OH SWEET GOD THAT'S BRIGHT! [NR][Amaranth/Invite]

She nodded gently at Amaranth's suggestion on not going back. What use would she be if she didn't know any of her powers or anything about running a city? She'd just be a useless figure head that some new person would try to assassinate. She took a sip a juice... Then another as she lost herself in thought... Then yet another sip before she tuned back in to hear Amaranth offered training.

She loved training. Training improved the body, mind and soul, bringing them closer in perfect unity. Yes. She would love to train, and nearly wanted to exclaim said excitement, but caught herself. "Yes... I'd love to train with you, since I have no clue what any of my new angelic powers are... Training would be lovely." She said, voice becoming softer, kinder and sweeter sounding. Like a proper lady. The thought would have made her laugh, but you know, she had been abusively taught to behave correctly, and she would act less rough until she was more comfortable around her newest friend Amaranth. She smiled softly and took another sip of juice... Damn, this juice was good. She was only aloud to drink water in her house... This was a sugary, sweet, and heavenly nectar of the gods. Maybe she was exaggerating a bit, but it was still wonderfully wonderful.

Amaranth gave a nod as Himitsu agreed to her suggestion and then to the training. With all of that out of the way, and Himitsu obviously not returning to the city, that left her with only one option: she would have to house the female on the island. It would be somewhere nice of course, especially because she had made Himitsu her responsibility. Maybe she would even allow the female to stay in her lab; yes that was what she would do. She had more than enough rooms: and could even add more rooms in the blink of an eye if needed.

"Alright, good. Now I just want to get a few more things squared away. The biggest being, since you're not returning home, I feel that makes me responsible for you, which isn't a problem at all. So, I'd like for you to stay here, if you wish. It's comfortable enough, and you could come and go as you please. The rooms are spacious and nice, and we can get you clothing that will fit you now that you're smaller than you were. And, you won't have to worry about food so long as you're living here, my kitchen is always open, and completely stocked."

Another idea also popped into her head: she was low on staff, perhaps Himitsu would like to join her - it would give her protection, and a way to earn money for whatever else she could possibly want. "How would you like to work for me? I could always use more people to keep things running smoothly on the island, and help around my lab of course. It would give you some pocket change, too."

Oooooooh living here? In this lab? under the water where it was all pretty now that she wasn't terrified and thinking she was kidnapped? That sounded wonderful!! A place to stay, clothes, food provided? Wow... This lady was so kid hearted to her. Then Ama offered her a job as well. Warm bed, clothes, food. job and income? this must have been karma points from all the abuse she'd taken as a child or something.

"So... I can stay here, I get my own room, a warm bed, protection from assassins and the like, freedom, clothes, food, and a job? I... I'm so grateful! Wait... What's the catch? I'm not entitled to hand over my first born child or contracted under some extensive magical contract am I?" Hey, at least she was being cautious, either something was up, or Amaranth was her best friend before her change... Either that or the job she was being offered was insanely difficult, time consuming, and incredibly dangerous... Or you know, Amaranth was maybe just a benevolent soul helping her for no reason... Hmm... Well, Himi was trusting Amaranth enough at this point to count out the thoughts of Amaranth slipping a knife in between her ribs while she slept or something else of the same nature...

She continued to watch Amaranth with big blue eyes as another sip was taken from her juice. The container was now about half empty, but she was thoroughly enjoying the sweet drink. Couldn't blame her, she was a deprived child.

Amaranth unscrewed the cap from her bottle and brought the bottle to her lips, taking another sip of the fruity juice inside of it as she listened to Himitsu speak. She lowered the bottle after a moment, but didn't put the cap back on; her bottle of juice being nearly empty at this point. She nodded her head a few times and then smiled.

