| All About YouBasics! Name: Jishaku, Hiromasa Age: 47 Birthdate: November 7th Gender: Male Sexuality: Straight Race: Moor Rank: Citizen Location: Edge City Appearance: Height: 5'11'' Weight:150 lbs Skin Color:White Eye Color:Violet/Blue as desired Hair Color/Length:Grey, shoulder-length Special Characteristics: - Master Illusionist:
Name: Master Illusionist Type: Magic Description: His primary focus while he was alive, Hiromasa's great power to manipulate the senses of those around him have only grown with his relatively new power as a Moor. In combat he is nearly impossible to strike with anything short of a massive area of effect attack as he is never where he seems to be, protected by multiple layers of illusions, with more created as others are peeled away.
- Moor Physiology:
Name: Moor Physiology Type: Racial / Personal Description: The Moors, otherwise known as Shadows, are an ancient group of creatures that have blended in with the world of Vampires and Sympaths for a very long time. They're mentally strong, as well as physically strong and fast, matching that of a Vampire's speed and strength. They have a wide range of shadow manipulation and psychic abilities that make them downright lethal, including an immunity to the sun, disease, parasites, sickness, and poisons. They bleed dark blue, which indicates that other than using air to speak, they have no use for breathing - their blood downright poisonous to those outside of their race. For this race a stake through the heart will do nothing more than piss them off, and not even paralyze them such as with Vampires and other creatures. They're capable of going long periods of time without feeding, and feed from their own kind as the blood of their own makes them the strongest, however they can feed off of other creatures such as Humans, Vampires, or Sympaths. The only difference between a Moor and a Vampire is their great deal more of mental abilities, better control over shadow manipulation, and their rituals and customs. - Trickster:
Name: Trickster Type: Racial / Personal Description: User is (or can draw from) a Trickster: a god, goddess, spirit, man, woman, or anthropomorphic animal who plays tricks or otherwise disobeys normal rules and conventional behavior. The Trickster openly questions and mocks authority, encourages impulse and enthusiasm, seeks out new ideas and experiences, destroys convention and complacency, and promotes chaos and unrest. At the same time, the trickster brings new knowledge, wisdom and many An Aesop. Even when punished horribly for his effrontery, his indomitable spirit (or plain sheer foolishness) keeps him coming back for more.
Tricksters can be anything from gods of chaos, bedeviling heroes for a few laughs, to master manipulators who use cruel ploys and sadistic choices. They can also be heroes (or more likely Anti-Heroes) who make up for a lack of strength or bravery with manipulation, planning, or just plain cheating. The trickster is often a Master of Disguise and may have magical or super-powers.
In mythology and religion, the trickster deity breaks the rules of the gods or nature, sometimes maliciously but usually (albeit unintentionally) with ultimately positive effects. Often, the bending/breaking of rules takes the form of tricks or thievery. Tricksters can be cunning or foolish or both; they are often funny even when considered sacred or performing important cultural tasks. - Void Mind:
Type: Mental, Unique Description: While some possess great strength of will, bastions against which mental manipulations must contend to influence a mind, Hiromasa's simply doesn't seem to exist. All attempts to manipulate his mind fail, struggling in vain to find the essence to affect, leaving confused psychic attackers vulnerable to his own will slithering into their consciousness.
