you have to be one brave kid. Your parents ever tell you not to talk to strangers?"
Darkman didn't want to stay here too long. He enjoyed the time he was spending with the new edition to the family, but he didn't want people to start catching on to who he really was. He wasn't going to leave here without giving Amaranth something for being so nice and talking to him, and began to think of what he could give her.

| Amaranth giggled. "I guess so... " She glanced up to the halo above her head, which was glowing faintly, but beginning to glow more the darker it got. She shrugged lightly and turned her attention back to the man.
"My mom might have mentioned something like that... a long time ago." She reached up, scratching her head as she thought back. Her mom had told her a lot of things, but she was going to need a filing cabinet for a brain to be able to remember all of them. She lowered her hand, shrugging again. "But, I could say the same thing to you, about being brave... most people would run away seeing me flying around like I have been..."

| "Ba hahahaha. I've seen many things far scarier than a little girl flying around, trust me," Darkman responded, taking one final drag of the cigarette before flicking the butt of it off in some random direction, the smoke from it leaving a trail in the air as it sailed off to it's final destination. Darkman stood up to his menacing height of 7 feet to stretch, producing several random popping sounds from random joints. "I think I should be going. Some guy dressed in black looking like me, back here in this park while it's getting dark talking to a little girl is gonna attract the wrong kind of attention..." Darkman put a hand to his chin and thought some, before reaching inside of his trench to pull from it a glowing sphere about the size of a coconut. The sphere had many powers inside of it, constantly moving and changing, and one could easily lose track of time staring at it. "I haven't had this long of a conversation with anyone in a long, long time..." Darkman said, because it was the truth. He was never around anyone else anymore besides a matter of moments. "So I want to give you something. You don't have to take it if you don't want to, but i'd be honored if you did. It won't hurt you at all. If it does, you can beat me up."Darkman intended on giving his Great Grand Daughter a new ability, the same one he'd given to her father back in the days of Murder INC, before she'd been born. He put the orb into her little hands, and it would feel cool to the touch. "When you break this open, you'll see what I mean. It will save your life in the right situation. I hope it helps you out in the long run..."Grinning at his Great Grand Daughter once more, Darkman began to walk away. He began to whistle a peculiar tune. This tune wasn't heard on any radio station or any video channel. It was a custom tune that he'd heard long before this gigantic city was even thought about; a tune that someone once close to Darkman used to sing to Alec when he'd have nightmares of falling out of the sky. Alec himself would often whistle this tune, and if Amaranth had ever heard it, and she was as smart as Darkman thought she was, sooner or later she would put 2 and 2 together and figure out who he was... - Song:
- Ability Darkman Used:
Name: Ability Manipulation Power Rank: PC Description: Darkman has the ability to alter the supernatural energies in all beings, thus allowing every variation of manipulative abilities. Users of this ability may make new (even highly advanced) abilities to themselves or to others, erase powers in others or change an already existing ability into another. Even at a low level, it is still a tremendously powerful ability.
- Ability Darkman Gave:
Name: The Copy Eye Power Rank: MP/PC Description: This ability allows Amaranth to copy and use any technique that is performed where she can see it. Amaranth can perfectly mimic any technique and even create her own variations of them after a period of practice. (Copied abilities can be used for the remainder of that thread, or permanently added to Amaranth's ability list at her choosing)

| Amaranth took the sphere and looked it over curiously, noting how it felt cool to the touch. She blinked at it, and then brought her head back up, watching the man walk away and begin to whistle. She found herself listening carefully, her gaze going back to the sphere as she did so. It sounded familiar, and she found herself thinking back.. trying to figure out where she had heard it from... while also attempting to memorize the tune.
She looked up suddenly, looking in the direction he had walked in. "Thank you...", she called out. She looked back to the sphere, breaking the thing open...
The streetlights began to flicker on, one after the other, as it got dark enough for the sensors to trigger and the lights to come to life. But, she didn't budge from her swing...