"Yup, that's right. The only thing that I ask is if something needs done and you can do it, you do. Just pull your weight around here and you get to enjoy all those benefits." She felt that was a fair enough deal after all, a job here or a job there, and you get all this free stuff plus get to remain on a paradise island. Good deal, yes? "I'm not saying go out and over do it, either. I'm not expecting miracles. Just a job here or there, or if I need something special done.. or even help here in the lab, if you're willing to do so."

A small pink creature, Mew, flew through the lab door. The small thing took one look at Himitsu and then flew over to Amaranth, diving face first into her dress pocket so that its head and little arms were digging around in the pocket. "Mew, the berries are in the fridge.. I'm not carrying them around in my pocket anymore, they stain when they pop." Mew gave a little butt wiggle and popped its head out of her pocket and headed over to the fridge; which opened telekentically. The small creature then grabbed a plastic container of berries and after closing the fridge door telekenetically went and flew over to one of many tables where the pink thing sat and began to scarf down berries.

Amaranth giggled and then looked to Himitsu. "That's Mew by the way, friendly little creature, loves berries."

Mew:

Himi smiled and nodded her head twice. "I'd be willing to help you in the lab! It'd help me learn more about the body, and I love to learn. And doing those jobs sounds good as well~" She said in her soft voice before taking another few sips from her juice.

"So, I obviously don't remember much of anything about you, and if we were friends before me being fourteen again, I think that it'd be wrong for me to not know anything, no? Tell me something about yourself, if you don't mind." She said, taking notice of the little pink cat-ike creature that was digging about in Amaranth's pocket... It was... It was adorable to say the least, and Himi nearly cooed over it's appearance. "Mew? It's adorable~"

Amaranth stared at Mew a moment longer before she brought her bottle of juice up to her lips and downed the last little bit that was left in the bottle. She screwed the cap back on and then expertly tossed it halfway across the room where it landed in a small trashcan which sat next to one of many lab tables.

She then turned her attention back to Himitsu, thinking back to everything about herself. "Well, let's see. I'm part Angel part Spirit; my mother is an Angel and my father is a Ghost, who is also named Ghost, my mom's named Destiny." She scratched at her head for a moment, thinking about the most basic of information. "Let's see. My mom made this island by herself; but works for my grandad who is the Boss of Edge City. Uh.. I make experiments from time to time, mostly helpful little creatures."

What else was there to tell? "My favorite color is red, like my cape I always wear... my favorite sport is rock climbing. My favorite food, since my grandad told me I should lay off the candy because it's bad for my teeth, would probably be taco's or pizza, or taco pizza." She glanced back over to Mew, watching the pink thing continue to scarf down the berries it had taken from the fridge. "If there's anything else you want to know you can always ask.", she said to Himitsu as she turned her silver gaze to the female as she spoke.

"Your parents actually let you know there names? Wow... I never knew any thing about my mom or my dad... Satoshi and the servants usually took care of me..." She twiddled her thumbs a bit, looking down and fidgeting with the hem of the yellow tank top she was wearing. It was almost as if she were afraid to talk about her home life. "Did your parents take care of you, or did other people take care of you?" Her question was an honest one, not to be taken into offence either. "I'm sorry if my questions get to personal..." She said timidly.


And after hearing that she could continue to ask if she wanted, she did exactly that. "Well, what's your favourite type of music? Do you have a favourite weapon? What's your favourite weather? I myself prefer the beautifully unique white snow that falls in Shinkai for half the year." She paused for a second. "My favourite food would probably be grilled steak or plain Nigirimeshi... Drink wise, I like green tea, preferably fresh, but bottled is still good." She raised her juice bottle again and took another sip. She was really thirsty for some reason... Or wait, did angels thirst or hunger? Was she actually dehydrated, or was it all in her head? Was her mind tricking her into thinking this? She had been still human when she laid her head on her pillow in her memory of last night... Hmm...

"Amaranth, if it isn't too much to ask, could you tell me more about angels?"

