Name: Malkav The Second Age: ???? - Present Day Birthdate: Unavailable Gender: Male Sexuality: Straight Race: Vampire Rank: Citizen Location: Velo City Appearance: Height: 7 Feet, 0 Inches Weight: 220 Pounds Skin Color: White Eye Color: Purple Hair Color/Length: Blond / Shoulders with a longer ponytail in the back Special Characteristics: - Transcendent Vampire:
Name: Transcendant Vampire Physiology Type: Unique - Personal Description: The user with this ability either is or can transform into a Transcendent Vampire: a powerful vampiric being who has literally ascended to true godhood either through powerful magical feats or by divine intervention.
In various forms of traditional folklore, vampires are often depicted as demonic beings who must feast on the blood of the living to survive and possess vulnerabilities to various things such as sunlight, garlic, holy relics, etc. However, Transcendent Vampires are arguably completely the opposite. Transcendent Vampires are often depicted as supernaturally attractive and possess an appearence identical to the one that they had in their previous life. They also appear to have an inherently mezmerizing aura to their presence. Many mortals or lesser beings may often feel an obsessive desire to be around the vampire in question or even follow and carry out their commands as mindless slaves.
Another thing that makes Transcendent Vampires unique is that despite them appearing to be related to things such as dark magic or inherently evil aspects, they are actually in fact shown to be often associated with or even assisting a higher power. In fact, most Transcendent Vampires are sometimes seen preaching or more or less speaking of the relationship they have with the supreme being they may or may not have worshiped during their mortal lifetime.
Overall, Transcendent Vampires are the supreme paragons of the species. They are responsible for maintaining the natural balance between vampires, humans, as well as other monsters. Due to the nature of their powers, they are capable of increasing their already amazing powers even further by absorbing various forms of energy. The user is thus capable of challenging most beings in existence. - Malkavian Traits:
Name: Malkavians/Madness Network Type: Personal/Clan Description: Even other Damned fear the Malkavians. The cursed blood of their clan has polluted their minds, with the result that ever last Malkavian across the world is incurably insane. What's worse, a Malkavian's madness can take nearly any form, from overpower homicidal tendencies to near-catonia.In many cases, there's no way to tell a Malkavian apart from the "sane" members of other clans. Those few who psychoses are immediately obvious are among the most terrifying vampires to stalk the streets. For as long as even the eldest Cainites can remember, the Malkavians have always stirred Kindred society with their passage. Although the clan has instigated no great wars nor toppled mortal governments, the very presence of a Malkavian works a subtle change on a city. Chaos nips at the Lunatics' heels, and those who associate with even the most well-meaning Malkavian often find their lives or unlives altered by the Cainite's madness. Recently, the Malkavians executed their grandest "prank" of all. None can say whether it was worked in a great Malkavian Parliament held somewhere in an isolated European village, or on a bleak and forgotten moor somewhere far from the cities. A few stories speak of a epidemic of contagious dementia exploding among those of Malkav's blood. Whatever the cause, Malkavians across the world have begun displaying a new, dangerous edge to their madness, accompanied by bizarre events in Kindred cities around the world. A longstanding Malkavian conceit holds the Jyhad to be a joke instigated by the founder of the clan; some Kindred wonder if, in fact, Malkavians have played the joke on them all along. None can say what exactly makes the Lunatics so dangerous. Certainly their madness often frees them from fear or pain or Final Death. More than a few demonstrate horrifying murderous urges or a complete lack of emotion, including compassion. But most convincingly, the Malkavians are free from the confines of rationality and may do whatever they like - and this freedom is coupled with an uncanny insight, a strange wisdom that cannot be perceived by the sane. The Malkavians possess a dark intellect that is often - and increasingly - set to frightening purposes. Nickname: Lunatics Sect: They have an understanding with the Camarilla. They also populate the Sabbat in lesser numbers. If and when Gehenna occurs nobody can say for sure where the Malkavians will stand. Haven: The Lunatics by and large take whatever shelter they like, although more than a few find aging hospitals and poorly funded asylums to their taste. Many seem to enjoy the company of desperate mortals, and prefer slums and institutions to more secluded havens. MMN:The Malkavian Madness Network is the magical network of insanity by which all members of the Malkavian Clan are interconnected. This network transcends time and space, allowing visions to come to Malkavians from anytime and anywhere. Clan Disciplines: Auspex, Dementation, Obsfucate.