| Darkman looked back, grinning, waving his left arm. His trench coat billowed in the winds that began to blow, and he slid his hands into either pocket while walking out of the playground and blending into the normal flow of people walking; citizens on their way home from another long day of work...
"I'll be watching," he said, but to her, his voice would sound as if he were still sitting behind her on that bench to the rear of the swing set. "Take care of yourself, Amaranth..."
He disappeared into the crowd, with the tune he whistled still being able to be heard...

| Earlier today he had woken up, even though he hadn't wanted to. He had woken up because of Himitsu's pain. He was a creature of magic, and through his magical contract with Himitsu, he was bound to her emotions and physical status. He felt all of it. It didn't physically hurt him per say, it was more of a unsettlingly uncomfortable headache that he had to experience. Her emotions held sway over him as well. He didn't need any more of the crushingly hopeless depression to deal with. He already had enough in his skull to deal with. At least Himitsu still had a will to survive, at least she wanted to wake up each day. His desire to live had disappeared, vanishing with the other half of his soul. His late Hana, now dead for longer than he wanted to think, and with her his child had left the world as well. He was lonely and sad. No longer did he see how brightly green the grass grew in spring, how perfect the wind felt nor how sweet water tasted. To him? Everything was simply a shade of grey. Some things were simply a bit lighter than others, which gave his near monotone world a few shades to cope. Currently Himitsu's emotions were punching him in the chest. She was remembering Satoshi; the most traumatic day of her life, her experience of losing someone close to her in a violent fashion. Re was forced via his magic contract to try to help her in anyway he could, thus his heightened emotional and mental connection with her. If he wasn't contracted to her? He would never think twice about just walking away from her. He did find Himitsu to be an interesting human though. In the fourteen years he had been contracted to her he had watched her grow from a small innocent and kind hearted child, to a deathly focused trainee, to a cold blooded killer, to a wise leader then to a sickened dying woman. Yet even in the face of death she spat, hissing and fighting, clawing at death's cold hands and gouging out it's strangely comforting stare. Himitsu at times had little fits of insanity, fits of blood lust if you will, and during these bouts she cackled, calling herself a god. Somewhere deep inside of herself she had convinced herself that she was a divine being, and that her body was dying because it couldn't possibly contain her power any more. She was convinced that the sickness she had was some sort of purifying process. Yes. Out of all the humans he had slain, out of all the humans that he had to interact with? She was fairly interesting. He had figured her out, but most of the time he couldn't jump to the same answers and strategies that she did. Her plans were a puzzle to him, and he thoroughly enjoyed puzzled. Currently he was taking a walk through Edge City's park, or at least, one of the parks. He was trying to soothe the mental dishevelment that Himitsu's nostalgia had brought upon him. The park was nice, a few trees and remains of nature still standing between the black-tar-stone and hard foot-walk that the city's inhabitants had placed there. There was a clump of glass here, one over there... Cities like this depressed him even more though... He was creature that was harmonious with nature. Seeing nature cut down and smothered bothered him. Maybe it was just the fact that the earth felt more dead in the grey-stone black-tar-stone cities, maybe it was because he missed the connection he had with the earth's life force. He wasn't sure but he was lost in thought when he felt two energy sources. He had never meet either being and thus kept his distance. He didn't think that he looked all that much imposing. He was in his humanoid form, dressed in his normal baggy pants and casual kimono top. The top was green with long sleeves, his pants were black. As for footwear, his was primarily barefoot, wearing black stirrup styled leg warmers that lacked heels and toes, only wrapping over the arch of his foot. On his hands he wore black finger and thumb-less gloves. The only thing that might be intimidating about his was that he stood at six foot six and was built like a tree. He had a strong and well muscled body. Sometimes that intimidated people, and he had learned that the hard way. It wouldn't be the first time someone called him 'big and scary looking'. Yes he did have extremely feral features, but he didn't understand why people called him frightening. He felt one of the people's energy signatures fade as they left. Re had been walking about the entire time, and now that he didn't have to fear interrupting a conversation or something of another he could go sit on the bench and get some peace. Walking up to said bench he took a seat. There was a little red headed girl, her hair was the same crimson as the cape she sported. He sat there on the bench in silence, not intending to interrupt the younger girl in whatever she was doing. | |