Amaranth nodded in response to Himitsu's first question. "My dad had an accident to where he was trapped some place for a very, very long time. But my mom took care of me, and the rest of my family. And now that my dad isn't stuck anymore he takes care of me too." She tilted her head as she answered Himitsu's question, wondering why she had asked such a strange one. Hadn't her parents and family taken care of her? She wasn't going to pry though. Old wounds tended to be painful ones, and she wanted to keep her friend happy.

"I like all kinds of music, usually the faster the beat the more I like it. My favorite weapon would have to be my gunscythe, I always have it on me somewhere. Let's see... my favorite weather would have to be how I keep my island a good percentage of the time: about eighty or so degrees with a nice constant breeze.", she said in response to all of Himitsu's questions.

Her mind quickly shifted at Himitsu's new question about Angels. She leaned her hip against a nearby counter, folding her arms across her chest. "Well, let's see. There are three types of Angelic forms or types: Physical, Spiritual, and Ethereal. Let's see... Angels are the fastest race. Half Angels, like you and me, are slightly slower than a full blooded Angel. Some Angels find that they don't need to eat or drink, while others do. Some just prefer to do so even if they don't really need it."

She bit her bottom lip, thinking about what else she could tell her. "Obviously we can fly and stuff, and we have halos. Most Angel halo's glow in indication to their emotions. The stronger the emotion, such as happiness, love, anger, or hatred, give the strongest of glows. We're immune to basically everything: sickness, disease, poison, parasites, all of that fun junk...." She scratched at her nose. "We can control a bunch of holy or light elements.. we can heal people, and even bring people back from the dead."

She had listened to all of the stuff about her friend. So her friend liked fast music? A gunscythe? She had never seen one of those... She liked warm weather. She had listened carefully about the angels. Different types of angels? Which one was she? Angels were immune to all of that stuff? They could bring back the dead?

But one thing had stuck out to her. Amaranth's father had actually taken care of her? Her family had actually cared about her? Himi just couldn't grasp it... Wasn't the father supposed to only deal in business? Wasn't the mother supposed to be a strict discipliner? Wasn't a child supposed to be ignored? Weren't parents supposed to stay distant from their offspring?

"Your dad takes care of you? When you do something that is discouraged, do you get hit? Your mother likes you? Do you have a guardian? How are you allowed to wield a weapon? My mother always told me that holding a weapon was a disgrace, and that a female's place is to please her husban-" she stopped short and covered her mouth with her hands, eyes going wide. She didn't mean to say so much, nor had she meant to pry and ask so much about her friend's personal life. "Oh... I'm so sorry!" She said through her hands, sounding slightly scared. "I- I didn't mean to pry, I'm sorry!"

And she was embarrassed as she sank to the floor, halo glowing a bit brighter than it had been a moment ago as her cheeks burned. A lady should never speak of events behind closed doors. A lady should never reveal so much. Oh, oh gosh... She was expecting to feel the sting of pain, her gut coiled in anxious anticipation of the hurt that had always accompanied a fuck up on her part. She kind of just sat on the floor in silence, hiding her face in her hands, which rested on her bent knees.

Amaranth blinked and frowned, remembering the things she had seen when she had poked around in Himitsu's mind; so her questions made sense, but she didn't know how to answer her without making Himitsu's parents look bad. "Um... well. I suppose if I do something really, really bad I'll get my butt spanked. But other than that no my parents don't hit me.. and yeah, my dad takes care of me. He protects me when evil people show up, too."

She put both of her hands back onto the counter behind her and used them to raise herself up and scoot backwards so that her butt now sat on the counter, legs dangling since they weren't long enough to reach the floor from her new vantage point. "Nah, my mom wanted me to use a weapon. She says it's always best to be prepared. My gunscythe just came naturally to me, more-so than other weapons which is why I use it."