- Complete Volition:
Name: Complete Volition. Power Rank: MP / PC Description: The complete inability to be affected by others' powers that would affect the Free Agent in a way other than either directly attacking them, emotion manipulation, or using the environment to deal damage. This entails having a small space around the individual and their own self anchored to the dimension and reality they are in, unable to be warped away or otherwise manipulated without their permission (dimensional manipulation will penetrate this after a small while). This person cannot be controlled without their permission (but can have their emotions and such manipulated). All of these are at the person's will, and they can allow such abilities they would be immune to, to work on them. General Description: Malkav's appearance changes sometimes yearly, monthly, weekly, daily, or even by the minute. He precieves himself as being what he believes his target will fear the most. If that be a man in a suit then so be it, or the grueling leather faced monster under the bed with fangs a foot long. If it strikes fear then it is needed. On what could be considered a normal occasion however, or his average appearance, he is a white man with blond hair the front of which is cut to his shoulders while the back is longer and kept back in a ponytail tied off with a piece of string. Eyes are a constant purple or violet in color. Cheek bones are prominent as is his brow; causing shadows to forever cover his features and give him a mask of perpetual evil. His clothing choices tend to be a mix between modern and old world; jeans and a t-shirt one day to a toga the next. About You: History: The Malkavian Antediluvian is known only through myth and impressions left upon his mad clan. Some say that he wasn't even human, instead claiming he was an Angel or a descendant of Lilith. The only thing the stories share is that one way or another he was touched by an incurable madness, but that his dementia allowed him to look past the veil of reality and perceive truths hidden to the eyes of others. While accounts disagree on whether the Malkavian Antediluvian was killed, a somewhat common belief among Malkavians is that whether his body has been destroyed or not, their progenitor continues to exist as the Madness Network. It should be noted that while the Malkavian Antediluvian is almost universally referred to as Malkav, this is just an epithet. In his English translation of the Book of Nod, the Noddist Aristotle deLaurent resorted to using the name "Malkav" because he was unable to find any more accurate name, although he admitted this was "sloppy scholarship" (he further confessed to apprehension regarding the true names of Antediluvians, since after learning the true name of the Brujah clan founder he woke the following evening with his own name carved into his forearm.) The name Malkav was already in common use during the Dark Ages. Regardless, the Antediluvian's real name has probably been covered up and lost to history. Malkav is depicted as trying to surpass the limitations of immutable reality and return it to a state of infinite possibilities. This goes along with that book's emphasis on the Malkavians as forces of revolution and dynamism, as well as their association with fae. According to the tale, Caine himself was attempting to teach his descendants to break free of Creation's artificial barriers, and it was Malkav who came closest to achieving this enlightenment. To that end he destroyed his own ability to filter and interpret the world around him, driving him mad but bringing him closer to seeing the hidden possibilities inherent in the universe. His clan shares in Malkav's burden so that through them the Antediluvian can continue to refine his insights and continue to break through more barriers. As Revised Edition severed the tie between the Malkavians and fae, Malkav's nature and intentions became much less understood. Clanbook: Malkavian Revised suggests that even before the Embrace Malkav was special, possibly an angel, messenger, or great prophet. He is also alternatively called brother to Saulot and Set (though perhaps allegorically), or the twin of Arikel. Accounts differ over which of the Second Generation was his sire, as they also disagree on how Malkav was driven insane. The traditional tale is that the Antediluvian was cursed with madness by Caine, either because of some slight or because turned his companions in the Second City against each other by giving them false visions. Another story says that Lilith singled him out for punishment and told him a secret that shattered his mind. A third suggests that Malkav drank deep of the blood of the Second Generation and was overwhelmed by its power, his mind becoming open to greater truths of the universe and in the process losing his grip on reality. Whatever prophetic abilities he may have had beforehand, Malkavians believe that the Antediluvian's insanity granted him greater vision. After the fall of the Second City, Malkav is believed to have traveled towards the city of Petra. It is along this journey that some think the Eldest Malkavian was attacked and torn asunder. Who the assailant might have been is unknown, though it seems likely that another Antediluvian sought his destruction. Yet even if his body was destroyed, it is believed that his spirit survived inside of his childer, who gathered at the site of his death and drank his spilled blood, taking Malkav's essence into them and sheltering it from the sun's rays. However, other accounts state that the Malkavian Antediluvian continues to sleep under Petra, or that he rests beneath Jerusalem. If that is true, his seeping madness could be one cause for the regional instability that has gripped the area for so very long, and he may be directly responsible for the massacre that followed the siege of Jerusalem in 1099. Malkav has likely become the Malkavian Madness Network, a psychic link connecting virtually all members of Clan Malkavian. Whether this is the Antediluvian's attempt to ascend to a higher state of being or simply an escape from Final Death, he is a mental force capable of sharing his madness and vision with all his descendants, possibly even directing their actions. Some extremists go so far as to say that the Madness Network is Malkav's nervous system, and that Clan Malkavian itself is the Eldest's physical manifestation. However, the extent to which Malkav truly exists or has control over the Madness Network remains a mystery that is unlikely to be solved any time soon, as no one has evidence of the Antediluvian taking direct action. One idea espoused by some members of the Sabbat is that Malkav is asleep, and that should he wake the Ancient's mind will overwhelm his entire clan and consume them. Their hope is that by continuously increasing their numbers the clan will one day stretch Malkav's essence too thinly, rendering him truly vulnerable. This would perhaps explain why even members of the Camarilla do not always outright destroy those who come through the Embrace broken and unable to survive. The fact remains that of all the Antediluvians, Malkav's purpose or intentions are probably the least understood. He may be as preoccupied with the Jyhad as all the other ancients, or he may be attempting to guide his clan (or even the entire world) to an enlightened state. Of course this is all about Malkav the first: his son having followed closely in his footsteps up until the day he realized his father was killed. Now he must seek revenge and find a way to bring his father back to life once more. | |