| Amaranth had gasped when the male's voice reached her ears; him speaking her own name and it sounding as if he were still on the bench behind the swing set. It was then, as she felt the new ability come alive in her that he had given her, just as all of rest of the things she could do felt like, that she realized who exactly that man had been. A small smile spread across her face, and then it grew, until she was almost grinning. That had been her great grandfather; Darkman himself. It explained the questions after all that he had asked her. She laughed out loud at how silly she felt that it had taken her that long to figure out.
Just as she was about to allow the chain to uncross from the way it was she noticed that a new male had seated himself on the bench. Amaranth lifted her feet up and off of the ground slightly, allowing the swing to untwist itself, causing her to spin in a circle several times until the swing came to a rest and simply swayed from side to side.
There were an awful lot of people showing up at the park today, and the darker it got the more people seemed to show up. She was beginning to think that maybe it was time to take off when she reached out one final time with her senses. It was almost immediate, like a little red light going off in her head, she knew humans... she dealt with them every single day. She knew how they smelled, how they thought. How they felt to her super sensitive senses. This man? Wasn't human. He might have looked it, but he wasn't.
She twisted the swing around again while using her hands to keep the chain from crossing and trapping her in the swing, allowing herself to remain facing the new arrival, brow furrowing slightly as her halo glowed brighter above her head. "What... are you?", she asked, her voice was serious as it was going to get, and a frown forming on her face.

| He glanced at the girl as the swing untwisted itself. She spun around and around before just swinging gently from side to side. He felt her conscious brush against his for the briefest of seconds before retracting back quickly, her conscious a startled animal withdrawing in fear and surprise of the unknown.
Then, with a frown on her face, she asked him a very simple yet difficult question. "What are you?"
What was he? Well... He was first a dragon, then underneath that, he was a male, then a conscious higher life form, beneath that he was a source of life and under all of that he was a child of light, born from light's first child.
But... how do you define life? Who was to say that he wasn't in a dream, that this girl asking him what he was wasn't just a dream spirit, a figment of his imagination? Dreams and thoughts can feel 'real'... But... What was reality? Reality was only as one perceived it, and who's perception was correct? What was correct but a certain standard set by another person? What is a person? A person could be life, but they could be imaginary... What if this entire universe was just his dream? What if he was only thinking himself to be there? You could only know for certain that you truly existed if someone outside of you told you that you physically existed, but yet that person outside of you could just be some subconscious entity that you conjured up to trick yourself into the false existence, who was to say that the other person was real but another person who could be yet another figment... A lie conjured up to comfort the distorted mind.
"I am... That I am. I exist because I perceive it. But I believe you were more curious to what I am genetically. To answer that question, I am a dragon."

| Amaranth blinked once, twice, and then a third time. A dragon... She had never met a dragon before. Though, he looked human at the moment. She figured that was nothing more than some sort of disguise. A way of keeping it a secret. A way of not scaring the holy hell out of everything and anything around. But, Amaranth wasn't scared; she'd seen Demitria's giant curse of a beast in action - that was scary, that ate you without caring who you were. This? This looked like a man who was resting from a walk. Nothing scary. Nothing dangerous.
But, that brought on another range of questions through her mind and her frown remained in place for the moment. "So... what is a dragon doing in a city like this? Do you live here?" She had always heard that dragons were huge, extremely so. So what was a dragon doing in a cramped city like this? Surely being trapped in his human form all the time couldn't be very comfortable, and she didn't see any building being large enough to house a dragon comfortably - except maybe Darkman Tower, and she was pretty sure she would have noticed a dragon living there by now.
She glanced up at the darkened sky, the streetlights were all on. She knew she should be going; should be heading home because it was only going to get darker, and possibly more dangerous the later she stayed out. But, she wanted her questions answered first.