She watched her friend sink to the ground and blinked, hoping down from the counter. She walked over to her and kneeled down in front of her. After a moment she gently reached out and slipped her hand between the female's arms, finger bent as it rested beneath Himitsu's chin; which she gently lifted so that she could look the other female in the face. "Himitsu... I mean this in the nicest way possible, but not everyone is like your parents and family... and no one is allowed to lay a hand on you while you're under my protection: so you don't have to worry about getting into trouble and hit... And you won't get into trouble for asking questions here."

Oh god oh god oh god oh god oh god Amaranth was going to hit her... This was just like her mother always started, quiet and soft, then suddenly, PAIN! It had always happened like that. Always... Oh, the phantom hurt starting in her mid-back and shoulder blades, plates had been broken over her small form so many times... Himi had heard the soft sounds of Amaranth's bare feet against the cool marble floor of the lab... How she could tell Ama was in front of her by the soft noises of her breathing... The soft noise of fabric against fabric as Amaranth moved... Himi keened softly as the girl's hand moved in between her own arms... Only to touch the underside of her chin with a bent finger and gently tilt her face up.

She looked upon Amaranth's face, her own already starting to twist with fear and sadness. Himi's eyebrows where raised, pinching together and coming up at the inner corners; big blue eyes wide, speaking thousands of words of fear and anxiety; the corners of her lips pulled down just a bit in a slight frown. Himi flinched away slightly and whimpered like a kicked puppy when Ama began to speak, she was expecting harsh words, but instead was greeted with kind ones.

"I... I don't ha-have... I wa-won't get he-hit?" She asked, her voice shaky and somewhat confused... She had expected pain. She had expected punishment... This was a surprise to her... Without thinking she opened her arms up and leaned forward, bring her arms around Amaranth's back to close her in an embrace. To live without the fear of getting hit? It... It was if she had been set free from some invisible shackles... As if the oppression and abuse had became some sort of fetters. "I... I don't know what to say." She said softy, voice still sad and a bit shaky.

Amaranth took note of Himitsu's facial expressions and reactions; figuring it had all to do with the fact that she knew Himitsu's mother had hit her. But, Amaranth was going to prove to her new friend that she didn't have to ever worry about that again; that she could live a normal and happy life like she should have been able to to begin with.

"No, neither myself nor anyone else will hit you... Especially for no reason at all. Hitting doesn't teach people things.", she said softly.

And then she was being hugged, and she blinked. She wrapped her arms lightly around her friend in response, hugging her tightly but gently. She didn't want her to feel confined, especially after knowing that Himitsu just thought she was about to be struck, but she wanted the female to know she was safe and cared for.

"Consider this your new start, eh?" She glanced, as she hugged Himitsu, at the glass, and more importantly the ocean outside of it; it was darkened, drastically. That meant night had fallen. Perhaps it was time to show Himitsu around the laboratory before she got too tired to focus. "Why don't I give you a tour of the lab before it gets too late: show you your room, and the kitchen and all of that good stuff, hmm?" She removed her arms from the female and then stood up, offering her hand out to help her friend up off of the floor.

She wouldn't get hit any more? No more pain? No more fear? She made a soft noise as Amaranth hugged her back, a soft noise that indicated that she felt comfortable around the girl, almost like a soft compliance and acceptance. Trust. A new start? That sounded good...

"Why don't I give you a tour of the lab before it gets too late: show you your room, and the kitchen and all of that good stuff, hmm?" Her friend said as the hug was ended. Now that she thought about it... She kinda wanted to sleep, even if she didn't actually need it. She just wanted to lie down on a soft, warm bed and close her eyes and dive into a blissful world without hurt or pain. Plus, knowing where the kitchen was would be helpful if her tummy got the rumblies or something of the like.

The blonde girl smiled and nodded her head twice in a yes as she looked up and took Amaranth's outstretched hand and was helped up. "That sounds good~" She said, looking around she noticed that the water outside of the lab was rather dark, it was getting close to nightfall... Interesting for her body, as her last memory was of her lying down on her own bed and saying good night to Satoshi... How interesting that it was already night, so soon for her mind.