General Description: During the day to day, Hiromasa is an uninteresting figure, seemingly a youthful, blue-eyed and harmless citizen of whatever place he happens to be in, blending in with crowds and going about his recreations unafraid of anyone knowing who he is. When conducting business dealings or otherwise exercising as someone of interest, he is nearly always dressed in light grey hooded robes, the face under the hood always deeply shadowed but for a pair of intense, glowing violet eyes. On the rare occasions he chooses to take direct action he can appear as nearly anyone or no one, regardless of race or gender, with only those possessed of tremendously power sensory acuity able to note anything being even slightly off, though he is still susceptible to a lack of knowledge if impersonating a target and asked a question if he did not gather information beforehand. About You: History: A lifelong citizen of Edge city, Hiromasa Jishaku began life as a small-time con artist and magician, using sleight of hand to make possessions of awed spectators disappear and, sometimes they even reappeared, though quick feet and a small frame often made it more profitable to take off with the "borrowed" items. As the years wore on and he grew older, he developed an increasing skill with illusions, masking his face, then his whole body and eventually just substituting himself entirely for illusions, plucking the items from outstretched hands and leaving enraged dupes to chase after smoke and mirrors. As his abilities grew, of course, so did his desires. Once the money from fencing watches and rings began coming too easily, he began trying his hand at more dangerous schemes, luring drunks out of bars with an illusion of a beautiful and equally drunk woman. Leaving the men thrusting into open air as he picked through their clothing and absconded with their valuables and, for kicks, often their clothes as well, he would finish by dispelling the illusion and chuckling from enhanced shadows at their confusion. His income further increased as did his daily fun as he plied numerous variants of this trick, working his way up through increasingly expensive drinking establishments, his takes growing ever larger. Eventually, however, as it always does, his luck ran out. Trying his hand at one of the most affluent bars in the city, he once again succeeded in drawing a target out, this time an unnaturally attractive woman who was keenly interested in his illusion of one, but not for the usual reasons. The illusion and the "target" withdrew into a dark alley and Hiromasa settled in some shadows not too close by to watch the woman undress and make out with his fake, and was surprised and horrified when instead she sank her teeth into the non-existant neck. His lures were capable of fooling all the usual senses, but he'd never imagined this scenario and what was now revealed as a vampire was instantly on guard, hurling the illusion away from her and letting out an angry hiss at it poofed from existance. Faster than Hiromasa could even realize she'd spotted him her claws were at his throat and her fangs sank into his neck. Or so she thought. Previous close encounters, though none with a vampire, had lead Hiromasa to be cautious, having a backup illusion to draw attention should the jig come up, and this was exactly what the vampire bit into. Well aware of his odds in a lengthy battle and how difficult it would be to evade an enraged vampire at this distance, Hiromasa took the half second his second illusion bought him and drove a stake(something any smart citizen of this day and age keeps nearby) into her heart through her back. Proving herself not to be a particularly powerful vampire, the prey-turned-predator was prey once again, disintegrating and leaving behind some very expensive clothes and jewelery. His heart still racing, he chuckled quietly at the close shave and began grabbing the valuables when he felt a hand grab his neck. An otherwordly voice whispered into his mind, chastising him for robbing it of a meal. Unable to move, Hiromasa listened as it told him that, as he was, his own life wouldn't nearly make up for the debt he now owed. For the next decade Hiromasa spent very little time in full consciousness, living mostly in his own dreams. Every once in a while he would awake in a dark chamber, industrial shackles on his limbs and neck. These phases never lasted long, however, as they were always followed shortly by the appearance of eyes glowing green in the darkness which came to represent exhaustion and a return to sleep. As time passed, however, he gained an increasing sense of what was going on around him, even in sleep. His sense seemed sharper and his mind seemed to be able to feel those around him. He began to remember more of the spaces between dreams, the feedings, both on him and by him upon the hapless nobodies that were fed to him, uncontrollable instinct causing his body to reach out and grip them tightly, the life draining from their bodies despite any sign of how this was occurring. As his awareness increased, he managed to put the obvious together and realize that he'd been turned into something beyond human. Far, far beyond. The same being that hurled him into sleep left Hiromasa alone with his meals and, though still shackled to the wall and unable to move much, he began to play with his food, feeling out the new strength. He realized he could hypnotize his weak-willed food, make it come to him without him needing to move before he entered their minds, dominating them and devouring their life essence, leaving behind seemingly undamaged corpses. He refined his abilities as he continued discovering new ones, working both in dreams and his rare, but increasingly less so bouts of consciousness. His essence grew, and thus the tax exacted on him by his captor became less debilitating, though he would occasionally still be drained to just before death at the amusement of his tormentor. Keeping his growing mastery of his abilities a secret, he slowly gathered strength and what information he could glean from his captor, peering into the ancient mind feeding on his own as secretly as he could. Among the first information he gained was that "it" was a "she," though this mattered little. He also discovered that she, and thus by extension Hiromasa was, a Moor, which was as best he could tell a form of energy draining psychic vampire. Most important of all, however, he discovered her fears, her greatest being of her father, an established and powerful being who would be extremely angry at discovering that she was freely turning interesting humans into Moors, something normally done only rarely, and feeding on them. The next time she came to feed, he struck. When she gripped him in preparation for feeding, he fed her a powerful illusion of her father appearing behind her. Caught completely off-guard, she backed straight into Hiromasa in her attempt to get away from her greatest fear. Two seconds later a decade of Hiromasa's life was over as well as his chapter of life. A nobody before, Hiromasa remains a relative unknown, right up to his name, operating mostly through illusions and his shades. Having spent the years since his freedom as an information broker, he has considerably less interest in money than before, though he still uses it for the less important things. For the truly valuable bits he collects he accepts nothing less than a feeding session on the life essence of a powerful being, often the person purchasing the information if they are appetizing enough. | |