| He couldn't help but smile slightly at the girl. Why was he here? Because he was magically contracted to serve Himitsu. Himitsu couldn't fly, and he couldn't be so far away from her voluntarily to begin with. Folding his hands together, he rested his elbows on his lap. He blinked a slanted pine green eye at her.
"I'm here because I'm a guardian. There is no building here big enough for me to be comfortable as a dragon, we grow with age and I am rather old by the two-legged-no-horn's standards. To be honest, if I wasn't contracted I wouldn't be anywhere near the two-leg cities, using this form would become a scarce rarity to see. No... I do not live here."
He paused for a second, as if in thought, before looking at the girl. He had already noted her halo and how her energy felt. "You're an angel, as I can see, your energy feels pure, like light. So, the myth about angels dressing in all white and having blue eyes and white hair is false. I've never met an angel before, so forgive me if I sound like I'm stereotyping."

| Niala had been walking along when the sound of voices reached her over sensitive ears. She didn't mean to listen in, she had enough thoughts going off in her head to worry about, she didn't need to know about anyone else's. But, one of those voices sounded young, very young. While the other sounded much older. That peeked her interest a bit; she had no idea what sort of child would be out in the middle of a park with it as dark as it was. It wasn't safe.
Niala pulled her hoodie tighter around her, hands sinking into her pockets even though she now wore black gloves over them. It wasn't that it was cold, she just knew parks were very busy places, and the last thing she wanted was to pick up on a thousand and one mental impressions because she accidentally brushed her hand up against something she shouldn't have.
She stepped off of the path, walking slowly over to the pair and sitting herself down on a swing nearby. She kicked lightly off of the ground, the pendant Alec Kane had given her glinting in the light of the nearby lamp post as it sways from her neck. Long blackish brown hair swayed in the wind as the swing began to move. She didn't say anything, not at first. Catching a bit more of the conversation. She knew Angels existed, had met one. She knew a manner of other creatures existed too, but a giant lizard? Odd.
".... A giant lizard in a city, that's a new one...."
She had muttered the words out loud, not that she had meant to of course. But, sometimes when you thought over something enough it just ended up coming out whether you meant for it to or not. She had a fair bit of height by this point, with her swinging, legs pumping in and out to get her higher.

| "Nope. My red hairs natural.", she said with a giggle. "And I've yet to come across an Angel who wears all white... I dunno, maybe they do in Heaven, but I've never been there. I was born here." She shrugged lightly.
Amaranth glanced over to the female as she arrived; she looked young, but not as young as herself. Still probably a kid though. Her silvery gaze locked onto the pendant she wore around her neck - she worked for her grandfather, that was interesting. Then she heard the female call him a giant lizard and she blinked, biting her bottom lip. She knew, even at her young age, that most races were very prideful, and hated being called anything but their preferred term; so she found herself wondering exactly how this man was going to take to being called a giant lizard.
She flicked her gaze between the pair, eyebrows raising as she waited for some sort of reaction. Meanwhile she sent her senses out again, attempting to figure out what the female swinging nearby herself was; she looked human as well, but... something else, something far different.