With Himitsu up on her feet Amaranth led the way through the actual lab part of the Underwater Lab. She led the way down a hallway, pointing through random open doorways. "The kitchen's through there, and the dining room through there - both have a connected center so you don't have to go out into the hallway to get from one to the other if you don't want to. The kitchen has two stove ranges with double ovens, two fridge and freezer combos; one for more fresh vegetables the other for the meat eaters, plus a whole range of appliances from blenders to microwaves, even an espresso machine. Cabinets are fully stocked with dried goods and candy and chips and stuff like that..."

She kept going, pointing on the other side of the hallway. "There's the common living room through there, has all kinds of game systems, big screen TV's, lots of comfy couches, computers, and a whole bunch of other random technologies and games." She pointed to the door next to that which was closed. "That's my private underwater office, complete with a conference room if I end up having to call a meeting: really haven't so far minus an incident few days ago and that I handled in my lab."

She kept going, leading the way into another hallway, going slow in the chance that Himitsu might pause and look around, or peek in while they went. "And now we've reached the bedrooms of the lab." She pointed to the bedroom with the number one put on it. "One, two, and three are taken, as is four since I have my cousin's room prepared encase he needs to use it." She pointed to the door across from the number one. "Five is open if you wish to stay across the hall from myself, I'm in number one. All you have to do is scan your hand on the scan pad on the door, you just put your hand on it and it'll do it all itself. That'll make the room yours and yours alone. Only people able to get in would be myself or another higher up with the over-ride, but none of us will enter your personal area without permission or very good reason. To unlock your door you just put your hand on it and it'll open for you."

She then pointed to a set of spiral stairs in the middle of the bedrooms corridor. "Now those steps lead to upstairs, which is the above water living room, which is larger than the one back there, and the above water office. It also has a fancy dock with some boats to get to the island by any means other than the underground tunnel... That door is through there..." She pointed ahead to another large living room like area. "I think that's about it... " She lifted her hand, scratching at her head as she wondered if there was anything she missed. "Bedrooms all have their own phone lines, each with their own number, you'll find it on the wall by the phone. You can call anywhere and everywhere you want, and you're more than welcome to give people the number. They also come with TV's, computers, and stereo's... the rooms are soundproofed so you don't have to worry about being too loud."

Kitchen, stove, fridges and freezers, cabinets, blenders, microwaves, expresso; dinning room next door; living room, couches, TVs, game stations, computers, rug on the floor would be a nice touch, technologies; private office, closed door, meeting room inside for meetings; BEDROOMS, first four where taken, number five was hers, number five was hers, number one was Amaranth's, hand scanner, all work done my scanner, personal room, no one intruding, higher ups could come in, wouldn't without good reason, door unlocked via hand scan... Stairs, above water part of underwater lab, above water living room, bigger than underwater living room, above water office, boats, docks, and underground tunnel.

Yes. She had heard al of it. She had paid attention and looked around, taking in the beautiful surroundings... And that tantalising thought of a nice bed in her personal room. Phones in rooms and TVs and bathtubs and computers and stereos.... Soundproof? Sounded lovely! Before Amaranth could finish Himi was pressing her hand against the scanner of room five, smiling softly as the door slid open. She wanted to lay down and take a nice long twelve hour rest. "Sleepy sleep nao? Please? My brain is tired..." She looked at Amaranth's face. "Thank you for letting me stay Amaranth~ Now, have sweet dreams, nigh-night~"

And with that she stepped into her room, and sprawled on the massive and comfortable bed.

Amaranth nodded to Himitsu. "Goodnight, Himitsu. If you need anything I'll be either in my lab or across the hall." She watched the female enter her room and then turned, heading back to her laboratory. She had some ideas running through her mind and she knew she wasn't going to be able to sleep until she put the ideas down so she didn't forget them later.

She was working on an idea on something to give or put on to each one of her islands staff, this way she could call them to her when she needed them, and would also be able to tell if they were in trouble and vice versa.