| "Ah... I didn't know angels could be born per say. I thought they were just created without needing male-female interaction." He said in a soft voice. He felt some other person's energy come into his sensory range, the energy of her conscious brushing against his. He watched as she pulled her hoodie over her body more. She had her hands in her pockets, it wasn't that cold outside, well... not to him at least. He pumped heat off like furnace most of the time, so cold didn't quiet bother him.
The new comer took a seat at a swing, pushing herself. Her lips moved and Re'yoak heard exactly what she said. ".... A giant lizard in a city, that's a new one...."
A giant lizard? A giant lizard? Lizard? Lizard?! He was no lizard! He was a full blooded dragon, he had the memories to prove that he was born dragon, the scales, the mental, magical and physical prowess....
He was no lowly lizard. Ignorant twiddling two-legged buffoon! Dirty sireless insulting scum dragged from the most broken and retched of holes! How dare she? How dare she belittle him in such a way?! How dare she insult his family by stating that they were of such a dis-evolutionized fuddling blood to down breed into lizards! Lizards had no magic! Lizards were simple minded creatures that sought to imitate his race! He was no lizard-blooded ill-begotten offspring! To call a dragon a lizard was of the greatest offence. It meant many things all at once.
To call a dragon a lizard was implying that they were weak, small, unintimidating, and laughable, but it also insinuated that their lineage was foul, mixed and lowly.
To call a dragon a lizard or snake was of a great offence, and this new comer was haughty and arrogant enough to insult him like that? He hoped that her arrogance was only dark humour for her sake. His already slitted eyes narrowed even further, tilted brows coming together and giving him a highly feral look. He was upset to say the understated least.
"I hope that you were only practising dark humour child, for you've just insulted me in the most horrific of ways."

| Niala took her time after what little words she had said to take in Amaranth's appearance, including the halo above her head. She found herself wondering if the female was related in any way to the Boss when the dragon male spoke again. She blinked, reverting her gaze back to him.
His words and facial features said he was angry, but she couldn't guess why. Was it something she had said? She thought back to her words that had slipped out and realized that there was something she had left, something that perhaps had offended him greatly enough to have the reaction he was having now. She forgot he could fly. She smiled politely enough and then spoke again.
"Sorry... I meant to say flying lizard. My mistake."
She then glanced back to Amaranth and smiled; figuring she'd do well to make a new friend. "I'm Niala by the way. Niala Creed."

| Male to female interaction... what was he talking about? She tilted her head, feeling suddenly very confused. 'I wonder if this has anything to do with those birds and bees I heard my mother talking about one day to Demi...', she thought to herself, though those birds and bees had confused her as well, as she didn't understand what they had to do with anything, either. Another frown slipped across her face as she took her time to ponder this. However, her pondering didn't last long at all because new words filled her ears, causing her to look up. Her senses were going nuts, she could feel the man's anger so well that it could have been her own; but that was one of her abilities, and she'd have to live with it.
She turned her silvery gaze to the young female and then back to the man. Back and forth her gaze flickered for a moment, eyebrows raising as she stayed silent for a moment and listened to the conversation. She heard the man get called a flying lizard and then she introduced herself as Niala. Amaranth smiled, while keeping the corner of her eye on the man. "I'm Amaranth Kane.", she said softly in response.
She then turned her gaze back to the man, wondering why exactly he was so angry and beginning to think that perhaps it was about time for her to be heading home; before she got into trouble. But, she wasn't going to leave and leave Niala here, not with the man looking as angry as he was at the moment.

| A hiss escaped his mouth, but aside from that he didn't move. Stupid two-legged-no-horned offspring. She was too young to know how badly she was offending him. Hell, the girl had probably never met a dragon in her life, and with good reason. Dragons had a huge amount of contempt for the two-legged races, and therefore tended to stay as far away from any humanoid civilizations as physically possible. The only reason he was here in the city was because he was contracted to obey and serve Himitsu. She had ordered him not to fight unless directly and aggressively provoked with life threatening force...
Which meant that he couldn't maul the child like he wanted to. All he could do was sit there and take the insults like a good little trained bitch. Oh, he was livid on the inside, but he physically could not bring himself to harm the child. All because of Himitsu's orders.
And Himitsu was moving towards them rather fast. Due to the contract they could communicate mentally, they felt each other's emotions and could hear each other's thoughts to an extent. She could feel his anger and knew exactly what was going on. She was coming to get him and leave the city before he hurt himself by violating an order. All he had to do was sit there and resist the urge to maul a child for her naive nature. He had no issues eating, killing or otherwise harming a humanoid of any age or gender. They had had no qualms in killing his mate and unborn child. No qualms at all; so, why should he show mercy towards their children that were ignorant to insult him?
He snorted once before looking away from the girl. "Himitsu will be here soon enough." He said softly in his deep voice, more of a spoken side thought.

| She had felt Re's anger growing, steadily rising to an unneeded level. She could read the angry thoughts running through his head. A raging dragon was not needed or desired. Especially when she had just finished seeing Alec Kane for unprovoked murder. On her left hip, Blasphemy and Ingrid hung; from her easy to access waist belt Callous was sheathed in it's holsters.
She didn't have to be in earshot of Re to hear him. He was magically contracted to her. She could summon him at will and communicate with him telepathically.
But the contract also limited Re's ability to do things. If she said don't do it? He physically couldn't do it. Yes, it was a challenge for him at times, if she said 'don't fight' he couldn't, even if he was being attacked, and it could rip him apart. The desire to protect himself and the forced magical desire to obey Himitsu's orders.
For some reason she disliked paining him. She was somewhat fond of Re, he was her guardian after all, but their relationship was just. Master and servant. Nothing really beyond that. They were in each other's heads a lot, but Himitsu just didn't view him in a romantic light, just as Re wasn't attracted to Himi in a sexual manner.
She had arrived at the park. She was ready to go before she got there. She was not going to deal with Re mauling or eating some person in a foreign city. Not today. Not ever. He could go hunt in the mountains for a week when they returned to Shinkai. Hell, he could use some of the inmates(or her family) as punching bags and chew toys when they got back if he wanted to.
Re was sitting there on the bench, glaring at one of two girls, one she had previously met in her political meeting with Alec Kane. The girl in red... She was his grand daughter? It was as much as Himi drew from the name "grand baby" that he had called her in the office. They didn't look all that much related.
But who Amaranth was related to by blood mattered little to Himitsu as she stepped up next to Re. She knew exactly who was offending him. A little young girl... She looked too naive to understand how she was offending Ray. So, she was going to cut the girl some slack. She put her left hand on Re's left shoulder. "Girl, you don't understand how you're insulting Re'yoak. Calling a dragon a lizard or snake is insinuating that they are of dirty blood, and that they are weak, small and unable to use magic. It's of the greatest offence, if you understand. So, please, I must ask for you to cease in calling my guardian a lizard or snake or any type of lesser reptile."
Turning to Re'yoak she said, "Come on, let's get out of here. I don't need something irreversible and horrifically bad happening. Not while in Alec Kane's city. We don't need another war."
With that she turned, taking Re's hand and gently tugging, silently saying 'get your ass up and let's go.'

| Amaranth sighed softly as Himitsu arrived. Her grandfather had specifically told her that she wasn't allowed to be near Himitsu, and seeing that the dragon obviously belonged to her, she could only assume that that order went to the dragon as well. With a frown she stood up, glancing over to Niala. She knew she should probably be heading home anyway, so she didn't get into trouble for being out in the city past the streetlights coming on.
"Hey, I have to get back to my grandad's tower, you're staying there too, right? Why don't you come back with me?"
Telepathically she sent to the female, "I'm not allowed around this woman, my grandad said so. Plus, the streetlights are on. I really don't want to leave you here by yourself against odds that aren't in your favor. Maybe we can go back and play a game or something? They're really not worth messing with."
She could only hope that as she turned away from the swing set and walked off that the female would join her. But, she wouldn't order her to, that wasn't her place. All she could do was offer the extended hand for the female to take.
Over her shoulder, just as she was about to disappear around the bushes she called out, "Perhaps it would be best if you two left and went back to your city. So that episodes like this don't keep happening... thoughts are like open books to a lot of people, as are threatening emotions." It was as much of a warning and heads up to get out while they could that she could or would offer them; they didn't have to take it, but she wasn't going to be cleaning up the body parts, guts, and limbs scattered everywhere when crap finally hit the fan.
